This happened to be on a Saturday morning, and nowhere near a dealership, but close to Selma, NC. I got on my phone and by sheer coincidence, saw Turner's Tire Service and called. A very polite young man named Justin answered, and told us that he would try to help us. We were at his shop within a half hour. He removed the wheel, and quickly determined that we in fact had a cracked rim. Although he could not replace it for us, he did manage to seal the crack well enough to last several hundred miles, so we could arrive at our destination safely. Justin did not want to charge us anything for his time or labor. We insisted he take some money for his work. I honestly do not know what we would have done without him. He told us that he has taken over this 40 year old business which was his Grandfather's. We wish him much success.

I was told the issue was repaired, tested, and the vehicle was ready. Immediately after leaving the shop, the vehicle began overheating again while I was driving toward the airport. I had to take it to another repair shop (CarFix in Garner, NC), where I was later informed that a drain plug from the prior repair had not been properly sealed, causing coolant loss and repeated overheating. Despite attempts to save the engine, it ultimately failed and had to be replaced at a cost exceeding $15,000. Black Tires & Auto charged me $1,046.86 for the original repair and refused to take responsibility, issue a refund, or offer any assistance. I have documentation from both repair facilities. Based on my experience and similar reviews from other customers, I cannot recommend this shop.

Major Bummer. To top it off, when we unloaded the trunk to access the spare, it too was flat. A call to AAA and Evans T&A to arrange the dropoff was smooth, however one caveat was that tows are not taking any passengers... So off the car went, while we stayed on the side of the highway. Luckily Tim came to the rescue and sent a driver to pick us up! What a save to not have to walk a couple miles in 90 degree heat! The team diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to get us back on the road to continue our journey hassle free. They worked us into the schedule and were very sympathetic to our situation. While we waited, we were recommended a few lunch spots nearby to pass the time! Overall, I am thankful that our flat tire and road trouble happened so close to this business! Truly five star service!
