I have brought several of my fur babies there and today I sent my new fur baby for a puppy cut, she is classif as a designer dog is three months old and had beautiful long silky after her just like her parents. I requested a puppy cut and what I got back was a scalped little girl and the grooming was uneven!! I have never been so inclined to give a ne rating before but apparently she was groomed by someone that didn't know what she they were doing! I have a broken ar and can't ev give her a bath AND wh ma it even worse was because I we had given a picture for them to see what she should look like. They have just lost my business and that they means that my five fur babies they will no longer have as clients. read more

The team (3 people to hold down one of the pups) did a great job with my hyper poodles with tough cuts after 5 months of winter hair growth. The young lady that helped me was wonderful. The ower who is probably screening all calls is toilet scraps. They told me and I paid for my dogs nail to be clipped which did not happen. When I called the owner she hung up on me. Let's be real here. I've been bringing my boi here for 4 months. Alil respect would be nice. I brought my doodles here for grooming. I was so nervous when I dropped off my fur babies. However when I picked them up, I couldn't be happier! They looked sooooooo gorgeous & were so happy. A Pets Place is a TERRIBLE place to trust with your furbabies. The owner Cathy Baker is nice to the customers if she sees them in the lobby, but behind closed doors is actually Mean to the animals. She despises her job & takes it out on the animals. She has hurt multiple dogs we have taken to her, from bleeding oversnipped toenails & paws, to actually having dropped the last dog taken to her off grooming table resulting in our dogs leg being broke. She roughly handles the animals & snatches them around while grooming them, if they give her just the slightest resistance. The lady who bathes the animals seems to do a good job, & has always been polite, but the lady who works in the office is incredibly rude & has a terrible attitude, like your presence alone is a bother read more

I normally board my dogs here and normally this place does a good job. Except for this time. While in their care one of my dogs escaped and was ran over and I did not receive a phone call or message from them until a DAY later (the day I was suppose to come get them!!!) they made up this elaborate story how my dog ran while they were cutting her nails (Which does not make since!) instead of taking ownership of what they did they continued to lie. I know this because the night of the accident I received a call from the man who hit my dog saying that she was dead. If you love your dog like I did please do NOT take them here. read more

I absolutely love A Pets Place! They are always courteous. Fitting my three Shiz-ztu's in a timely matter. They do a wonderful job grooming my three babies knowing what each one needs. One has allergies and has to have oatmeal baths, one talks, but some people are scared of him thinking he is growling. When in reality he is just talking to you. Cathy says we have no secrets because he tells all. Lol I wouldn't let anyone else touch my three babies. You can tell they really care about the animals they take care of. If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. Initially I planned to give a review on the atrocious grooming job that my golden retriever received by Cathy Baker; But after inquiring about a refund, the customer service I received was by far the worst yet. I made the mistake of leaving A Pets Place and calling about my dissatisfaction, and that was my first mistake. Upon calling, I was told the owner/groomer was not to be in for another 30 minutes. I explained the situation to the woman on the phone, as she had been the one I spoke to previously. She assured me that they would probably be able to figure out a refund, and she would notify Cathy of my call upon her return. I made it clear that my husband was very dissatisfied, and planned to come in before closing to speak with the groomer directly due to the tragic cut our dog received. Mind you, we have a golden retriever and once the fur is cut so short, IT DOES NOT GROW BACK THE SAME. It will have long term effects in his coat and skin. She laughed when I stated this fact, and assured me it would grow back fine, which is a lie. I told her I'd give her an hour and call back. An hour passes and I call back....3 calls with no answer. My husband then calls once and still nothing. We decide to go back in, as we expected the owner to be back but could not be sure because the phone wasn't being answered. After greeting the woman at the desk calmly and politely about the situation, she immediately became hostile and began to shout. She started yelling about how much they had done and why we couldn't have a refund, before we were even able to ask for Cathy. We try to speak to her but she continues to shout over us, so my husband asks her to change her tone. She then picked up the phone and threatened to have the police escort us out. We had done absolutely nothing to warrant such behavior or said threat. She is shouting at this point, and we just want to speak with the owner. We ask if the owner is there, as she said she would be, and she says she's gone and won't return until Tuesday. Being that she is the owner AND groomer, why would she intentionally leave before speaking with us? If we aren't entitled to a refund, what is stopping her from telling us that rather than avoiding us? Is the point of an owner or manager not to deal with situations such as these? This employee made it clear she wasn't a groomer or even the receptionist. So someone that held little to no title at this establishment was left to handle our dispute. In my experience, a business is not made by seamless and pleasant visits; it's made by the customer service that is received once there has been a discrepancy. Recovery is key in customer service and the staff at A Pets Place made it clear that they make no room for reconciliation. There may have been miscommunication on both sides regarding the length or type of cut, but when a customer is dissatisfied you don't stop answering the phone and leave. read more

