Out of frustration, I was determined not to cheap out and dug into the options. Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

I previously had another company say that it couldn't be fixed. He said my receiver & some other equipment was outdated. I sort of knew that because I got it at least 25 years ago. He gave me an estimate of ~$1500, which is about what I expected. We made plans to replace some equipment & to program everything the way I was used to it. He had another employee come back, who spent hours installing & programing. The programing didn't work. To be fair, the employee looked exhausted when he came here. I called Jon & he came out & apologized. He hadn't even cashed the final check that I had given him. He said he would only take that after everything was working correctly & gave me the check back. Jon fixed everything!! He even programed by old remote as a backup (same model as the new one). Since he had to buy another blue ray player for $35, I gave him the agreed upon price + $35 for the player, since I felt it was fair & threw away the old check that he had given back. My system was complicated...TV, Blue Ray player, Phonograph, Roku. He got us a new receiver, Roku remote, HDMI cord, & Blue Ray player. Everything works great for the first time in over a decade or two.

Very polite & Knowledgeable over the phone. We scheduled an appointment. His tech team, Mike & Jeff, arrived right on time and helped me get everything situated. They knocked it out the park! It surpassed my expectations. They mounted 3 tv's for me in a couple hours. Definitely worth every penny if you're on the fence about hiring professionals versus doing it yourself. Jimmy was a man of his word... the price he quoted me, was the price I paid. No switch & bait tactics that u hear about in reviews from other vendors. I'll post the 3 tv's they did for me. The living room TV was a 77 inch tv with mount & wiring the cables through the walls so it looks clean. The other TV's were for my garage & home office.
