I will never rent from this company again because they are dishonest to the core. I was in there less than two months, when they inspected my home and then fined me $50 because it was dirty, and I hadn't had time to properly clean it yet. When I first moved in, they told me it was Move-In Ready. It wasn't. In one wall was a 2' x 3' gaping hole in the drywall which they merely covered up with a mirror leaning against it. When I moved out after my one-year lease was up, I spent two full days cleaning the place, and yet they still charged me a $375 cleaning fee. When I complained about it, they said they would send me photos. which they never did. I'm still waiting. DON'T rent from them! read more

Please save yourself the headache and financial burden that is sure to accompany doing business with these criminals. My partner and I have each rented several homes and apartments in the past, and have always left each and every one in equal or better condition that it was given to us. We have always received 90% or more of our security deposits back as well. When we first moved into our new home in Bend that was managed by Superior Property, we were disheartened to see that none of the walls had been patched or painted, and much of the house had not even been cleaned prior to our arrival (we were scrubbing spaghetti sauce off of the kitchen cabinet doors). Over the two years we spent in this home, we worked to fix the unkempt lawns that were given to us, we painted a room that was severely scuffed and marked (with permission), and made a whole host of other repairs to the home that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival. Now that we are moved out, we have received less than a third of the money we paid for a security deposit (about 800 out of 2700). The charges presented to us included $1100 to paint the entire inside of the house in a color that wasn't even there to begin with, even though it clearly hadn't been freshly painted (or even cleaned properly) prior to the start of our lease. When we moved out, the house was cleaner and tidier than when it was first presented to us, and I have the documentation to back that up. I have sent multiple emails to the office AND talked to the homeowner about this, but am now at the point of taking legal action because they have so far refused to acknowledge their wrongdoings. As a lifelong Bend resident I know that housing is getting tougher, but trust me when I say you don't want to be involved with these people. They are taking advantage of tenants and charging for services that are not actually being rendered on the homes they are renting out, hoping that people are too scared or unequipped to push back against them. Believe the one star reviews, because they unfortunately appear to be very true. There may be other cases in which they were non-compliant and if so, there may be cause for investigation or auditing of records. This is due, most likely, to lack of appropriate employee training or insufficient training of employees. If anyone has experienced what may be discriminatory behavior from this company, please message me. I can review your complaint and if it seems noncompliant - and credible - than you may want to pursue formal complaint measures with HUD. You may also be able to pursue legal recourse. Just met with a good friend looking for a property and he mentioned this management company will only show you a property if you put in an application first, they take your application fee, all your personal, private information before you even get a chance to see the property, it's understandable if tenants are still there but empty properties. It's a weird power play that only deters good renters (that value their private financial information) from renting from them. From there website, "We only schedule in-person showings after the online rental applications have been received, applicants are first-in-line for that property and the applications are complete, nothing missing." I understand this is one person's opinion but if you're an owner and want good tenants this is not the way to get them. Applicants with extremely good credit, references and financial information will not just give up that information without knowing what they are getting into. He also mentioned that they are extremely rude and short with applicants, I can only imagine what they are like with tenants. They are missing common sense. good applicants and tenants that are treated with respect will treat your company and properties with respect. It's a two-way street, Superior seems to think that owners (Money In) are way more important than their applicants or tenants. Example, if I'm buying a car, the salesperson doesn't ask me for my social security number and run my credit before I get to test drive it, it is bad business and I hope that if you are an owner and reading this, you go with any other property management company in Bend. We moved from California to Oregon moving into a new home under Suoerior property Managment. we were required to pay $3600 upfront. we did not hesitate. we payed on time , and met all required "entries" with glowing reviews. outside of property was immaculate, and we always were always complemented. when we gave notice 30 days ahead of time, we met all requirements. Being new to the rental market, this gave me a clear picture of what to steer clear of in this industry moving forward. There was a mistake with my application because the criteria given to the third party application determination company did not match up with the criteria A Superior claimed to be holding their applicants to. A Superior refused to look into the matter- all they had to do was make a phone call to the third party or communicate with an associate. I exchanged multiple emails with an associate and was denounced and ignored the entire process. When calling the office, I was constantly interrupted, brushed off, and ultimately hung up on after being told they were 'transferring me to another associates voicemail.' My husband and I rented a home from Superior Property Management for two years moving out last May. When we moved out I mentioned that two blinds in the home were not working correctly. When we moved in the blinds were in this shape but we just let it go. When out deposit was returned to us we were charged 403.00 for repair of blinds. I have written a letter and called twice to talk about this issue but no one will call me to resolve this matter. The blinds were not new and this is not something that we did. The apartment I moved into was not clean and did not have heat at move-in day. The water heater was broken, as was the fireplace and parts of the refrigerator. This review is LONG overdue!! My boyfriend and I moved out over a year ago and at the time of our move-out we had a few issues arise and because of some of the other reviews on here, I was a little worried. All of our questions were answered and Andee worked with us on any item we brought up and everything was resolved to our satisfaction and went very smooth. At exactly the 30 day mark we received almost ALL of our security deposit back (we broke the lease to buy a home). During the time we rented from A Superior we had a few maintenance calls that were handled pretty quickly... One was electrical and we knew that there was a huge backlog and a shortage of electricians available (we are friends with an electrician) So, it took a little longer to get someone out. The other thing I want to mention was the quarterly inspections. Jenny came out and did most of the inspections for us and she was just awesome! I could have sat and chatted with her for hours. I hate when I have to write a 'bad' review, but I've been laminating this for too long! We would have been tenants at a property managed by Superior, but we feel they give no concern to possible tenants when presenting to homeowners... and, sadly, we have PROOF! We'd wanted to rent a very convenient property for about 5mths and offered to pay a premium (higher rent for the opportunity to do so)... we were told the shortest lease term would be 6mths and that this particular property would want a 12mth term. We asked to be presented anyway, that we'd likely be able to do the 6mths months and just eat the last month, and paid our hefty $80 application fee (basically they just collect applications and fees at every open house) 'you cannot rent a home until you've gone to that home's open house.' (that is what we were told multiple times.) A few days later we learned we were not selected, but we'd been next in line. Hmmm... well, OK then :( We tried renting through Superior on other properties, since we already paid that darn fee and were trying to maximize it. We kept being shot down... 6-12mths or more, blah blah... even for properties I had noticed were sitting on their site, unrented, for months!?! It made me feel like they were, in a word, somewhat 'lazy'... as in, it would be easier for them just to poo-poo anyone to the landlord that wasn't going for 12mths, so that they wouldn't have to do any work on the listing for a year. Now... here's our proof... The home, from the above story, that we wanted is in a neighborhood we will eventually be living, when our home is completed... we drive by our own home/lot practically everyday... Lo & Behold... The house we wanted to Rent for about 5mths now has a FOR RENT sign in front of it... after only 3.5mths!?!?!? What gives!?!? I guess our hunch about Superior was correct... they are not all that superior after all. read more

