We came here for the first time on family night. It was such a good idea and event to get families swimming and enjoying pool time. Kids of all ages were swimming. Older kids easily made friends and played with the provided floaties and pool toys. The staff was attentive, life guards were on stand by the entire event. I've taken my kids to lessons here for the past ~2 years. Over time they've had several different instructors and have progressed far beyond the basics of swimming. They love the 20 minute classes and the "free play" in the shallow pool before lessons! Every instructor we've had does a great job of explaining what the child learned during their lesson and what they still need to work on. Been taking my daughter here since she was about 10 months old. She is now backstroking the entire pool at the tender age of 3. Her swim instructor was Nallely and I have absolutely nothing but the best words to describe my daughter's experience with her. We started with her in the Parent and Me classes and continued all the way through to private lessons for the next 2.5 years. Nallely was like water itself. She adapted to my daughter's needs every single lesson throughout our time together. She was patient when my daughter was fussy, encouraging when she was afraid, playful when she was bored and firm when she needed it. She went above and beyond every single class for us. She even left us borrow her personal underwater camera to use for pictures and videos during one of the lessons. My daughter went from being afraid of the water to constantly asking when will she get to swim with Nallely again. As a parent, words cannot express my joy seeing my child's progress and becoming so passionate and safe in the water. If I didn't have to move because of work, we would probably be coming here for to swim with Nallely forever. She made him feel really comfortable in the pool and he has improved so much just for weekly lessons for a couple months. We've been going here for a little over a year, and my four-year-old started off really scared of the water. Now she is thriving and so excited for her swim lessons! We've tried a lot of different coaches, and they've all been amazing. Our standouts are Toni, who helped us through the hardest phase of fear where my daughter would cry every lesson. Toni was firm and still working on the basics while helping her build her confidence and being so patient. Our other favorite is Francisco, who is so fun and jovial and really gets her excited about lessons and she doesn't even realize she's learning. These two are amazing! Fantastic Birthday Experience at Waterworks We had our first ever (pool) birthday party for my 7 year old last night. Honestly, I went in a little nervous on how it would turn out to be and came out extremely happy as a host. The kids had a blast and the parents were happy that they had a different birthday experience. My child has been a student at the location since beginning of this year and it was on her insistence that we chose it as our venue. I had other ideas but she was adamant. :-) Venue + People: Nancy (the event coordinator) was very responsive and coordinated every detail for our reservation, until a day before so that we were all covered. Kathy (host) at Waterworks Bascom location was so cheerful and gracious throughout the 2.5 hours - constantly checking with me to make sure all is going well. Ms. Shay, Ms. Leilany (who are amazing instructors themselves) along with Nolan were there to make sure kids are safe and happy. ‍ Pool & Games: The kids had an absolute blast in the pool! The water activities and games kept them entertained -- perfectly organized and age-appropriate. The pool is heated so it was hard to get them out when it was time (a happy outcome to a host! ;-)) Food: We got our own food - for both kids and adults. We had help setting them up and also to pass the cake. From setup to cleanup, the Waterworks team made it all effortless. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. My daughter is really enjoying her swimming classes here! Instructor Aurora is awesome--she is patient, encouraging, and great with kids. I've seen a noticeable improvement in my daughter's confidence and comfort in the water, and she looks forward to every class. The only concern I have is regarding the cleanliness of the bathroom area. It would be great if this could be maintained more regularly to match the quality of the classes. Waterworks Aquatics at Bascom's facilities are clean, indoors, offer plentiful seating with spacious showers/changing areas, and provide balmy pool waters that don't chatter your children's teeth and turn their lips blue during the lesson. Parking is easy. Its administrative staff is cheerful, ready to help, and greets us each time we come in and out of the pool area. But the MVP darling of Waterworks is a swim instructor we happened upon for our first lesson. Little did we know that the front desk would exclaim that Nallely is the best, and we would later find that Nallely has a waitlist because she is highly requested by parents. Nallely is exceptional: she built rapport with my extremely slow-to-warm daughter who cried and refused to enter the pool, then had my daughter smiling and practicing kicks and floats mid-lesson. Nallely loves her students, swimming, and teaching - she cannot contain her joyful but not overwhelming enthusiasm. Nallely makes every child feel like they are the most important person in the room. Nallely is experienced in water safety, stroke formation, and communicating with children. Nallely works hard, is punctual, warm, honest, funny, and will give parents a full report at the lesson's end. Our children have had strict swim instructors who run drills only, and our children have had lenient/nice swim instructors who just play with water toys and burn time. Nallely combines work and fun flawlessly; she expects her students to work and progress but also while having fun. My daughter looks forward to swim lessons with Nallely every week - she gets herself ready. I have countless videos of my daughter grinning and laughing while learning new swim skills with Nallely. In just a few short months, Nallely has taught my 4 year old water safety, rollover breathing, and is beginning freestyle in the bigger pool with beautiful form. My daughter has been going to Waterworks Aquatics for over two years now, and she absolutely loves it. She makes me feel very safe and comfortable in the water, which was my biggest concern starting out. She is fantastic at connecting with the kids and always takes the time to debrief with us after each session. We've been with Waterworks since 2019, and all three of my kids have had the joy of swimming with Francisco. My two older children are currently in Stroke Clinic, and my youngest son has been taking lessons with Francisco for over a year now. I honestly can't recommend him enough. He truly loves kids and has a natural gift for making them feel comfortable in the water. He has such a fun and creative way of explaining things that keeps my kids fully engaged. He's incredibly sweet and patient, and my youngest trusted him very quickly--even when he first started swimming at just one year old! Now, my son is completely at ease in the water, which means so much to me. Water safety is absolutely essential in our family because we spend a lot of time at the pool and beach. Updating my review! Our son has been seeing Nallely and Meleah since he was an infant. They are very patient and skillful working with him. We now have our baby daughter taking Nallely's parent and me classes. She was very comfortable in the water and took to Nallely happily. This isn't the best private training you can get. Neither is the price competitive for you to settle. I suggest look elsewhere. The instructors at waterworks are definitely not as experienced. You might end up with a new instructor every lesson if you don't make sure to book in advance. Also - they rush you. If you're fearful of swimming this isn't the place to start. Their approach is "just do it". They don't have a standard approach per instructor either. For example my first instructor attempted back float and said it was essential before we learn anything else and the second lesson was a different instructor and she could care less about the back float. The people are nice. The showers are cold. If you're new to swimming you need people with patience to teach you. Familiarize you with water. And there's just not enough time in a 20 min rushed class to do it. read more

