I went to a Shear Happening about 20 years ago after a new stylist turned my blonde hair orange. Tina Salamone was recommended by my cousin who had her blonde hair turned scarlet red at a posh Center City Salon. I do not live in Conshohocken or one of the neighboring towns. But I won't allow anyone else to highlight my hair; well, Michelle is the other color specialist and she's great too. Carla always delivers on the cut and blow out. I just left A Shear Happening and had to write a review. Joanne cut my hair and she was FANTASTIC!! I had a meeting run late and she luckily hadn't left for the day so she was able to slip me in. I have Asian Hair. I am extremely selective about who cuts it. I've had bad experiences because of people who did not possess the skill or the patience to deal with it, and for the longest time I settled for stylists who's work was on par with what I was trying to avoid but who's work I wasn't always thrilled with either. A friend referred me to ERIC B at Shear Happening - I was as skeptical as ever going in. Im so glad I went. After I left I remember a sigh of relief as I walked out. I feel like my journey for the right hair stylist has ended. Eric has incredible focus, sensitivity to detail, creativity, and patience. He was able to understand my type of hair/head, and was able to craft a trendy relevant style that compliments my facial features. He also figured out how my hair would grow out and made sure to cut it in such a way that would promote its look in the long term. I came here for a pretty significant haircut, I got about 5 inches cut off. I got there about 15 minutes before my appointment but when I did I stood at the front desk for at least 7 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. When the woman finally saw me she was nice and apologetic, so I didn't really mind. Then I got my hair shampooed by a girl who smelled like cigarettes and wore rubber gloves to touch my hair. When I got to Melissa for my cut she wasn't very friendly. She was chewing gum and texting while cutting my hair. About 5 minutes into the cut the woman from the front desk came over to let Melissa know that her next appointment had arrived. She rushed through my haircut, it took about 15 minutes, including the time it took to dry and I have thick hair. I don't know whether she was double booked or they just don't schedule enough time but that's not my problem. Needless to say, my haircut was horrible and cost me $50, $60 including tip. I'm still not why I tipped her that much. I ended up getting the cut fixed later that week at level seven salon in Phoenixville. Kelly did an awesome job! read more

I have been coming here for almost a year. I was looking for a new salon and I tried this place at the suggestion of a friend. I am pleased. My colorist Michelle is very thorough, always asks how my color held up since last appt, asks if any adjustments are needed. I get a lot of complements on my color. Fay is my stylist and she always does a good job. She's very efficient. She always has good advice on products to use (or not); she always asks questions before starting to cut - what I liked about last cut, what is goal, etc. She does not push overpriced products on you. About 5 years ago I had been in need of a new colorist. I never do this but was passing by some random lady and I LOVED her hair so I ran over because I had to find out the info of where she got it done. I have never heard or been to A*S*H before bumping into that lady but since then I have never gone anywhere else! The rest is history. Tina fixed my old hair and I have been having Tina color my hair since then. And ever since, my hair has been SOOO much healthier too! I have naturally brown hair and get blonde highlights- in the summer more blonde and in the winter usually a little less.. sometimes even some dark red tones here and there. No matter what it always turns out PERFECT. Tina is the best colorist I have EVER been to, great advice and tips, and knows exactly what should be done. She gets your color SO close to the root it looks natural and lasts- never fades! it's SO nice not having to worry or be nervous at a Salon how it will turn out. If you need someone great and professional to color your hair and are not sure- Tina does outstanding work! I also go to Melissa who cuts my hair and always does a great job, angles, side bang and layers; always turns out perfect!
