Hi, I gave my road test on 25th Aug 2013. I received a paper from the lady sitting in the back seat... Stating that I was failed ...need to take more classes as I stopped in the middle of the road for no reason". I don't understand how can a person from driving school (lady in the back seat) decide whether test taker is passed or failed? It should be from RMV person. First of all, test should be on point basis. While I am yielding to enter street from parking lot, I waited a little longer than usual, as it's a test. If it's a mistake there should be only point deduction. Both the lady and examiner were rude... They didn't even bother to speak properly. It's their minimum responsibility to speak properly. This review is from a former student, not a competitor! Let me start off by mentioning that I am a few years older than the average driving student. For that reason, my review is based solely on my experience taking road lessons with Sharon Driving School as I did not need the classroom hours. To say that my road lessons left a lot to be desired would be an understatement. I would be able to forgive the frequent late pickups if my lessons were substantial enough to help me pass the road test, but that was not the case. Backing up the vehicle in a straight line was not even mentioned until at least my seventh, rushed lesson with Sharon Driving School. That's right seven hours before learning one of the most basic manuevers one can execute behind the wheel. If you have a lot of free time and deep pockets and decide to take lessons with Sharon Driving School, be prepared for a lot of drop off and pick up of high school students, while being rushed to get your lesson over and done with. I was told to drive faster because "we have to get someplace", a few times and sensed frustration when I didn't pull off a manuever perfectly after completing it once, with instruction. When your hour is up, and you are being transported home, you have the pleasure of listening to in depth discussions of high school life between the instructor and frequent customers. Instead of some guided observation of driving habits, I think I learned more about life at Sharon or Canton High than I did about the rules of the road. No frustration or impatience there, those students are where the big bucks are! When you make out your check to Sharon Driving School, just remember to put enough aside for a new pair of sneakers, a bike, or a T pass because chances are you'll still need them after your lessons. read more

Well let's just say that I am not happy with the Sharon Driving School femail rep nor the registry rep they utilized this past week end. First the RMV rep is late. My daughter is super nervous and asks the instructor to practice while they wait she is told to just put her thinking cap on. The RMV woman obviously does not want to be there and is snappy right off the bat(I have my window down and can hear her) my daughter again super nervous goes to paralell park and before she can finish is told to try again. Well she proceeds to loop around the lot to try again. Nope snappy I did not say to loop around just go. Proceeded to call her a dangerous driver she has not clue who taught her to drive. They pushed my test date up NUMEROUS times and they never even had the decency to call me after I payed almost $200 dollars for it, and I am convinced that these idiotic people are racist don't have a kind bone in thier body. Unreal!!!!! I had called a few months ago and was told they pick up in my town. Now they are saying they do not because they are too busy. Ok, I am reasonable. I call to see how close to my town they pick up. So she lists out towns that are nowhere near my town. Finally lists a town nearby. Then says the highschool there which is not nearby. So I am trying to talk to see if there is a closer location and she (Gillie or whatever) is rudely interrupting me and telling me that it cant just be a random location. So I interrupt her back saying excuse me, to try to explain that I wasn't looking for a random location, just some place closer. And she starts yelling at me that how dare I say excuse me to her and that she will refund me and I can find somewhere else. So I ask to speak to her manager or someone else and was told there is no one else! She owns the business. Great! What a great business owner. Maybe get someone else to manage your customer service, lady. So I say, fine refund my money immediately. This is ridiculous. So she says, send her an email and hangs up on me while I continued to say, no just refund my money now. Do not use Sharon. So rude. We already paid them $600!!!! I do not feel confident we will get that money back now! I will be contacting the better business bureau and my attorney now. Awesome. read more

Rude, unprofessional, and gets the driving times wrong, addresses wrong and then blames you! She changes the times of the classes, ends class early so that the kids are standing out in the cold, and then extends the Saturday class at the last minute so you have to change your plans for the day so that you can be around for pickup. The owner stayed in the car with him and criticized his driving while the tester was observing. She did this so that my son would have to go back for more lessons. How incredibly unethical. As an over 18 driver, I came to them looking for practice with parallel parking and 3 point turns only to spend the the vast majority of my time driving around town despite constantly asking to do more precision work. The instructors are lazy and on their cell phones half of the time they are suppose to be teaching. Even when they are paying attention, they give terrible direction. I am writing to share my recent experience (Aug 2015) with Sharon Driving School, Sharon. First interaction went fine and I took training & a refreshers class with them. I could not clear the road test and i was fine with it because it helped me understand my weak points. However, second time i met the owner and she was too rude to talk to in person. I requested her to appoint a good instructor this time to make sure I take care of weak points (Well, I have more than 18 years of driving experience in other countries of the world). She did not respond professionally. On the day of test in refreshers class also, I found the instructor more irritated then helpful. Each instructor taught a different style of parallel parking confusing the learner more. The point I am trying to make here is being a driver training school, I do not see consistency in teaching style. The maneuvers that instructor approves, were otherwise rejected by Inspector. It shows, there is some issue with the way they teach. One should not be allowed to appear in the road test if instructor feels one is not ready. This will help save money for the learner and the reputation of the driving school. My intention of going through a driving school is to make sure i understand driving rules and maneuver. It was not helpful going through Sharon Driving School as the instructions are otherwise also available on you tube. read more

