These guys are absolutely had my truck towed by their 3rd party operator, driver was very attentive and communicative. Once my truck was there it was diagnosed a day later (not bad given that I had no clue what my issue was.) Ryan called me the next day about further diagnoses and to approve the diagnosing charge (paid if I didn't continue repair) of course I let these guys fix my truck, Ryan called again the next day(Wednesday) after further diagnoses with some news that my WHOLE TRANSMISSION didn't need to be replaced (as Nissan quoted) and gave me part for part replacement and a run down of why I was having the issues I was. Valve body was ordered on Wednesday after he called and updated. THURSDAY MORNING Paul had called to let me know my truck was all ready to roll. These dudes know the business they're in! Went in and they told me I needed thousands in repairs. Went to several other shops to find out my car only needed a simple fix.

** UPDATE**: they reached out to us very promptly and are working with us on figuring out the issues we are having. So far, very pleased with the assistance we are getting. I'll keep you updated on the outcome of this situation. Was told when I had the transmission rebuilt ~2.5 years ago (and ~30k miles ago), that it would last LONGER than the original factory transmission (which had ~120K miles on it). It failed. There are metal shavings found in the fluid when valve body was removed, an indication of a high mileage transmission. If it was fully rebuilt and truly only has 30k miles on it, it should not show as many metal shavings as it is. I have doubts about how complete of a repair/rebuild was done. AND IT IS NOT CHEAP. read more

I was told by the guy that my cat threw all the codes and I needed my tranmisson opened for 600$ then from there he could asses the damage. He never even checked the fluid. Well I got with a guy from Milstead and he ran his scanner and it showed a transmisson pump code and a park code. We'll after i bought all the parts and fluid my at home mechanic checked the fluid first. Guess what two quarts if fluid layer it was fixed. This dude at this location went on about being a vet and not ripping people off. Well after further investigation and speaking to several local people this place is nothing but a scam and they take hard earned money from people. I took my Jeep Wrangler in for a noise that couldn't be explained. The store manager (Donnie Lee) said if I could bring it out the following evening they could perform their 22 point diagnostic. This was going to cover pulling the pan, replacing the gasket on the pan, hooking up microphones to the vehicle for recording and analysis, etc... After the inspection left us with a big "?"... I was asked if they could spend $450 to pull the transmission and do a full inspection on everything from the flywheel to the rear drive shaft. I gave them the okay. After about a week they let me know I had several issues creeping up on me. This transmission has 250k miles so I wasn't shocked! We replaced all wearable parts in the tranny, replaced a missing part... Weird but I believe them, and replaced all front end components (TOB, DSC, Clutch, SS, etc...). We did a little haggling and settled on a reasonable price. I now have a nice transmission that runs smooth and has a twelve month warranty. Oh and they were very courteous and allowed me to bug them during the process to check on progress and see the wear and tear first hand. Everything was replaced with OEM parts. read more

I would not take my lawnmower to these guys. I took my truck to them to have the transmission rebuilt. 9 weeks later they told me it was ready. When I went to pick it up it was skipping gears worse than when I dropped it off. Several weeks later I finally got the truck back. They had a bunch of excuses along the way. They blamed Ford for giving them bad parts, told me their rebuilder was out sick, had issues getting the outsourced programming company to do the programming right. They told me they would reimburse me for my rental car and them backed out of that verbal commitment. Three months for a transmission rebuild is ridiculous no matter the reason or excuse. These guys don't have a clue what they are doing or how to handle customer service. If you go to this company, you are making a big mistake. read more

My transmission had been neutralizing here and there for about a week. I was told to bring it in and it could take up to 2 hours. By my suprise I was only there for an hour and found out it was a simple electrical shortage coming from my battery that was causing my transmission to slip. Had A Plus rebuild the transmission on my truck two weeks ago. After picking it up, the transmission leaked fluid. Took it back to them to fix the leak and was told the pan gasket was bad and they would replace it - great, no problem other than an inconvenience given I had to leave it overnight (after they had my truck for 5 days). However, upon picking it up (for the 2nd time), I noticed a change in the tone of my exhaust, so I took the truck to a local shop and an exhaust leak was found as a result of improper reassembly by A Plus. The shop also noticed that there was silicon all around the pan gasket, indicating that A Plus did not replace the gasket as they originally claimed and instead tried to band-aid the issue. The shop also confirmed with Ford that the gasket used was not OEM equipment as A Plus told me it would be. As a result, there is still a fluid leak. I refuse to let A Plus touch my truck again (for a 3rd time) so I approached the store to seek reimbursement for these repairs and David, the general manager, made it very clear that was not an option. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and use another shop. read more