I give this place a 3 because some days you'll get good service and some days you get bad. Sometimes you talk to a nice person on the phone and sometimes you do not. I know everyone hates property management companies but Superior is actually pretty superior to other companies I've dealt with. They provide good homes to choose from. They are upfront about fees and deposits when you go to start renting a place so there isn't any surprise fees or whatever after the fact. The staff is overall pretty Nice. Although, I have called before on some matters and felt like I was being talked to by a robot just reciting what the handbook says to say to customers with questions. But like I said that's not all the time. They will come to your house and do a walk through every 3-4 months. Which is totally fine and chill unless you have something to hide I guess. And Jenny is always super nice and real and upfront and makes me feel better about things that are going on. One warning for people who rent some superior is that if you break anything minor.. like a lightbulb, or a outlet cover or anything super small and easy to fix.. Fix it before they come do the inspection. They will charge you $50+ for an outlet cover. read more

This is a horrible company. They treated my wife and I like children when we took immaculate care of the home we rented. They were slow to non-existent with the repairs, their frequent inspections were intrusive, their attitude was unprofessional and at times confrontational, they are slow to give back the deposit which I still have not received after 31 days and I'm expecting the worst despite us cleaning the home thoroughly. It's been about seven months since I moved out of a property managed by superior. I think one situation defines perfectly what kind of company this is. Towards the end of our stay in this unit we went 10 days without water. They did not communicate with us about an estimated time to have our water back up. Nor did they actually tell us when water was working or that we could use it again. We had to call for them to then inform us "oh yeah it's already fixed". So after all this inconvenience we simply asked for a rent credit for the 10 days. YES 10 DAYS! Without water. They said it will be up to the owner who promptly denied our request, then visited the property without ANY notice. When we called to see why this was denied they said you should have used your renters insurance to get a hotel room. So if there's anything to learn from all this is stay away from a superior property Management company. read more

