I have had very good service from Jane Laundromat. I've tried a number of laundromats in the neighborhood (West Village), but they are my favorite. In addition to the convenience of the pickup and delivery, I especially appreciate the way they fold my clothes - very carefully and neatly. I never have to refold them, just put them away. Something changed in the last 4 months. I've been using Jane for 3 years with zero issues. Other the past few months I have had multiple things happen. Most recently I only got my whites back, called to complain and they had given my colors to someone else. It took 6 days to get them back and when I did all my designer leggings were missing - pretty much everything expensive from the load. What annoyed me most though is how unapologetic everyone was, like this is just a normal day for them. I got a refund for that one load, but it won't remotely cover replacing the missing items. read more

they lost a brand new heavyweight blanket. They fried two other lightweight blankets so that nap changed, they overheated the in general. I sent them a knit hat that I times myself that always came out soft and fluffy, and it was literally fried. Burned you could see that it was crinkled and brown. They did not care that they lost my blanket. And I don't think they cared about anything else either because I gave them very clear directions not to overheat. read more

These people rock!!! Being in New York and the west village specifically, having a washer dryer is as common as finding a non finance guy in that city (lol). I needed a place and preferred wash and fold as nothing was within a 5 min walk so I'm not lugging my stuff. I went on the website and did the pick up choice, super easy and booked for early the next day. It sends a tracking link and the driver is always on time to pick up. You can tip the driver on there too. The laundry takes 24 hours (today it was done in 4 hours and they delivered it back same day, crazy!) and so clean and folded nicely. I lost my debit card aka I left them in my pants and they texted me saying they found it and will include in the drop off. So awesome. The prices best of all are super reasonable, I think it was not even $20 for one large bag!! I highly recommend and they are a wonderful option!! Thanks! read more

This laundry mat was my favorite places while in NY for work. Many other places that I have been to or drop off my clothes for some reasons have messed it up. I had to go back on Yelp, reading up a lot more places for pickup or drop off and this place has the best reviews. My first time, the gentle man greeted me and was very attentive to all my questions. They even call me when it was ready since I needed it same day process. My laundry was done and folded well in my returned bag. Smell very good and not damp like some other places I have used. The laundromat does a terrific job. My daughter had a summer intensive and needed her leotards, tights, and ballet skirts. They were extremely gentle and conscientious of our delicate clothing. This review is for my first experience today with Jane Laundromat. I just moved in and did not have my new laundry card yet. Luckily, Jane Laundromat has amazing reviews and I found them on Yelp. They offer same day service and picked up my laundry for a $2 flat fee. The cost is $1.30 per pound (I believe, might be a cent off) but it's around a dollar per pound. Because I wanted my gym clothes to air dry (Lululemon is high maintenance) I had to get them delivered the next day which wasn't a big deal. They also accept credit card or debit cards over the phone or cash. I love that they were prompt professional and helpful. The clothes was delivered neatly and folded which I HATE FOLDING my laundry. My tota cost came to $38 for 3 loads of laundry (whites, colors, and a week of gym clothes). Not bad! I would use them again if I'm feeling lazy or in a time crunch and don't want to do my own. My husband and I have have been using Jane Laundromat for about a year and love their prompt service. They always pick up and deliver our laundry on the same day. Out clothes are always folded neatly and I have never had a problem with damaged or dirty clothes. There was only one slight hiccup once where they switched their laundry detergent from sensitive to regular and I had an allergic reaction to it. I have been using this laundry service for several years and they have always been phenomenal. Everyone is incredibly nice and personable. I have almost always been able to pick up my laundry the same day and recently, I have been able to pick it up within a few hours of dropping it off. They also send you a text when your laundry is ready for pickup. They temporarily closed for renovations for a few months and during that time, I was unable to find a laundry service in the area that came close to their quality and price. Yes, I love this place! I would say I go there every week. But I am guy. And I have figured out how to go two weeks with laundry by owning a riduculous amount of underwear and socks. Last time, I carried 23 lbs worth of clothes there (nearly 2 stones for Brits reading this) to be washed. Everything is done there on premise, so you know it isn't being carted away in the middle of the night to moth infested, dirty warehouse in Queens. And they even do the same day. In one of the nicest streets in one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the city, it is refreshing how reasonably priced and unpretentious they are. I would probably eat there if they made food. This is my first time using a laundry service. This place got very good reviews, so I thought I would check it out. I popped in there on a Saturday drop off some dress shirts. It was packed with several banker-bros doing the same thing I was, so I knew my shirts would be in good hands. The staff is friendly and very efficient. You are in and out in minutes. The shirts came back just the way I had asked with no issues. Next, I wanted to see how their laundry service would stack up. I dropped off 25 pounds of laundry. They did a great job washing and folding everything. I think it came to a little over a dollar a pound. My only complaint is that I set my laundry up for delivery and it never came, so I had to call them to get them to deliver it. Jane Laundromat is now my go to dry cleaner and laundry. read more

