Ben was great to work with and delivered on a high quality pool fence for us and we highly recommend Baby Barrier Pool Fence. Our neighbor across the street recommended Ben to me, after they had their pool fence installed and I had spent a lot of time researching other companies. Ben was able to provide a quote based on photos and pool size, then the final cost ended up being lower than the quote, since he charges based on actual materials used, which was nice. My two biggest concerns getting a fence installed was (1) our irregular-shaped pool deck/patio and what the fence line shape would look like, and (2) will my pebble aggregate pool deck get damaged from the drilling? In both cases, Ben was able to create an amazing pool fence line that preserves walking around inside and outside the pool fence, and the concrete coring drill that he used was fantastic. It drilled perfectly through the concrete and rocks...so there were no rock chips. (See photos for an example of a perfectly drilled hole). We have used this fence all summer and we can say that it was a high quality fence and installation! I went with this company a couple of years ago bc of the 5 star rating. I called and sent in pictures and I got a quote over the phone. The quote seemed fair so we proceeded but once he came over to my house in Los Altos he suddenly added another 1/2 of the quote prices as "taxes". I don't know how taxes can be 50% of the price. I felt like he saw my address and decided to add on another additional price. I couldn't understand it so I called my husband and had him talk to the guy on the phone. He kept saying that we were "family" and he wouldn't screw over his "family". But we're NOT family. I just met the guy! We were livid but he said it was "taxes" and there's nothing he could do about it. We had just moved in and had small children so we just needed the pool to be gated so we unwillingly just went with it. With the guarantee I felt like I couldn't leave a bad review otherwise he wouldn't come fix our pool gate if there were problems! But now that we've moved out of that house I'm leaving an HONEST review. If he marks up the price, RUN! A product is good as long as it's serviced. The supporting sleeves are of poor quality and it got damaged the very first time I tried to remove the pole and put it back. Tried requesting a service several times and was always refused with some or the other excuse - though I was assured during purchase that services are free anytime for lifetime. Now the pole stands half inserted into the sleve, but luckily close enough to be closed. Here is my advise if you wish to install one: If you can service these things all by yourself, you might consider. We have so much peace of mind now that our one year old can run around our backyard without access to the pool, it's so nice to let her play freely while we sit outside and not have to worry about her and chase her around the entire time. The installation was quick and only took a couple of hours. We have a very oddly shaped pool and the fence fits perfectly around it without taking away any additional space from our backyard. It is easy to get in and out of the gate and I like that it can be locked with a key. we keep the fence up pretty much all the time, we have only taken it down and put it back up once.