Please avoid Superior Property Management at all costs for both home owners and renters. I normally do not leave reviews, but I feel compelled to do so here. Lets begin from the beginning. We moved from Sacramento and found a great home on the SW side of town. It had a garage and a level driveway for parking as we had three automobiles. This was very much needed as we took care of our automobiles and specifically looked for a home that had ample parking. I came up about a month before our target move date to meet with Superior Property Management. We discussed our needs and found a home to rent. A month goes by and now its moving day. We opened the front door and saw a large stain on the living room rug, food still in the cupboards and the refrigerator needed to be wiped out again. My mom helped me move as my girlfriend wouldn't be coming up for another two weeks, so she helped me clean what needed to be cleaned upon moving in. I used to own a cleaning business in Sacramento so I really didn't make a big fuss about it as I was used to this and dealing with property management companies on a daily basis. What really angered me was when I parked my car on the driveway the first night and the next day received a notice that we were not allowed to park our cars on the driveway and had to be parked out at the end of the street. Superior Property Management knew this was the #1 thing I requested and them knowing and failing to tell me till after we signed the 1 year lease. I was so irate, I wanted to get my full deposit back and move immediately, but my girlfriend moving up in two weeks told me not too as her new job is about to begin and didn't want to go through the hassle of finding another place. Also, my 8 year old daughter was about to begin school and was already enrolled. This resulted in water spots on all of our vehicles due to the over spray from sprinklers at the end of the street. Not only that, but in the spring the tree's where we had to park grew extremely quickly so we were always scratching the tops of our cars. We would email them to take care of this, but never got a reply, ever. It was partially fixed when we spoke with the president of the HOA directly, but he only trimmed his trees. About six months into our lease Superior Property Management realized there were no Co2 detectors in the home and installed them. Having my 8 year old daughter in a house your renting I would expect it to be safe. You would think an established company would automatically check for these not only for the home owners sake, but the tenets as well. I paid about $3,500 including deposit fee's and cleaning fee's after move out, which we left the property in much better shape then we found it. Please just don't take my word for it, you see, I used to own one of the best cleaning companies in Sacramento and have well over 1,000+ A reviews on Angies List and over 40 5 star reviews on Yelp that anyone can go read to validate I know exactly how a company should be run and operated by an owner who actually cares. If you would like to go verify, the company is Perfectly Clear, Inc and my name is Clayton Barnes. You can also see I don't go rate companies at all, but feel Very compelled to do so here to help prevent the next unlucky soul from dealing with Superior Property Management. We have worked with A Superior Property Management for 10+ years on multiple homes in Bend. Their professionalism has been outstanding and as out of state home owners, we would not have been able to manage our homes without their excellent services. We had originally started with a different company and did not feel their personal interest in our homes or tenants whereas A Superior took the time to know us, what type of tenants we were interested in and always closed the deal. Due to that, we have had very little turn over in 12 years. Their bookkeeping and accounting are impeccable and timely. Sadly, they have received some negative reviews, but please note that they are from either potential tenants or tenants who are disgruntled. With these reviews, please remember that A Superior Property Management works for the homeowners and at times has to make difficult decisions with respects to renters, inspections and return of deposits. Horrible company. One star isn't low enough. They took forever to process our application (9 days), when you call, you always have to leave a message and they take hours to respond, we have perfect credit and recently sold a house, so can easily cover the rent, but despite that, they required an additional $4,700 deposit (on top of our other deposits) because we were a "risk". When I complained they constantly reminded me they were looking out for the homeowners (to which I add "....and we don't give a hoot about the renters.") Plus, I started to wonder, after I move out, would I ever see my over $7,000 in deposits or will they require unneeded "cleaning" and "damage repair"? We turned down the rental. The owners were absolutely LIVID about how we (and they) were treated and fired the company. read more

These people, especially the owner Andee Jessee, are incompetent, rude, and engage in criminal activity. There are so many wrong and horrible things I could say, but I'll try to make it brief. Before moving in, we were told to sign up for utilities, and given a list of utility providers for the address. Two of the four companies were wrong (incompetent employees) and I had to call around to figure out who actually supplied utilities to the address (meanwhile, we weren't allowed to pick up keys until we signed up for all the utilities). Our lease said not to sign up for sewer as it was included in the rent. This wasn't an option as the city made you sign up for water and sewer. When I brought this to their attention, NOTHING was done about it, not even a word was said in an attempt to fix it. Two months later when I got my first sewer bill I was reminded that I wasn't supposed to pay for that according to my lease. We had had enough of these people at this point, so we decided to give our 30 day notice, since they had violated the lease and never tried to fix it. We were then told we would have to pay the $3100 early termination fee, even though THEY violated the terms of the lease. We disagreed, and didn't pay the next month's rent, afraid to give them even more of our money. They served us with a 72 hour notice, and we moved out 10 days earlier than originally planned. So..... now they have charged us for the extra 10 days that we were not living there, because they forced us out early, and they kept the entire security deposit, AND they are threatening to send us to collections for not giving them money for the early termination fee!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! They will steal from you and treat you rudely, and try to ruin your credit! read more

If you want friendly professional service, I would go somewhere else. I found the office and maintenance people extremely rude and borderline mean most of the time. It was extremely stressful dealing with them and we were only in our rental for a short time. We took excellent care of the home and did get our deposit back so I'm not a disgruntled renter, I just think some of the staff need communication classes or maybe a vacation. I definitely wouldn't trust them with my home if I had to rent it. To the angry staffers: Please try to be kind and respectful to your tenants. Maybe you are stressed out but so is everyone else.