My daughter was dropped off at a hotel in a different town after they told her the car was too full and left there for 20 mins. With a boy she didn't know. She was then picked up by a different driver who she had never met and driven home at over 80 miles an hour!!! I filed charges with the police! read more

Everyone was very nice to me when I emailed them about scheduling a road test. On the day of my test, I was taken about 15 minutes earlier than I was scheduled which was nice and the test was very easy, basic driving knowledge, and the examiner and the instructor in the car were extremely nice. Also scheduling a test with them is really quick and easy and you don't have to wait a long time to get your test in. Definitely recommend going here for your test. read more

I wish I had checked Yelp before signing my son up. The negative reviews are all true and not from their competitors. In fact, they are consistent with my experience and those of the other parents I met in her parent education class and while waiting for my son to take his road test. We had plenty of time to get to know each other because Gilli, the owner, drastically overbooks the day, collecting her fees and knowing that very few people will walk away from the test after getting there even if they have to wait around in a parking lot for a couple of hours. This is one of the worst customer services experience I have ever had. The owner is incredibly rude. The latest episode is when I asked for a copy of the parent class certificate. I was told that I would have it in two days. All she had to do was scan and email it. When I did not receive it within five days, I emailed again and was told it was "not her priority!" She said that I should have saved it even though I had never received one. There are lots of driving schools in the area. I would avoid this one! It is not worth any cost savings! read more

I would give this business a 0/5 if it was possible. Unfortunately my husband and I did not read the Yelp reviews of this business (nor the BBB reviews) prior to signing our son up. The owner who books all lessons, road tests, and runs the office (therefore is unavoidable) is rude, abusive, explosive, and mean. While trying to confirm information prior to my son's road test she refused to answer questions and referred my husband and I to the parent class that had taken place 5 months earlier. She hung up on me twice and my husband once. Then she insulted us when we tried to confirm information via email: 'YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT YOUR HEARING! TEST HAS BEEN CANCLED' and 'Apprearatly somebody was not paying attention at all!' (I copied and pasted these words/spelling from her emails). She then cancelled my son's road test without giving us a reason. We had to take her to Small Claims Court to get our money back for the test she chose to cancel. Please heed this warning and go elsewhere. read more

Scam!!! I would never send a kid there again, and worst customer service. First, they were late picking up my daughter for almost every lesson, once they were so late she couldn't take her lesson. Then the 1 time my daughter was late they charged her $40. I called to complain and the woman was rude and when I asked to speak to the manager she hung up the phone on me. She did say that the next time they were more than 15 minutes late they would call, the very next lesson they were late and we are still waiting on that call. After her lessons my daughter could not even drive, and I ended up teaching her myself. My daughter said that during her lessons most of the time was spent with her driving instructors to run their personal errands, and classroom instruction the woman spent most of the time talking about personal problems regarding her daughter, and leaving them alone to go smoke and get food. Once I went there early and saw her outside smoking for about 10 minutes as I sat in the parking lot. They never called to tell us when her test was, and after my daughter called several times and could not get through when she did get someone, she was told that they were not at their computer and she had to call back. I finally called myself on Friday afternoon and was told that they left a message and her test was the next morning at 7. Well I check my home phone and my daughter's phone and there was no call or message from them. Also, took my money and scheduled her test appointment before she finished her last lesson, which we were going to schedule as a refresher a couple days before the test. They called 4 days before the test to tell use she could not take the scheduled test because she did not finish all her lessons. I said can he take the lesson in the next day or 2 and still take the test they said "no" she has to complete her last lesson 14 days before the test. So why wasn't this told to use when we paid and scheduled the test? My daughter had to wait another 2 and half weeks to take her test. Also, be aware that they charge you a $35 road test fee that they make you think is going to be paid to the RMV but when you go to the registry for the license, you find out that its not, and you have to pay it again to the RMV in order to get the license. I complained to the RMV about it and the woman explained they are aware that some schools do this, and make clients think it is a road test fee but don't pay the RMV. This should be illegal...it's most definitely a scam, and not worth the money. Send your kid somewhere else. read more

