Have been going here for a few years, it's pricey but there is free pickup/delivery. Switching to the place located just around the corner, as I had unpleasant experiences the last few times here: if you prepay with a card on file, the receipt they give you does not disclose the credit card fees (that's misleading). I drop off so that I can get a receipt; I have to proactively ask for a receipt as the staff worker barely speaks/engages with you; They dropped off my dry cleaning without the bag, when I called they said they would drop it off the next day...no one ever dropped it off. I have been using A Plus cleaners for about two years now as my one and only dry cleaner. I also go here for minor alterations. They've met or surpassed expectations every time I've walked in the door. They do very good work and their timing estimates are always spot-on. The staff is very attentive - they often notice stains that I hadn't even seen! I came in 8 months pregnant with a bridesmaids dress that I had bought last year pre-covid, to make it for was near impossible but they were able to take two dresses I brought in and make it into a seamless beautiful dress that fit me. I've been using A+ Cleaners for almost 14 years since I moved to Jersey City. I lost the count of how many times they have damage some of my very expensive shirts and jackets. They are extremely reckless and careless, they have terrible customer service. I have fought with the owner, Diana plenty of times, she just doesn't understand how we customers care about our garments. I am fed up, tired of dealing with them, I've kept going back just because they are around the corner, but I am quitting, I've lost thousands of dollars in damage garments and have invested hours and hours trying to get replacement buttons from the original brands. Imagine finding a stain of unknown type & origin on your wedding dress the night before the wedding! This cleaner was recommended by our hotel after they assisted us in locating a cleaner willing to take on the task of cleaning a wedding dress in less than 24hrs. The service desk at the hotel reported that they called over 20 cleaners & no takers. I was referred to Diana who greeted me pleasantly and assured me that the dress would be ok. I dropped the dress @ 4:45 and worried all night long that my sister would be a gownless bride! However, thanks to Diana and her family we had the dress in hand, stain removed, perfectly pressed, and DELIVERED back to us by 12:30 the next day. The delivery was a huge help as we were tied up in wedding day hair & makeup all morning. The dress looked spectacular & my sister was relieved to be married in the gown of her dreams. What a great result! I decided to try this cleaners only based on how close it is to my apartment. Unfortunately no one has reviewed them yet. Well, based on my experience, I will recommend them to anyone. I had bought a great pair of work pants that were too long and flared out at the end. I needed to hem and take in the legs. I went in and Dianna, the owner, was friendly and fitted me. I brought them in on Sat am and needed them by Monday at 9am. She said it wasnt a problem and could even deliver it to my building. Delivery was right on time. The charge was $29 and I thought that was reasonable- the hem was 11$ and the tailoring of the pants was $18. They were perfect! I was so afraid they would have pulls, or look funny -(i have had awful experiences at cleaners) but these were spot on. read more

The WORST Cleaners ever! I truly wish I would have read these other horrible YELP REVIEWS Before I took my clothes to this place! First of all they LOST one of my favorite shirts, when I brought my missing shirt up to them they treated me like I was lying while at the Same time they said they will have to check at the factory! Never trust a cleaners that doesn't do the dry cleaning on the premises! They always blame the factory! They then tried to convince me that they had given the shirt to me! Again taking no responsibility for the lost shirt! Secondly they damaged another shirt! When I took the shirt out to wear it, the decorative flower was hanging off, tattered and appeared to be burned in some way! When I took it back to them to resolve the matter their resolution was to sew the damaged flower back on the shirt after I asked them not to!! They didn't even offer to pay for the damaged shirt after I even tried to get pass the fact that they lost my other shirt. Needless to say I'm livid! I have never experienced such lack of customer service. They didn't even apologized! Had no remorse! I would have had to go through so much to get money for the shirt that I decided to just walk out and warn everyone not to ever go to this establishment! Please this is a warning! My friend wore one of my favorite dresses and ripped the bottom of it. The threading came off and I had brought the dress to get it fixed here. The owner here, Diana, is a lovely woman. She had looked at my dress and not only did she fix up my dress, but she also fixed up a tiny rip that I had by my lower zipper area on the back. She was very quick and very professional. A+ Cleaners is located in back of the "A" Condominium by the Light Rail tracks. The woman who runs the joint is very friendly and efficient. They do a great job dry cleaning. However, they do a terrible job tailoring. I give this place 5 stars for their dry cleaning, but 1 star for their tailoring. If you want to drop off clothes to have cleaned, then this is a very good spot to do so. Just don't get anything tailored here. read more