I've been using Janes for the past 2 years, but recently their quality has been so poor I am going to have to use a different dry cleaning service now. Absolutely the best laundry I have had in New York... and I have tried LOADS. It comes back clean, neatly folded, smelling fresh (I know these are basic laundry rights.. but it doesn't always happen!) You can leave them with your own detergent, so it smells just how you want it to. AND... they know what to do with which clothes, which is rare (thank you Justin!) My sheets come back tumble dried and fluffy clean the same day. My sports clothes (lycra) come back next day, all air dried and neatly folded (not dumped soaking wet on a hanger and covered up in plastic *Greenwich Ave Cleaners* so it smells worse than before!) Price and convenience is amazing. They'll pick up/drop off within minutes (except maybe once it took 30mins, and on a weekday morning that's a real roadblock in your routine), and you really cannot beat the price. People are amazing also. Never had an issue with being hung up on or rude staff. BUT my biggest complain is the clothes don't come out smelling clean or feeling properly clean. Not sure why I've been seeing makeup swipes on the collars of my shirts, but that's not ok. I'm not convinced the quality of their care is even good. I've been using for months now to see if anything would change but it hasn't. Really wanted to love them, but I'm done. read more

I LOVE Jane Laundromat!!! First, I've been pleased with their service in the past, but the service that Jane offered during the havoc of Sandy was unbelievable! Even without power, they came in and opened their doors for customers. For many of us staying at friends around the City and others staying at home may have had their laundry at Jane and it was open for people to pick up their clothes at a time where most of the area was completely dead. I was staying with friends around the city, and came home each day to ensure everything was safe and sound and to switch out clothing. I noticed that Jane was open for drop off and walked in and asked how they were managing. The owner told me that they've developed a partnership to have the laundry cleaned in Brooklyn and brought back to Jane next day. A measure of anyone / anything is not how well one does when things are normal, but how one deals in the stressful time. Jane exceeds my expectations. read more

Never, ever going back. I had them dry clean one of my favorite button down shirts which had rhinestone buttons in the sleeves and one big rhinestone button at the top of the shirt. When I took out the shirt tonight to wear it tomorrow, I saw at least 3 of the rhinestones had come off when they cleaned it & the top button was missing too. Now my favorite shirt needs a lot of repairs and certainly can't be worn tomorrow. FYI- the shirt was fine before, I just had worn it, and so wanted it to be clean. It's not like it was even visibly dirty, just a little wrinkly. Also, when I first dropped off a pair of pants I loved from high school that needed a new zipper, they first told me it was free (which seemed to good to be true, even though they reassured me at least twice that it was free) and when I picked it up, it was a lot more than I would have been willing to pay had I known in advance. If they had said a price up front, I wouldn't have cared enough to include in my review- but telling me how much afterwards without even giving a hint that they would charge me before hand (and I EXPECTED to be charged when I first came in, I was not at all expecting a freebie), not cool. read more

I just moved to NY from Miami where every apartment has laundry. I was looking for a reliable and affordable drop off laundromat. This place satisfied both requirements and couldn't have been a better experience. I'm a laundromat's nightmare because most of my clothes are hung to dry, washed with cold water, sheets washed with hot water, no bleach and organic washing detergent please! These guys never balk at my request and always work with me on my quick turnaround time. As much as I miss having my own washer/dryer, this place does the trick! read more