I think that this school must delete its page and replace it every so often because of all the negative press it receives. The owner, Gilli, is extremely rude and unprofessional and will not hesitate to ignore calls or scream at a customer to get her way. The instructors that I have had were mediocre because most of my lessons were spent driving other students back to their houses (so-called free pick up and drop off). Also, the high passing rate of 96% is because they are so bad at returning phone calls, you will be an extremely good driver by the time you finally schedule your road test. If you never speak with the owner and already know how to drive fairly well, this would be a good place to take lessons ($55/hour) or pass the road test ($120 not including $70 DMV fee). read more

I had a largely negative experience with this driving school. The owner is unbelievably rude and difficult to deal with. I am the parent of a student. The owner give us a date for the driving test, then forgot to put my child on the list and gave us a hard time when we tried to reschedule. Although we had paid the extra money to have the test taken at the driving school location we ended up just scheduling through the RMV instead. Several times the owner hung up on us or yelled and was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. I have still not been reimbursed for my driving test fee even though I was told it was mailed one week ago. I have never dealt with a worse business and would never encourage anyone else to use this service, it was a horrible experience for both myself and my child. read more

Zero Stars. Owner's business model is designed to create extra income for her. First appointment was scheduled for a Sunday afternoon and the instructor showed up at 9AM. Since my child was obviously not ready, that was a missed appointment with a $40.00 fee. They would simply fail to show up some times. The owner would claim that the instructor came to your home and that no one was there. Simply untrue as my child was sitting and waiting-no call to her or to my spouse or I. Since that was a missed appointment, that was another fine. You cannot schedule appointments with any fines outstanding. The owner is rude, she swears and then hangs up if you try to challenge her fines. She also swears at the children. When my daughter to ascertain the status of the instructor, the owner swore at her. PS: they don;t teach parallel parking as per the Registry road test (cones) PPS: the instructors were pretty nice. I pity them. read more

I booked my road test with Sharon, We payed all the money, the date was set for 8/27. I get an email a few days before saying I'm moved to 9/3. ok.. that's annoying but I'll deal with it. Then, a few days before that I receive in email and I'm moved to 9/10. Really? Still, I keep calm and brush it off. Then I get an email saying they're moving me to 9/17. Are you kidding me? The whole point of going with Sharon is because they get a test for you in a timely manner. I asked if my money could be refunded- no refunds. Then they tell me that if I find a test in an area where they service they could meet me there with a car and a sponsor. I go on the computer and immediately a test pops up for 9/7 in Brockton, so I take it. I email Sharon and ask them to meet me there. They reply with "Yes we will be there". Last night (the night before the test) I get an email from them saying "do you need us to be there?" another one, "we need to know now!!!!!". I replied and asked them why they are asking me this the night before the test when you already said you would meet me there..? this is the exact response I received " I ASKED YOU SEVERAL TIMES YESTERDAY AND LEFT YOU A MESSAGE. I AM NOT ON STAND BY I HAVE THINGS TO DO. WE ARE NOT A TAXI SERVICE. I CAN NOT MEET YOU AT THIS TIME!" Is this a joke? So incredibly unprofessional. If you can avoid Sharon Driving School, do so at all costs! I heard bad things about SDS but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt for the sake of convenience. I think EVERYONE goes to them for convenience, NOT for the driving instruction. They do not have online booking which means you have to call to make appts for lessons. Rarely is anyone there to answer the phone so they eventually call you back. They accuse you of not showing up for classes that were never scheduled. They called my son on his cell phone asking where he was and he was IN THE CAR with the instructor! My son failed the driving test the first time and there was absolutely NO SUPPORT to help him with the issues he failed. They charge $50 for additional classes. So I took my son out every day before his test and he passed. They should have paid ME to teach my son to drive. I obviously did a better job! read more

I really wanted to give Gilly the benefit of the doubt when my daughter came home complaining of Gilly yelling at her during the driving instruction. My daughter was so terrified of her, but I made her complete the program. When I went back a year later to request documentation for completing the parent's class, she told me it was $20 just to print it out. I was shocked as I had already paid for the class and it was only a piece of paper. I did voice my complaint, but agreed to pay for it. I got out a $20 bill and tossed it on the desk beside her as she was getting the paper ready for the printer. She apparently thought I had thrown it at her as she yelled at me and threw the $20 on the floor at my feet. She then refused to provide me with the letter documenting I had taken the class. She was so rude and very volatile. I went home and apologized to my daughter for not believing her and making her complete the program. Not a good personality for kids that are just learning to drive and are likely nervous to begin with. read more
