The reason I was given was that…read morethe vet "couldn't remember which leg the bump was on, so she removed bumps from his front two legs", that weren't there and weren't bothering him. When I took him for his dental appointment and bump removal, I showed the tech the bump on his back left foot (that was stained from him licking at it and that the vet supposedly looked at when he was there a couple weeks before.) They also showed me a broken tooth at the visit a couple weeks before, which was the determining factor for me scheduling the procedure. When I dropped him off I was told the doctor would call me when she was done. Not only did NO ONE call me, but I called them to ask if he was done at 5:15pm to find out, "Oh he's been done, no one called you?" So, I rush to go pick him up and find out not only did they not remove the small bump they were supposed to, but that instead he has staples and chunks of both is front legs taken out. WHAT did they do to my baby boy? They were trying to close and rushed me out the door with him without giving me any of the medications and when I went back to the door to get them, they had already locked the door and I had to bang to get them to open it back up and they questioned me, trying to convince me they had given me his meds.. Fiinally, they gave me his meds and I left. (BTW they shorted him on the meds they gave him, they did not last as long as they said they would and he ran out.) I was told Dr. Sara White would call me that Monday, SHE NEVER HAS CALLED ME. Clearly I don't trust her to touch my boys again and I emailed and requested their records. The records they sent weren't the right records for each dog and again they tried to convince me they were. Finally, I get the records, I still have not received the xrays I paid for the day of the surgery and have requested SEVERAL times, but even their office notes are wrong! At the visit they showed me his broken tooth (the note does not reflect this) and determined he needed dental cleaning and the bump removal, says the bump was on the right hind leg, (it's always been the left back foot) it also said he had light tartar (They showed me different) and no broken or fractured teeth (yeah they showed me that too.) This place used to be nice, but since I've seen Sara White my trust in this clinic is gone. I noticed even when we were in visits with her, she was always dismissive to anything I said. She would ask a question and then just dismiss the answer. I thought maybe I was being sensitive, but now that I look back. I should have known better and NEVER SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED HER with my baby boy!

The "enrichment" time she claims the dogs receive is actually 10 minutes or less for each rotation. "Enrichment" being movie time, story time or having the dogs participate in limbo. She does not check or care if your pet is ill or up to date on vaccines. She will let dogs with expired vaccines continue to come in. Vaccines including rabies, distemper, parvo, and boardetella. Dogs are always sneezing and coughing and ALWAYS in very small dirty kennels. The kennels do not always get cleaned daily (which leads to the spreading of infectious diseases) and they clean the kennels by spraying with disinfectant and water then vacuuming up all of the water. They do not scrub the kennels so there is still caked on dirt/waste in every single kennel. When they do get let outside they are not always being watched regardless of what she says. She is a liar and a manipulater. She is in this field for the money and will create every excuse possible to make sure her business stays running. She is rarely even there and when she is all she does is pretend to know all the dogs that come here daily all week long!! The employees sit inside while the dogs are outside in the FREEZING cold with no shelter. Dogs have died from escaping or being choked to death by tight slip leads and the employees responsible for this still ACTIVELY WORK THERE TODAY. She will let your dogs play in group with injures and not inform you until you pick your dog up and see it for yourself. These poor animals do not deserve this treatment. If you board here please reconsider. The staff is not being paid what they are promised and fights happen all the time. All of the vents and drains are covered in mold. (Call and schedule a free tour to see for yourself) If the staff is outside with the dogs they are not aloud to kneel or sit down and pet them because it could cause fights (resource gaurding). I have worked at many kennels professionally for 3 years and this is not the way to run any facility. Your pets deserve love and basic care with transparency to the owners, not lying and cheating you out of your money. YOU ARE NOT GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'm not reviewing out of hate but out of safety and love for these poor dogs. This is ABUSE. I'm not sure what more I can do or who to call. There are plenty of other reviews like mine right here, on yelp, facebook and on indeed. If you would like other suggestions there are plenty more loving and professional dog boarding and daycare facilities in RVA. If you don't believe me go take a tour of the whole facility, look at the ceiling vents, go in the kennel room you will see. They don't get water. How is that ok for weeks on end? If your dog is boarding they are only letting them out for water 4 times a day. If they are in daycare they only get water twice a day. If your dog is sick she won't tell you. She will make up excuses and tell you not to bring them to the vet?? 3 employees have quit in the past 24 hours bceuase of poor management, lack of communication, and mistreatment. I have already contacted the better business bureau and other resources for further investigation. If you have any information or other experiences please comment to help save these poor pups. Dr. Stratton makes sure to take as much time as is necessary with every patient, explains things very thoroughly, and is just all around a wonderful person. Dr. Hall is also super nice, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The front desk workers and the vet techs (I'm blanking on names right now, though I think one is named Chelsea and one is named Emily) are all wonderful. I've legitimately considered going in either by myself or with one of my cats just to say hi and chat and share kitty lovins. Their prices are also incredibly reasonable. Even for bigger things, like a cat dental cleaning with extractions and X-rays, is less than $2,000, while the same thing at other places I looked was $4,000-5,000. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Mustache and skirt in tact. That extra $10 charge was well worth my boo looking sweet as ever. Pet Smart should send their groomers to train under your groomer. They scalp our dogs regardless of their condition. Can't wait until our puppies hair grows back so we can take her back to Farmers for a schnauzer cut from a real "PRO!!!"