He looks for his strengths and uses them to help him learn. After each session he debreifs and let's me know the progress he sees and what he will be working on for the next session. The instructors are good but the business and customer service is what bothers me. Especially the whole scam they play with makeup lessons and freezes. Makeup lessons are advertised for customer cancellations, but when instructors cancel, they issue the same credit--which is far more restrictive. You can only book within 7 days, can't use them for recurring books, and must keep a paid future lesson just to use it. So you have a regular lesson - waterworks cancels any time (no 2 hour restriction like customers) - you are offered a downgraded lesson. This is not an equivalent replacement--it's a downgrade in value. Seems such a dumb policy. If the business cancels, shouldn't they offer the customer exactly what they had before? Why downgrade? And then they'll sell a freeze for $10 to convert your makeup to a regular lesson! Make sure you understand this before enrolling. read more

Great place to learn how to swim for young kids. VERY inclusive and positive. The only frustrating aspect is that classes are back to back, which gives the instructors zero time to go from one pool/lesson to another. Protocol dictates that they update the parent on their child's progress, but that eats into the next lesson. Some instructors go into so much detail on what the child needs to work on that I'm tempted to answer with "oh ok! Let me bring my kid back to my private pool to practice keeping their toes in the water" Im sure most of us are out here because we don't have a pool at home. Just tell me my kid is learning to float on their back and roll to stomach and move on to the next lesson. I don't need a 3 minute entry on every skill they worked on. There's been multiple lessons that have been cut short by 5 minutes because of this. And the lessons are only 20 minutes. read more

If you want a coach who can truly transform your kids' skills, look for Ms. Mariana at Waterworks Aquatics. She has been training our two boys for the last two years and she is a true gold! We switched here from another swim school in San Jose when our youngest was 4 and terrified of the water and oldest skill improvement was slow; With unmatched patience, Ms. Mariana completely turned things around, the tears were gone in less than two weeks for young one and the old one got to level 12 within couple of months. Within five months, our boys went from absolute beginners to competitive swimmers, winning first place and bringing home time improvement ribbons and trophies! They now train with her three days a week. Our boys have completely opposite personalities, but she knows exactly how to handle and motivate each of them And that's one thing to emphasize; She doesn't miss a thing, constantly fine-tuning their strokes and diving while keeping it fun. Beyond being an elite coach, she feels like family. She is so invested in the kids that she even attends their birthday parties, which the boys always insist on hosting right there at the Waterworks pool; she truly make them happy! We took our daughter here who was about 1.5 years old at the time. We moved from Southern California and she had been doing swim school (Aqua Tots) since she was 4 months old. We were looking for a new swim school and heard mixed reviews on this one so we decided to give it a try - and I wish we didn't. The class started late, it was supposed to start at 10am but we didn't start until closer to 10:10-10:15. She would give very fast instruction on what to do, and then seemed like she was trying to teach another class at the same time and then would leave and then would come back and do the same thing. She then gave us little flotation devices that literally had mold on them and I didn't feel comfortable giving it to my daughter because of it. The lesson lasted about 15 mins with the instructor going back and fourth between our class and another. We paid $38 for a 15 minute swim class. Like previously stated, she had been doing swim for a while so we had expectations of what a good swim class should be, and this wasn't it. It just seemed dirty, poorly kept, and unorganized.
