A true nightmare before Christmas - turned into a Christmas miracle!! The night of Dec. 23, 2021 we were on our way up with two passengers; myself and our cat, and a car full of gifts, food, and luggage. A large rock from a mudslide got lodged under our oil pan and damaged our radiator, so we found ourselves very very stuck in a nearby pullout. Our insurance couldn't get their tow trucks to us because CHP quickly closed off a 2 mile section of the highway, we were right in the middle! Thankfully I waved down a plow truck on their way to clear the debris, he called CHP, who called A-Performance Towing. The heroes at A-Performance teamed up to drive into the road closure to rescue us and another car, and towed us to our hotel so we could unload our stuff for the night. We still opened our presents and took some time to count our blessings. With a large snowstorm coming over the next few days, we only had a one night stay at our hotel, fully booked hotels in the area, mechanic shops closed for the holiday weekend and a totalled car (Big Bear doesn't seem to have any Uber/Lyft and NO car rentals anywhere....I've never been more stuck in my life!) so the following morning Mindy at A-performance made herself available (on Christmas Eve) to brainstorm a solution and stepped in where my insurance seemingly couldn't....she pulled some strings and was able to hook us up with a local U-Haul on the other end of the lake that was technically closed, but still made an exception to rent us a U-Haul! Mindy even arranged for one of their tow drivers to take me to get the U-Haul! I drove it back to our hotel and got us down the mountain before the snowstorm hit that afternoon. We spent Christmas day in our own warm & cozy house thanks to everything they did. Truly, exceedingly above and beyond service, very willing to help my family in despair. In an unimaginable crisis, they showed us they could be trusted to come through. They were far more helpful than my insurance was through all of this. 5 stars doesn't even feel like enough. read more

We were hit head-on by a car that was coming down the mountain and slid through the median around a corner into our truck, 8 miles from BB Lake this past Sunday. Thank god, with my family (3 small children) aboard, we were in a large Ram 2500 and no one was critically injured. It was an extremely harrowing ordeal, but from the moment Corey showed up after our call to AAA, things seemed a lot less chaotic. Stranded on a mountain with a family of 5, he offered to tow our vehicle to his yard and drop us off at our hotel along the way. He made it easy to communicate directly with him, and planned around our schedule to get our vehicle back to OC after the roads eventually cleared. He even notified me when the vehicle was secured and dropped off at the collision repair center. I noticed a couple of negative reviews on here and for the life of me I can't imagine that they were speaking of the same company. As a business owner, I know that sometimes the competition gets jealous and posts negative fake reviews....to me this seems like the only reasonable explanation for such. A-Perforfmance really does deserve an "A" for their performance with us....and if I had my way, I would change their name to A+ Performance!! I ran over something on the Blvd. pulled off the Blvd. my right rear tire was punctured. I'm handicapped, which means I frequently have mobility items in the trunk, but decided to attempt pulling items out to access the spare. Matt found my vehicle even though I couldn't give an address or cross street and Google locator wasn't active. The older 2000 Honda Accord I drive, has AAA towing. They are the ones that got Matt in touch with me, he must have understood the area, since the street numbers were missing on the building I was facing. He called me and spoke with me until he arrived. Which I really appreciated. He didn't need the spare, removed the object that caused the damage and plugged the hole and suggested replacing tires due to the wear on them. After the hole was plugged he help get my stuff back in the trunk. If you find yourself in a miserable situation with your automobile, I recommend calling A-Performance towing they are courteous, thoughtful and prompt. read more

