When the gentleman arrived and I explained him the problem, this was his estimate:$96.00 to go there and asses the problem, then $96.00 for the technician to go back to his office (My place is 18 miles from there) total $192.00 plus parts and labor if I do the job. About $450 to $500, maybe. The person who I told to was very nice, but for that money I can buy a brand new one with 5 years warranty. We had a new HVAC system installed by Grande Aire a couple of weeks ago. The job was well done by a…read moreteam of professionals and we were very pleased. However, after a couple of weeks the cooling performance fell off and I called to ask to have the system checked. Kevin from the Englewood team arrived a couple of hours later, explained what we could do to make the system work better and then checked out the operating parameters. He determined that while it was working, it wasn't up to spec and went looking for the problem. He found a fitting that had vibrated loose enough to allow a slow coolant leak so he called for more coolant. A few minutes later, Mason arrived and the two of them tightened the fitting, recharged the system and then stayed past 6:00PM to be sure the system was working properly. The total charge for the service call, the coolant and the time was zero. Just an assurance from both men that Grande Aire is committed to our satisfaction. We a BIG fans!!

I dropped it off and explained clearly that I didn't want to put a lot of money into repairs, if it was too expensive, I'd just buy a new mower. I also asked if they could check on warranty coverage or if welding was an option. They are a Toro dealer. After not hearing back a few days, I called and was told they had done a "full diagnostic" and that repairs would cost $375 on a mower that cost $500 new. On top of that, they charged me $50 just to tell me the mower wasn't worth fixing. The entire assessment took seconds, no actual work was done, and at no point was I told there would be a fee. If I had known, I would never have authorized it. Instead, I was blindsided with a charge for information I already suspected: that it wasn't worth repairing. I caution any one for going to this place. They do not care about their customers and I will NEVER go back there. This was one of the dumbest business decisions to fleece me for 50 bucks. I will tell everyone I know not to go to this place.
