I went here to have my plugged ears checked because I had problems on a recent flight. I was the first patient of the day and after a very brief exam, the doctor had an assistant remove wax from my right ear only. I asked why not both and was told I didn't need it. Two days later on another flight my ears nearly exploded because I couldn't get them to unplug. I went to my own doctor when I returned and was given antibiotics and they removed wax from both ears this time. They collected my co-pay and my insurance paid the contracted amount. Then the good doctor billed me for another $39 for a treatment that didn't even fix one ear. Go any place but here. Terrible treatment and complete inaccurate diagnosis. read more

My daughter put a berry in her ear so far that it blocked her hearing. I took her here and I had to call the number on the door first in order to give all of the basic information from outside in the car that way we are not in the waiting room with other people. When they were ready for us they called us into the waiting room and shortly took us back. The staff in the front were very professional and friendly. Last night we saw Mr. Bash (I believe he was a P.A.) and he was also great. He came in and made a few jokes which calmed my daughter down before he extracted the berry. We went in at 4:50p on a Friday. The rude receptionist stated they were closed. Ok... your business hours says 5pm. If you're "closed" at 4:50pm you should lock your door and state that you close at 4:30p. Took my sick kid in after I did the "online check in" getting text messages non stop saying we were next in line after waiting at home for 2 hours, then we get there and we are told the "online" system is down and they didn't get my info and to sign in. I sign in and asked the estimated wait time and they just gave me a look like I was insane.... or an idiot. Either way, that is not an unusual thing to ask at an urgent care. The nurses? receptionists? were pretty sour, like they couldn't be bothered. They were unapologetic about the long wait. We waited for 2 hours in those uncomfortable chairs and I never saw any of the other 10 people waiting get called back. I saw one family leave, but that was it. I wondered if a Dr was even back there! My son was miserable with a fever and sore throat and begged me to leave. I called the insurance co. they said it was active. I went back to A+ offering to have the insurance co. call them to sort it out, but they would not see me. OK now I'm mad as hell. Most likely, you will only see a nurse practitioner, not a doctor. That's fine for something minor or if you don't have insurance and you need to pay cash. (I believe it's a little more than $100 for a cash visit.) But the truth is you would be better off establishing yourself with a real Dr. in the area. I know it's hard to find a good Dr. in Sun City, but since it's your health we're talking about, the extra time in finding someone would be worth it. I've gone here a few times and they were wrong about some things. So now I only see actual doctors for anything medical. You should only use this center for rare occasions when you need to start antibiotics right away and can't get in to see your regular doctor. read more

Went in for a sinus headache that I'd had for almost one week, which from past experience I knew may be an infection. I should have turned around and walked out immediately and called my regular MD in Costa Mesa. I went here for the sole convenience of location and the fact I was in so much pain. The place was, to put it kindly, old, run down and dirty (the reviewer who said it was really clean must live in a pig sty). One woman was really nice, but the PA I saw was rude and told me "there's nothing wrong with you" (the disgust in her voice could have been cut with a knife) but could not offer any explanation for the one week sinus headache. She gave me a prescription for antibiotics but not because I had a sinus infection; yes, she actually said that. I filled the prescription and miraculously the headache went away. read more

We visited this Urgent care today for my 12 year old daughter. The light haired tall girl at the front desk was so rude and completely out of line. She was so rude her male co worker apologized to my husband for this girls behavior. He was so sweet to our daughter and showed real compassion. This girl needs to re visit her MA training and customer service skills. I am not sure what has happened at this urgent regarding patient satisfaction. Clearly by employing this girl they don't care too much about making their clients happy. So we will be changing Urgent cares due to this woman's lack of manners and professionalism. I took my 92 year old mom in for a UTI on a Saturday morning. We were in and out in one hour. The staff were delightful. Very courteous and professional. The PA was very attentive to my Mom. I had to pay cash for the visit has Mom had misplaced her ID. When I called to their billing office to get the necessary information to complete a claim form to submit for payment Chris took care of everything. She did the billing and will send the refund to me. I am so impressed with this facility. Hopefully, I don't have to take my Mom in again but if I do I certainly will take her back to A+ Urgent Care in Sun City. read more