I am in the military and just moved to Evans with my wife and amazing pup whom we needed to find a quality groomer locally for. My wife took my Golden Retriever to A Pets Place, after hearing stellar reviews on it, for a trim and bath because he was getting a little scraggly. Apparently there was some confusion between her and the groomer when she explained how she wanted it trimmed and I understand how that may happen. The dog is mine, I had him before I even met my wife, I usually take him to the groomer to describe how I want him to look because I tend to be very particular about how he is cut and also just very protective of him in general so I get how my wife could have had a hard time conveying what she wanted done to the groomer or how even the groomer could have misconstrued what she was saying. Normally a mediocre or even bad haircut wouldn't be too big of an issue because he's a Golden with long flowing beautiful Golden hair and can just get another haircut soon after the bad cut. That is not the case this time. The misunderstanding between my wife and groomer, Kathy Baker, somehow and beyond my wildest belief led to Kathy practically shaving his hair off and making him look more like a Labrador than a Golden. Literally unidentifiable. Upon seeing my dog in this state I was pretty upset but understood that an error on either end could have happened. None-the-less, as a professional groomer Kathy should know that it is not good for a Golden to have their hair cut that short and should definitely clarify with a customer what they want and explain the issues with cutting a Goldens hair so short if that IS what they want done. She did not do any of this. My wife called to inquire about a refund because we were extremely dissatisfied with what had happened to a very dear member of our family, the lady at the front desk told us if we were unhappy with the cut we could talk to Kathy about it and potentially get the refund pending that conversation but that Kathy had stepped out and she'd have Kathy call us back in approximately 30 minutes. At this point I was glad that they at least understood the situation and would try to assist us in resolving it. They did not call back after an hour so we attempted to call them three separate times with no one picking up, giving ten minutes between calls in case they were busy. So we went back to A Pets Place in person to speak with Kathy and when we arrived we greeted the lady at the desk(she wouldn't give me her name) politely and she immediately got hostile, loud, and disrespectful with my wife while telling her we were not getting a refund and that my dog was cut the way she asked him to be. I stopped her and asked her not to talk to my wife the way she was, at which point she picked up the phone and threatened to call the police and have me escorted out of the building. I was extremely shocked at this point because I had said nothing before or after telling her not to speak to my wife so disrespectfully and had done nothing that would warrant her involving the police or me being removed from the establishment. I explained this to her at which point she put the phone down, knowing that I was correct in what I was saying, then proceeded to be loud and rude while telling me that it was all my wife's fault and the error was totally on her end and that my dog would be fine, his coat would grow back correctly, and that she has three other Goldens that come in for cuts like his and there will be no refund. I asked to speak with Kathy at this point because she is the owner after all and also the one who gave my dog the cut and the one that was supposed to call us back to talk about our issue. The front desk lady told me she had already left for the day and wouldn't be back until Tuesday. I asked her if she had ever come back after we called and she said she'd be back within 30 minutes and she stated that she did come back and was told about our inquiry for a refund and stated that she wouldn't give a refund and then left for the day without talking to us at all, not explaining the issue, or why she would not be refunding the terrible service provided. You would think the owner of the business would be the one to tell us there would be no refund and to explain why over the phone or in person instead of fleeing from the problem and leaving a very rude, abrasive, and frankly unknowledgeable employee to attack the customer as soon as they walk through the door. I honestly did not expect such hostility from someone who isn't even the owner or groomer responsible for the mix up and such horrible customer service and ignoring of a customer with a very understandable dissatisfaction. She didn't even attempt to resolve the issue, she just went home without a care in the world about a new potentially loyal customer or the health and wellbeing of a sweet and loving animal. The lady who answers the phone is very rude. How dare you as a small ma and pa location whos location is open on a limb, risk turning down business based on the unprofessionalism over the phone. So I decided to go into the business it could have been really busy. She watched as I stood there for over thirty minutes before she said a word. I cannot say enough good things about A Pet's Place! I work in the same shopping center and have seen them walking dogs and picking up poop and talking to them like they were their children. A few of the ladies have come in where I work and have always been nice. I had to leave town unexpectedly last weekend and although I had recently talked to the owner Kathy about bringing our little dog for a 2 hour meet and greet I hadn't done that yet. I asked her on Friday if she could keep our little dog for 6 days starting Saturday morning and she said of course! She said I could bring her bed and recommended two items of our clothing to comfort her as well as her food and toys and anything else from home she might need. Our little dog had IVDD a few months ago and was paralyzed for nearly a month so she doesn't have 100% control of her bladder/rectum, but she's almost there. They said that was just fine! She is 7 years old and has never been boarded anywhere. I dropped her off Saturday morning and throughout those 6 days I got pictures of her and phone calls daily to assure me she was doing well. I know they loved on her a lot which was great because she gets separation anxiety when we even go to the grocery store and needs that extra TLC. When I picked her up she was clean and happy! She is not a dog that needs grooming, but if she did I would let them do it. Brenda has been with the owner for a long time and she was great with our little one as I knew she would be. I HIGHLY recommend them and will use them again!! The daily boarding fee is more than reasonable!! Thank you to everyone at A Pet's Place!!! read more
