Darlene took great care of my babies (2 cats) for the two weeks I had to leave the country. She is professional and would hire her again.

Long overdue review. I recently had taken my French bulldog to arch Vet in South San Jose. When I…read morewas about to get her fixed, they quoted me an obscene amount over $2500. That's when my neighbor recommended Alum Rock animal Hospital. She takes her dog and cats here. I decided to give it a try and they quoted me a much reasonable price. I have been here ever since and that's been for the past three years. Given that I have a French bulldog she does have some allergies not too much, but definitely have overcome some things and Alum Rock has been nothing but exceptional with their customer service and treating Mochi amazing. I personally find them extremely affordable and understanding. Not long ago I had a high concern and they were able to squeeze me in. I'm just so happy to have found this Vet because I hear so many awful stories about people with their animals and not getting in in time and they do the best that they can and I just really appreciate it. *just read some reviews and it's odd because they have made recommendations for Mochi, but they've never made me feel like I was pressured or a bad person for not taking any recommendations. Art Vet did make me feel that way. I guess it's all on how you perceive things but like I said, I absolutely love this place.

He placed my cat on lactulose and gabapentin. He stated that his constipation was the cause of pressure on his spine nerves which was causing him to have symptoms that appeared to be feline hypertension but it was only constipation. This is only my personal experience and I do not know if this doctor works there any longer. If you're going there for general preventative care I don't see an issue. Unfortunately the doctor was not very observant or maybe lacked education/ research on radiograph reading because now my cat had these symptoms flare up again and when I took him to a different vet he was able to identify the issue. My cat had a fracture near L3 and unbalanced hips that very unfortunately had healed and trapped the nerve in between. Had this been caught earlier the doctor could have positioned it to heal correctly. My cat is at the same pain level as a human with a herniated disc.... This means he will always be on pain management because the chances of surgery might not be in his best interest. My question is how can this have been overlooked at the time of the appointment? Why wasn't this diagnosed when the x-rays were a full body focus? The doctor could have told me to go to a specialist because something looked abnormal. You do not have to be an orthopedic/ neurologist to see the structural issues with his bones.