Given how bad laundry service tends to be in the city, I approached this place with caution. I tried not to be duped by the awesome laughing baby Buddha pic they have up on the front window, or the smiling Chinese attendants. They entered my info and weighed my laundry, and promised a quick turnaround. The day of judgement arrived, and I picked up my laundry with trepidation from the smiling friendly guy at the register. I checked my clothes at home, and... nothing missing! No weird stains! No holes, no gray whites! I was dumbfounded . Since then, I've been to this place half a dozen times, and they've totally won me over. I love these guys with the unreserved affection I have for smiling, friendly Chinese-owned family businesses. I once thought they'd lost the tie that came with my bathrobe, but found it safely at the bottom of my laundry bag after a minor panicky moment. These guys even let me use my debit card when I was out of cash, even if I was below the $10 limit (shhhh!). They didn't even charge me the 50 cent overcharge they get- bless their hearts! I've never used their pick-up and delivery service, but so far the drop-off laundry service is excellent. I want them to teach me how they fold everything so neatly! I haven't been to many laundromats in the city, so I might not have an experienced review, but I really love this place :) Ever since I moved into the west village around a year ago, it's been kind of hard to find a reliable laundromat. I usually do my laundry once a month so I have over 20 pounds so I value a place that can get it done right for a reasonable price! It seems like a family owned business. My personal opinion is that service by more traditional Chinese customs is really curt and at times borderline rude but this place has some of the seriously nice and accommodating service I've ever seen! Just today, I went to go pick up my laundry (I live a block away) and they didn't have it done. I was completely fine with it and said I would just come later but the owner insisted on delivering to me free of charge!! My clothes are always returned very nicely folded and in great condition too of course! read more

I weirdly actually LIKE doing my own laundry, so relinquishing that control was a bit difficult to me. Can I actually trust complete strangers to not shrink or lose my clothes? I really love this place though. The owners may be a bit short on words but are very nice. And when I literally could not cross the street to get to the laundromat before it closed (Obama's fundraising dinner at Harvey Weinstein's blocked off all the streets in my neighborhood), they kindly kept the place open for an extra 20 minutes so I could pick up my laundry before I headed out of town! I love them. I LOVE THEM. With my move to the West Village and the loss of my sweet laundry lady, Grace, I had to begin anew with the folks here. They couldn't have made it easier. I noticed, too, when I entered all the different bottles of laundry detergent that were there (and there were A LOT), and asked them if I could bring my own. They encouraged it. I was happy (this BYOS - bring your own soap - practice is probably common knowledge to many NYers, but I had no clue). These folks could not be nicer, and they do a great job with my clothes. Tip: Drop-off only. PS - the fat happy baby photo you see here on Yelp hangs in the window of the laundry. I have yet to learn of its significance to the business, but it is a pretty happy little photo. I'd add another, but nothing would be able to match this one. read more

Long story, i started this review on the app by giving it 5 stars because of the first half of my experience, but then dropped it down to 3 because of the second half, read on if you dare! Wifey dry cleaning emergency! Two weddings, two weekends, one dress. Dropped off said dress at 10 am Wednesday, flight leaving 7am Friday and asked for it ASAP. Obviously biggest nightmare would be it taking too long. Lo and behold, they said it would be done by 6pm same day. That's only 8 hours! Well worth the $9.50. I would have been fine with 24 hours. Very friendly. BUT, I get the dress home and they damaged it! Not damage beyond point of no return but wifey was quite upset for sure. There was an elastic waistband sown into the dress and whatever they did during the "dry cleaning" process shrunk the waistband so the waist area was all cinched up and didn't fit right. Lots of tears ensued and it was the only dress she had for a wedding and we were leaving in about 24 hours and she couldn't go buy a new dress. Fortunately since the waistband was elastic, after wearing it for a bit the fit improved, but not an ideal circumstance. I will look for another 24-hour dry cleaner in Manhattan if possible. read more
