I asked for them to use the scraper on my feet that many salons used "Marie" the manager or owner put some "skin remover" lotion on my feet and did a quick 1 minute stone massage on my feet then charge me 50 extra dollars for the service. Update: Though I was assured the dip gel was not damaging to the nail -- my nails are now bendy and brittle. They stopped growing nice and long after about 2 months. I believe part of the problem is the rush to remove the previous gel. The first two times, they let the acetone sit there very long on the nail until the gel wiped off easily. Now there is scraping and sanding involved. I still like the atmosphere here (glass of wine still brings me in) but the dipping seems to be similar to regular gel when all is said and done. Also, I had an appointment scheduled once and they still kept me waiting a half hour... Ended up leaving. They DID give me a 20% off card though so that I could return for a discount. All in all I think part of the problem is word has gotten out and they are trying to keep up with all the customers. Rushing the removal process, trying to fit clients in where there is not enough time between appointments. read more

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and we both got spa-pedicures. The women who worked on our feet were great, and the management were very accommodating (we got a same day appointment, and they were super friendly in calling me back to book the time, since I'd called before they opened) They had complimentary champagne, and their bar shelf was stocked with high end scotches, and decent wines. Great experience overall, and not very expensive, relative to other spas. I'm not very experienced, but my gf says this place is nicer than other places, used better equipment, had good hygiene practices, and the costs elsewhere were just as much if not more. I've been going here for the past several months now, and despite a longer drive, it is the best place I've experienced in a large area. VITA is the best dip brand that i've used that won't crack and doesn't leave my nails brittle. I was shocked to hear this place had bad reviews. Went in on a Sunday morning, of course this place was busy but was extremely accommodating. Even some of the nail techs were apologizing for being so busy, multiple times. All the women here were extremely kind. I walked out of there speaking with family stating "wow they were so nice there" would definitely make appointments ahead of time but totally going back. I am really torn how to review Harvest Moon as I really feel the experience was somewhere between 3-4 stars. I stopped in for a pedicure Saturday afternoon without an appointment. The Good: The Salon itself is very inviting looking and they offer a quality mimosa, spa water, and cookies during your treatments. They are well staffed and everyone was friendly. The staff also offered for my husband who tagged along (we had plans afterward) to sit in the pedicure chair to use the back massage and have a drink which I thought was sweet. The pedicure is reasonably priced ($30) and includes a mini hot stone massage. The Bad: When I leave my usual nail joint after a pedicure my feet are baby soft, smooth and all around rejuvenated. This is because my normal nail tech does a fabulous job buffing out all my foot abuse. When I left Harvest Moon my feet felt basically the same as they did when I got there. I am all about nail salon hygiene but I thought it was very odd that the staff here where rubber gloves throughout the whole pedicure process even the hot stone massage. This for me just felt weird. Lastly, as I was in the drying area I realized my pedicure was only one coat thick. I realized this because I heard another woman asking for her nail tech to put on a second coat. In the future if my regular nail place doesn't have any appointments, I might stop here for a polish change or a manicure, but honestly I wasn't super thrilled with the experience. read more

Way too over priced for what you get. Nearly 40 dollars for a pedicure where she barely touches you and doesn't even file your nails completely doesn't seem like a service that merits my money. I love Harvest Moon Nail Bar. I've been getting my nails done for 20 years and this nail saloon (it's more like a spa really) is really the best I've been to. Its clean. New. Very spa-like. Spa music is always playing. It has a nice atmosphere and is really relaxing. Its clean. hundreds of dipping powder and colors to chose from. All products are sanitary. The nail technicians do not rush. They take their time. And they are focused on just the customer. And no one else. I love the little touches they have... like fresh water with fruit, snacks, even a glass of wine (at no charge). The owner Tim is very professional and nice and he runs a really nice professional business. They have their own parking lot in the back of their building which is easy to get in and out of. I went back to Harvest Moon yesterday and told them that my one toe got messed up and that I was not pleased with my gel manicure. The lady that helped me was very ignorant and made me feel like it was my fault. My daughter and I spend a lot of money there and they are very expensive. I will never go back there again! I had an appointment but wasn't seen until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time... and they almost had me wait even longer but I spoke up! The manicure wasn't great. The gel manicure I got only took 15 minutes. My nails were hardly filed and my cuticles were barely touched. I went in for an express pedicure, which I assumed I got, since it was 20 minutes. I was never offered,a drink, water or a snack, I guessed because I was express, I didn't care anyway. When I went to the register the guy charged me for a regular pedicure , I said I asked for an express, and figured that it was only 20 minutes, so it must be. I went home, saw my nails in the sun, dead skin, bare nails at edges and uneven polish, it was horrible. I went back to complain and they repolished my nails, and cut the dead skin off. I really wanted to like this place, because I can walk, but I hated it and will never go back. I guess everyone has their own experience, mine was terrible! read more

The pedicures are amazing and they use a new package of tools for each person, so its very clean! They have a large variety of normal nail polish, gel polish, and dip powders. The best gel manicure in the area. Im at times forced to go elsewhere (closer to work, on a Monday) and I always regret it. The gel lasts for two weeks always, sometimes Im going on 3. I part time bartend and the nails withstand that! The staff is also friendly, salon is clean, other patrons are enjoyable (this is important when youre trying to relax!) and parking is plentiful. This place was really nice! It seemed a little empty but I think they are still in the process of decorating since they are new. A big space which is nice and they offer wine which is a nice touch. My gel manicure was nice, but nothing special and was $32.I say this because the bare minimum was done....cuticles, file, paint, done.
