I live on the water in Scituate and, as such, have a constant queue of maintenance to take care of.... every year. I can't count the number of times that I have reached out to the neighborhood and friends for another recommendation for a contractor, painter, handyman, etc. In and around our community, at least, many of these people are busy, temporary, unreliable, or do not do quality work. I found Dave via a trusted recommendation. I needed to fix a wall "now," or else a replacement window would not be able to go in. This was a several-day job ... not trivial handyman work. Dave and his team scoped out the job and make it happen within on week of initial contact. It was fast and efficient and he was never late. Everything happened exactly when he said it would. He would text me ahead of time with questions or indications of time of arrival. So refreshing! The work was done, perfectly. Dave and his team even made it a point of being present when the Anderson window installers were there, just in case they had any questions or issues with his work.... so there would be no issues. The window went in. There were none. Well, I was so impressed with the first job that we started discussing the rest of my maintenance needs for the spring. Once again, Dave surprised me. He (a) considered what my stated needs were, he (b) offered other suggestions for related needed near and long term work (some of what I knew and some other legitimate ones I was unaware of), and he worked to (c) provide multiple price and scope and bundling options for what work would be done and how it could be done ... so that my available budget for maintenance could be most effectively used. Dave is proactive but not pushy, he is very easy to work with, and the work looks great. I actually feel a little less stressed knowing that I can call on him as needed and that things will promptly get taken care of and done right. And for the items he doesn't do himself, I have already experienced his ability to pull in other excellent, qualified people as needed, and make sure the job is done right, on time, and on projected budget.

He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

Scituate Caseworks is a disaster. They were contracted through Traemand to install my Ikea…read morecabinets. The contract called for the installation to take place between May 29 and June 1. When Linda Bate from Scituate finally called to give me the date for the installation that date was June 2, one day past the contracted date. My kitchen is small and she as much as told me that I was being tucked in between bigger jobs. This was for a kitchen on the lower Cape and we live in Somerville so it meant going to the Cape on June 1 in order to be there at the promised time, 7:00 am on June 2. On June 1, when we were already on the Cape, in a home with boxes all over the place and no kitchen, we received a call from Traemand in Colorado inquiring whether we were satisfied with the installation. I told them that it had not even been done yet but that it was scheduled for the next day. The Traemand person promised to call me back. When I had not heard from them by 4:00 pm I called them and they said they had not been able to reach Linda. Shortly after someone from Traemand called me to let me know that I would hear from Linda by 6:30 that evening. She did call me to let me know that they were not coming the next day. Nor were they coming on Saturday, nor even on Monday. In fact she would not give me a new date for the installation. My partner and I, who are very busy realtors in the midst of our peak season, took two days off in order to be there in time for the installers. We had to take all our meals in restaurants. I did not learn until the evening before they were scheduled that they were not coming and I wonder if she even would have bothered to call me if I had not called Traemand.. It cost me money in terms of lost earnings and the cost of coming down to the Cape--we were there ONLY to have the cabinets installed--and considerable stress and aggravation. The reason for the delay, she explained, is that other clients' jobs had taken longer because although they said they did their inventory it turned out that they had not. Well, I did do my inventory--I spent hours doing it--and don't see why I should have been penalized for the incompetence of others. When I told Linda that she responded that she could not pull her workers off a job to come to mine because those people have contracts. Well, I had a contract too and it says that the work will begin on May 29 and be completed by June 1. Neither happened. I should point out that Traemand is not entirely in the clear on this. My contract was with them, not with Scituate, and they obviously do not stay on top of their projects. Just the other day I received a request for an evaluation of the work that had been done--so the person who sent it did not even know that the work had never been done. When it was clear that we would never have a kitchen if we waited for Traemand and Scituate to honor the contract I called my trusty Somerville carpenter who actually gave up his weekend to go to the Cape and install my kitchen. I have not yet received his bill but I'm sure it will be much higher than the price contracted with Traemand. They have told me to let them know once I have the final bill and we'll see if they make good on their commitment to compensate me for additional costs.

He sent an email 20 minutes before the appointment seeking reconfirmation. I was unable to respond due to lack of internet so he never showed. We made a new appointment which he did make and he was very apologetic for the first mishap. No worries. At least he made it the second time, and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He didn't email me the estimate when he said he would and my follow-up emails received no response. I did eventually get the estimate with an explanation he was away at a graduation. Okay, except after all that time the estimate failed to include two important items I spoke with him about on-site. I sent him an email about this, plus a few other queries and also provided my phone #. No response. I sent the email again several days later. No response whatsoever after almost 2 weeks. Why invest the time to go to the site and then fail to provide the info discussed? Why totally ignore emails containing perfectly valid questions? He should have made it clear up front I wasn't allowed to ask any questions.
