Did Lakewood Electric have a secret alter ego? Regardless of the vehicular identity crisis, out stepped Jared. He assessed the collateral damage with lightning speed and gave it to me straight: getting those RAB Bell flood lights and Mighty Posts back in working order would require a four-hour surgical repair. He also gave me the estimate. Let's just say the cost was... dear. As in, "I might need to sit down and evaluate my life choices" dear. However, you get what you pay for, and Jared was worth it. We scheduled the repair, and he showed up exactly on the dot--a rare and beautiful miracle in the home service industry. He tackled the job with absolute efficiency and effectiveness. I also want to mention, we first used Mr Electric of Littleton (Yosemite location) 3 years ago, and they've been the only people we've used for our electrical work every since. There has been zero drop in quality of people, or work. We had a European light fixture we had to install, and as I learned they do not install the same in the US. Thankfully, Robert is from Poland so he knew exactly what that difference was! With some quick thinking, he found a very good solution to hang it. It wasn't the "intended" way to hang it, but after explaining to me (in detail) he made sure we were both in agreement that it was a good solution. I'm very impressed with how he managed to resolve this. Without him, I would've had to have somebody come in and replace the entire bracket. The fixture was very delicate, and he treated it as such. He even asked me for a soft pad to place pieces on as he worked. He was extraordinarily friendly, honestly it was like having a (electrician) neighbor come over. I just can't recommend him enough.

We had our dishwasher flood our kitchen in May of 2022. Best Option Restoration was the company we…read morehired for both the remediation and restoration. On their invoice, they promote "Leaving the World Better Than We Found It." Great motto. But it's just words. They did the remediation in May, but we had to wait for insurance to upfront the supplies for the restoration, which was done in early August. It was completed on August 12th, 2022. Multiple times between the remediation (and tearing up of the tile) and the restoration we told Best Option's project manager and team that we were concerned about the subfloor being bad. It bowed significantly when weight was put on it. (Something the owner denies even being a problem to this day, despite he never came out to even see the project after multiple complaints were made.) The caulk started cracking within days. We reported it on August 16th. They recaulked it on August 24th, and then the tiles started cracking in early September. We reported it on September 11th. Their response was that they only had a 2-week guarantee on work. 2 weeks on the floor? After much back and forth, and proving we reported problems before the 2 weeks were up, they finally sent someone out to assess the situation. I had a long lengthy conversation telling them I was afraid of walking in the kitchen, and had been for months, and that I doubted they would want their wives living in this state, to which they agreed. On October 17th, 2022 they came out and pulled up the four tiles that were badly cracked. The ones right above the bowing subfloor. The guy showed me how badly they had laid down the thin-set, which was VERY thin-set, I could have pulled the tiles up with my own hands. He showed me him putting the tile down, showed me how well it stayed, and even pulled with a suction cup (of course this was all before it dried). Well, a couple of weeks later, the tiles cracked again. We knew the owner wouldn't do anything, he still disputes that they did a bad job even after multiple contacts. The tiles, visibly moving (even have a video of it moving). Not sure if it was faulty supplies, or what, but I still say it is the subfloor because the floor still moves at least 1/4 inch, but I suspect it's more like 1/2 an inch. And almost every tile on the floor or attached to one of these main 4 tiles, has cracked. If you want to pay for work to get done by these people, and then pay someone else to do it right, as a comparison between incompetent and professional, maybe for a home repair show, these are your guys. But if you want to actually have a floor you can walk on, keep looking. We are still waiting to be able to afford to fix the floors right because our insurance claim only covered it once. Included are pictures from both October 7th, 2022, and December 8th, 2022.
