This is THE only option for a car rental in the NOLA area. I came in from out of town for a family wedding up in Jackson. James was extremely proactive returning my phone call and accommodating our needs. We talked a few times leading up to the trip and each time he was so nice and respectful. He even went the extra mile and helped me look for a safe place to park my parents vehicle (they drove down to meet us) while we stayed the weekend in NOLA. JAMES SAVED OUR VACATION. We were in NOLA for Christmas and one thing on our list to do was rent a car and drive over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and hit a couple other further out places on the one day with the car. We didn't pre-book because we were waiting to see what the weather was like. We decided to rent a car on Christmas Eve, but of course the AVIS near our hotel had no cars available and a three page waitlist. We called every chain car rental place and they were all sold out within 20 miles of where we were. We called A Priority One after seeing that they were family owned on Google, and he quickly took all of our info over the phone, hopped on a quick call with my insurance to verify that i had the proper coverage, and brought the car directly to our hotel within an hour. He said we could just text him the next day whenever we were finished with the car, and he would come pick it up, and that's exactly how it worked. He got us a car when no one else could, and provided excellent service, dropping it off and picking it up at our location. I would absolutely rent from A Priority One again if i were to need a car in New Orleans. read more

I and some of my family vacationed in New Orleans in early May of 2024. While planning the trip, I noticed that reviews of the NOLA Airport Rental Car Center were only two stars on average. People talked about really long delays, and promised cars turning out not to be available. Looking for an alternative, I found A Priority One Rent-A-Car and, what a difference in rating, a five-star average! James Washington was awesome. He took care of everything, and was always a real pleasure to deal with. Any time I tried to get in touch with him, he got back to me right away. He met us at the airport, right outside of baggage claim, drove us to a parking lot a few minutes away, quickly went through the paperwork and inspection, told us which way to go to get started toward town, and we were off without a hitch. In NOLA we only need a one day rental and James offered us with special pricing and brought the car to our location and then met us near the airport to drop us off at the terminal. These guys are amazing. Had problems getting a rental from the big chains and anything I could get was extortionate. I looked online for a local company and A1 popped up. The clincher was the reviews that were so positive! Mr James at first didn't have anything for me but graciously gave me some other local contracts to try. Nothing worked out, but he was able to move things around so that I could get a car. He drove it over to where I was staying and picked it up at the end...and I know he does airport pickups as well. Don't really want to share them in case it means I might miss out in the future, but really you gotta share people like this...good local family business...definitely give them a call! read more

Decided to go with a local business with all the recent stress of big name chains not having cars available, increased rates due to limited stock and long lines at the airport. I am SO happy I did. Mr. Washington was amazing. He picked me up at the airport in the rental car, drove just outside the airport, looked over the rental car, reviewed and signed paperwork. Easy process. Due to the flooding incidents in Baton Rogue all the major car rentals (Herz, Enterprise, etc...) were sold out so we ended up renting from A Priority One...and that was the best idea ever! We were very impressed with how focused they were on making us (and others, judging by prior reviews) feel like family, all while maintaining a fantastic sense of professionalism and quality in their service. Miss Washington and her family run this car rental service. We highly recommend them to anyone. We have slight credit issues and all they require is a cash deposit. They met us at the airport, drove us to a gas station across the street, we filled out paperwork and we were off. You have a choice of filling the tank or not and the car is more likely to blend in with the locals. No shiny, brand new Navigator please! Challenges in the holiday season sent me to a company I heard on my favorite radio station.With no rental cars available,and my car breaking down on me,I needed a rental.By January 6,no repairs done on my car ,I called A-Priority.Fast prompt service,the car picked me up at home. Unfortunately my return was not so pleasant.The owner came out and noticed a scratch on the driver bumper.It seemed to be an old spot and some paint scrapes small,hard to notice.A video was made the day I got the car but,it was dark and rainy,the video wasn't very clear.We scanned the car making sure to note the visible scratches on the driver door.I took responsibility for the scratches,as the owner took pictures of the contact(damage).?Quit enough he's taken a picture and sent it to his body and fender person, almost immediately the guy responds $300.00, my heart dropped,patted my chest and thought,breath.The owner called another body and fender guy,he sent the picture to that person,his response was I can't see it bring it in but then he quoted $150.00 of which the owner accepted and immediately charged it to me before the technican even saw the job.Lesson,never rent a car in the dark.Check car thoroughly, making your own pictures,in the light.Download the Uber App. read more