I've been a BIG fan of A+ Urgent Care in treating MINOR physical maladies. Appointments for primary care physicians are a luxury these days, usually for follow-up, prevention, check ups. When something goes awry, sprains, flu, sports physicals for my son, they are quick, run affordable diagnostics (xrays/labs), prescribe meds and suggest follow up w/primary care physician. I was RELIEVED to find A+ in Sun City, as I frequented the Murrieta clinic when I lived there, on an as-needed basis. Always professional and caring. read more

I do NOT like Ana Rios I have never seen someone so horrible with kids. I am a huge fan. 1st visit. This was really close so worth a try. The staff is warm & friendly. We really lucked out because we didn't experience a wait at all...maybe 5-10 mins after filling out paperwork. The doctor was Super!!! She was compassionate, caring & listened well offering genuine support for the patient. A definite keeper. ps also witnessed the doc refer another patient to another nearby office and literally walked him there to personally introduce. Who does that??? When Kaiser (who we pay too much for) couldn't offer any help to my one year old's puffy face and eyes, I came here. The woman doctor is fantastic. She ordered an antihistamine and suggestions, and the next day my baby was back up and runnin. The waiting room is usually full with random people complaining. That's the only downfall. read more

What a disappointment! I don't have insurance and I have been coming to this urgent care for a couple years to have my prescription for thyroid refilled . I have them draw my blood every 6 months to check my levels . Not only do they make me pay monthly just to refill .. they raised the $85 service fee to $125 ! As a business owner I'm a bit surprised that they would have that high of an increase . The Sun City area is mostly seniors and I really feel they are taking advantage of the patients that are mostly regular customers. Shame on the owner who ever you are ! It's unfortunate that people in the medical profession, when always seeing patients at their worst ( afraid, sick, vulnerable and sometimes very defensive) they tend to not see the person and treat them all the same. The PA I saw was very sweet. But the office staff needs some PR inservicing. A little compassion can go a long way. I was extremely ill with bronchitis and asked the receptionist for some water. She said that they didn't have any. Seriously? What do they drink during their 10hr. shift? I asked if it was possible to lay down in the room I was to be seen in and she again said 'No, sorry'. this place is horrible. took my teen for an ingrown toe nail. they removed part of her nail and said stay off sports for 7 days and sent us home with pain meds and antibiotic. they made her sick and doc took over a day just to fax pharmacy new meds . its been a week and still cant walk let alone play. i do some net research and find out its more like 2 to 3 weeks and she should be soaking it daily. doc never said that. never go there again and now she misses game opener and the first tourny. thanks read more

I needed urgent services today (Sunday) and looked at websites of Urgent Cares near my area that are open on the weekends. A+ Urgent Care company websites says they are open Sat -Sun 9am-5pm. I drove over there and guess what, they are close. Sign on the door only says Sat 9am- 2pm. WTF! you would think they would change the hours on the website or at least put their hours on their telephone message. VERY INCONVINIENT! to make it worse, they left the OPEN marquee sign ON! read more

I wish I can give negative stars. I went in today and was seen by the PA Kathleen at the Sun City location. She looked in my chart and recommended a medicine I was prescribed previously to treat my sickness. I agreed, she wrote my prescription and I was on my way. I drop it off to the pharmacy and call later to see if it was ready. They then say no because it wasn't able to be verified. I looked at my prescription she not only wrote my address wrong she also wrote my birth date wrong and the office location wrong. So the pharmacy couldn't get in touch with anyone so it wasn't filled ! I then call the urgent care and the receptionist said she will call the pharmacy. I then call the pharmacy back and the pharmacist said the PA completely changed my prescription. She changed it without my consent which is 100% against the law and a breach of my informed consent aka (malpractice) ! I will be contacting the AMA, the board of PA's and my insurance company to report her. If her and the other staff members weren't so busy gossiping in the hallway outside my door she might not have made any mistakes. read more