Worst experience at any shop ever. Took one month for a trans overhaul on my car. The shop was so disorganized-cars everywhere! and constant excuses for delays. I was promised that my prized 70 mustang would be done in a few days and kept in the shop after closing...it wasn't. Instead the idiots left it outside over the weekend, unlocked with the keys inside..and lied about it! They ended up dismantling the hood pins because they couldn't figure out how to open the hood, they pulled the trans and had my new starter dragging on the cement. Their rebuild needed to be fixed again after 4 months. I opted to stay clear from this place and pay $900 at another shop to fix their mistake. STAY AWAY from here. read more

Update on what A+ did to my truck. After I left their shop, my car was shaking horribly, almost to the point of not being able to drive it. I took my car to a very honest mechanic in Montgomery and explained what had happened. The mechanic rolled under my truck and discovered that my drive shaft was installed incorrectly. I am lucky I didn't have an accident. On a H3, in order to access the pan, you have to disconnect the drive shaft. Here is the funny thing. The district manager claims his shop didn't touch my drive shaft. In a world of YouTube and internet, I suggest you do your homework before you claim your shop didn't touch it. You have to remove it!! Needless to say, I am out $107, but I am safe and my truck escaped severe damage. This picture is of an H3 pan.... what do you see off to the side with a rag tied around it??? Took my truck in for what felt like slack in the drive train. They determined that the rear end needed to be rebuilt. They told me it would cost $1,647 to rebuild it. During the time they had it I came across a solution on the internet that seemed to fit perfectly with the problem I was having. I declined the rear end rebuild because screw that. $1600 they're nuts. I gave them their fee of $295 dollars because apparently that's what it cost to diagnose the problem. Bulls^*#. I took my not repaired truck home with my wallet being 300 dollars lighter. I dropped the driveshaft and put teflon grease on the slip-joint. It fixed the problem beautifully. It cost me $8.27 and less than an hour of my time. Not to mention they ruined my brand new floor mats. I hate this place. They tried to take me for a sucker. I guess they kinda did. They got me for $300. Please avoid this place. Please. Screw you A+ Transmission. BTW, the rear has been performing just fine, always has. read more

These guys are amazing. They are so knowledgeable, and they go above and beyond with their expertise. Paul and Clay were patient to explain our car situation in layman's terms, and they kept us informed through the whole process. When we had an unrelated problem a couple weeks after getting the transmission repaired in our 2006 Toyota Sienna, they took a significant amount of time to help us figure it out and get it repaired. My friend told me I should bring my truck here when I noticed it becoming more and more jumpy during shifts. At first I was skeptical, but after reading more reviews online, I decided to bring it in. When I called first, I spoke to Daniel (I think he's the manager) who explained that in order to determine what was wrong, they'd need to do an inspection. Apparently, transmissions are comprised of several hundreds of parts and cost more than an engine; I had no idea, until they showed me my transmission on a table. Wow! It is crazy how complicated that looked. Anyway, they were able to fix it and my car is working great. I got it back about a month ago and haven't had any problems. I had APlus Transmission give me a rough estimate over the phone and decided that they were the best ones to do the job. Boy was I wrong. They wrecked my car by leaving it unattended and in neutral and it rolled down their driveway through their neighbors fence and damaged my vehicle. I arrived just after it happened and they told me what happened. I said I understand accidents happen as long as you take care of it no problem. I asked if they were going to turn into their insurance or how they were going to pay for damages. I asked because if they were going to use insurance I figured insurance would total it because it was a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. If it was going to total no sense in paying for a transmission. They told me they didn't want a claim and they worked with a body shop down the street and they would have that body shop come down and write an estimate and they would pay out of pocket. I said then proceed with transmission. Once repair was almost complete I called and they said they decided to turn into insurance and gave me the adjuster name and number. As I figured the insurance wanted to total it. So now they wanted to pay me less than what it was worth and they still wanted me to pay for the transmission. So this shop lied to me to get the work. So I called my insurance and they sent an adjuster who said you don't total this vehicle it is way to clean. My insurance paid to repair it except I had a deductible. Upon picking up my vehicle I looked under and saw the skid plate was missing completely. I asked for it and that it be installed. The mechanic was not happy but started grabbing bolts and putting it on. I was standing there and heard his air wrench bind and I said sir you are cross threading the bolts because those are not the correct bolts. I know this because I service the vehicle myself because it has greasable u-joints and to grease them you have to drop the skid plate. On telling the mechanic that he goes and gets the manager and they ask me to leave the shop, so I said just forget the skid plate I will buy the correct bolts and install myself. So then my insurance went to their insurance and after 9 months got their money back and my deductible back. So DO NOT USE this shop and save yourself a-lot of headaches. read more

Originally brought my Trailblazer to the dealer because I was hearing a grinding noise. They wanted $3,000 to have the transmission replaced. A friend used A Plus transmission before and seemed pleased so I decided to check them out for a second opinion.