This is Elena Herrera-Coley, I wanted to give a status update on A performance towing. Thank you to not only Cory as I mentioned before, but the two amazing drivers that helped us out, Patrick and Brian for all their help and all that they did. Everyone in the company went above and beyond to help us out in our time of need. My car is currently in the shop, it was the transmission and hopefully I will get it back Monday or Tuesday. Once again amazing company they are reliable, trustworthy and do exactly what they tell you they're going to do. On a side note, my husband was a truck driver for 15 years and said that he never felt safer driving with Patrick and Brian. I cannot say enough good things about MINDY, their dispatch agent. The process to get my car towed through AAA (via A Performance) was awful. It took a week to finally get it down the hill with weather issues and backed up waitlists, but Mindy came through with the A+ Performance in her customer service, flexibility, and overall attitude. She was professional and a pleasure to work with - especially given all the hullabaloo it took to make it all happen. If this company loses her, they're gonna have massive shoes to fill. Last night I came out of the store to find my car would not start. Not a pleasant situation for a single women. I used my Triple A membership to call for a tow. I was parked in a very narrow parking lot and was worried about how difficult it was going to be to tow. Pete arrived very shortly after my call and with in minutes figured out how he was going to load my car. I immediately felt better about my situation. He made sure I would be able to get home safely. He turned around what could have been an extremely stressful situation with his professionalism, courtesy, and kindness. read more

Kevin from this company is great! We got a flat tire due to a pothole late at night while driving up to Big Bear. Kevin was able to get in contact with us to find our exact location, where we barely had phone reception, and get us out of there and up the mountain safe! He was very friendly as well and made us feel comfortable and provided us with some great information about what to do in the morning in order to get out of our tire situation (as it was midnight and all tire shops were closed). I had a breakdown at the bottom of the mountain from Big Bear, and when other companies either stopped running or wouldn't come as far, A-Performance Towing was very quick and simple to get a driver dispatched with a truck large enough to handle my 21 foot F150. David, the driver, was very friendly and helpful, which really took the stress and frustration out of a bad day, even with an hour-long drive back up to Big Bear. AMAZING PLACE and service! Unfortunately I was in an accident due to the roads being so Icey up in big bear. They picked up my car and kept it in their storage lot until it was safe to bring it back down the mountain (due to the weather conditions). They brought my car from Big Bear Lake all the way down to Los Angeles for a totally understandable price. They came through when my insurance Triple AAA couldn't even do it. My 43 Willy's quit on me while driving around the lake at Big Bear. Used my AAA card to call for service. Navigated thru their string to get a local towing company. The local company, A Performance, the driver David Wyman contacted me verifying my GPS location and gave me an estimated time of arrival. Seamless! Driver appeared on time, loaded my vehicle and delivered it to my cabin address. I will ONLY request this towing company again while in the mountains and YES, request their very competent employee, David Wyman! read more

I was in need of a toe from AAA for my motorcycle from Big Bear to my home in Llano California. A-Performance Towing sent Nathan and his flatbed towing truck to pick me up. Nathan was a very kind and courteous person who took his time to make sure everything was correctly and safely strapped to our vehicles. He was very polite and an enjoyable person to travel with. My dad called AAA as he broke down in Big Bear and A Performance towing was sent out. I brought my dad another truck and rode back home with Kevin who was the tow truck driver to show up for the tow. Kevin was quick to respond very professional upon loading my dad's truck on the tow truck bed. On the 45 min ride home I got to learn something new from Kevin and was very pleased with how professional and helpful he was with towing my dad's truck home. It's never good when you're away from home and have a blowout, and the car doesn't have a spare. A-Performance to the rescue. They flat-bedded my car to a local tire shop for repair. The tire shop had to order the tire which would take a day. Unfortunately, I had no way to get back to where I was staying. Tim, the tow truck driver, overheard the conversation and offered to drive me back. Oh, and the conversation there and back was fun, enlightening, and relaxing. My ABS/brake light came on and was too scared to drive down the mountain. Pete came to the rescue and towed my car to the San Fernando Valley. Even though it was a rough day for me, Pete made it pleasant since we had to make the most of a 2-3 hour ride! Some tow guys don't talk whatsoever so it was nice to have someone to talk to that didn't mind having a conversation. That means a lot to me. Matt Nielsen with A-performance is a life saver. First time we called in he responded quickly and replaced our car battery while we were up in big bear lake. Second time we hit a nasty pothole and our tire bubbled up big time. we called A-performance through AAA and once again Matt helped us out and we made the drive down the mountain safely.