I live the same condo building where A Cleaners is located. First off, the prices are much higher than usual. Sometimes they take 3-4 days to return normal dry cleaning, which is ridiculous considering most dry cleaners offer next day delivery. My biggest complaint is that they lost my suit pant and claimed that they never got it in the first place. I asked to see video of my bag being emptied and I haven't been shown the video yet. I went here having read the reviews, so I only took 2 items. The turn around time was 3 days and I was fine with that, but the summer cotton blazer was not well pressed. The prices were competitive - neither pricey nor inexpensive, but I expected better. I'll think twice before taking more dry cleaning here. read more

Definitely better cleaners in the area. Tried them for the first time with cashmere sweaters and they put a hole in one of the sweaters. The fix was awful and essentially the sweater is useless.i would not recommend them. I gave them two stars because they told me they will try to fix it but it really wasn't a good fix. read more

They lost my favorite dress. They said that they couldn't find it and made no efforts to track it down. This was a $400 silk dress that really held sentimental value. This cleaner never called back, I had to go to the store to track the owner down, they challenged the value of the dress even with presentation of receipt, and after multiple conversations (and months) they unapologetically offered me a nominal dollar amount as a way to pacify my complaints. These are THE worst dry cleaners I have ever been to! I took a suit to them last Friday because my regular dry cleaners in Plaza 2 had already sent the dry cleaning in for the day and they are closed on saturday. I picked it up on Saturday only to get home and find out that half of my buttons were broken. I called them back and they showed no remorse and said to bring it in and that they will fix it. So I take the suit back and ask if they have 8 identical buttons to fix the buttons they broke, the lady said yes and proceeded to pour the contents of a tupperware with an assortment of buttons of every color. She retrieved 8 and not a single one of them matched! I told her that won't work and I needed 8 identical buttons. She said she will fix it and to pick the suit up i a few days. I picked it up and the buttons although black are not the same and one is even navy blue...grrrrr. I am beyond livid, I just took my suit and left and will find someone else to fix the buttons for me. If you treasure your clothes, do not go to this place. You would think with their location, they'd be nice to people and have good customer service. I am furious because: 1. they are dishonest and did not tell me they ruined my suit 2. they showed no remorse 3. they were too lazy to find 8 identical buttons to fix their mess. I am not sure what happened to good customer service but this place is TERRIBLE! read more

A Plus Cleaners has a great location. The owner and staff speak decent English in short sentence/phrase form. My general feeling is that their prices are a higher (across teh board) than other dry cleaners. I've gotten my jeans hemmed ($18) and they came out great. I've gotten work slacks hemmed ($15) and they did not come out good at all. You could see the thread going through to the outside of the pants and pulling/bunching the hem! I think any one of us could do a sewing job like that! Generally their tailoring is expensive, about 30-40% higher than other places based on shopping around on my own. So I dont take tailoring to A Plus anymore. My biggest complaint is that I feel they lie to cover up their mistakes. I dropped off a pant suit (brand new, worn just once the day prior). A few days later, I get a call from the owner telling me there is a big hole in the jacket. I went into the shop to see for myself and there was a 6" rounded tear across the front of the jacket. I know that the jacket was perfectly fine the day I dropped it off but they claimed it arrived that way. My argument was that the tear wouldve been seen my the cashier at the time of check in as she was touching the item to determine what it was and the price. And why did it take a few days to call and tell me? I didnt win the fight and lost a $200 jacket. Needless to say I have not gone back since. I dont trust them to do the right thing by their customers. read more
