Same experience as other home warranty customers. American Home Sheild is going to mess around and get a class action lawsuit behind A to Z. It was a little harder than usual to nail down an appointment, but we finally got Sean(?) to come by. He said he had 11 years experience and yet couldn't tell us why we weren't getting power from our light fixtures. He ended up telling us that more work would be needed, but American Home Shield would have to approve the order. Four days later, AHS called me to say A to Z told them that our second story electrical wire wasn't working due to tension and foundation issues. Oh, really? I asked for a second opinion and Hopwood electric was sent out. They found and fixed loose wire within minutes. A to Z is more like O-to-the-hell-no! read more

Dishonest company that is scamming people out of their money. This company was the contractor through American Home Shield. They came to fix a flickering LED light. the technician was here for less than 10 min and said he would have to come back with a new light. I told him I had replacement LED lights and showed it to him but he left. a week later a box came from Amazon with some LED lights. I did not order them but I assume AtoZ did. i did a follow up/recall appointment request since I haven't heard from AtoZ. Theh scheduled a follow up appointment for the following week. Guess what? AtoZ electric sent a text saying a tech was on their way and about an hour later, I get a notification that my service was completed and rate their service. Funny thing is that no one ever showed up. I work from home so I assure you that no one ever showed up. just marked it as completed, won't answer back any text messages or calls from me or the home warranty company. AtoZ got paid, and my light never got replaced, but I'm out $87 service fee because AtoZ marked my appointment as "complete." completely dishonest company. read more

Awful. American home shield assigned them. Waited for over six hours and the guy didn't even want to do testing to diagnose the problem. Told American home shield that it was an access issue and a wall had to be broken. I refused to let them come to my house again. Called electric man. There was a loose wire behind a light switch. I had a very similar experience with this company as the other reviewers. American Home Shield had me pay $75 for A to Z to come out and fix some of the electrical issues I am having. A couple of them are very simple issues, such as replacing a GFI outlet that wouldn't take them more than 10 minutes and replacing the vent in a bathroom. I even offered to go get the parts so they could get it done. They wanted to charge me $100 just for the GFI, did not even quote me on the vent. My main issue was that my doorbell is not working. The technician basically said there is nothing they could do and for me to just buy another doorbell, even though the one I have costs $250. I was not told that these simple things wouldn't be covered under my warranty. They left without having done anything. I could have had another company come for free to quote me on the things I need. read more

I am a first time, first year homeowner and overly cautious about having to do major projects on the house. Primarily, I needed the main disconnect, sub-panel, groundings, etc... all updated and up to code. I saw and received about 5 to 6 different technicians and quotes, but I chose A to Z Electric out of all of them. I was impressed with his knowledge, adaptiveness based on my changing requests, and patience in answering my questions... some of which may have been repetitive. Whether it's a passion for his profession or an outstanding work ethic or both, Alex has a genuine personality that was expressed in every conversation. He made this whole process from start to finish a success. He was on-time and performed the service in one day, alone - plus handled the inspection process with the city. I just read the other reviews. Basically saying same thing. The women who is "customer service" is Very rude. She Will hang up on you if you don't do exactly what fits their schedule. She must be wife or family. I can't see any other way a owner would allow this to continue. When you see one bad review about a person it's probably an anomaly. When you see many....wait for it.....ITS A PROBLEM!!! Too many other options. Go elsewhere if you have a choice. Go without a fix if you don't. read more

Same experience as the first reviewer. My home warranty contracted a-z. Impossible to get in contact with this company. If you do hear back, it's 3 days later. They came out 2 weeks ago to give us a quote and didn't even quote us on all the issues requested. Tried to schedule a follow up so they can actually take care of my issues and no answer. It also seems that they have turned off their answering machine. The secretary seems nice enough when I'm able to reach her but it's seldom that I can. As I am still trying to settle this claim with them, I hope they can turn it around and possibly I'll change my review. -----that was my original post and I rated AZ a one at that time. Now as they finally got back with my rental manager, things were settled but still not timely. I don't think a 1 is fair but deserving of a 3. Thank you read more

Stay away from this company all they know how to charge people they did not even have a ladder to fix my Fan technician did not even attempt to fix the issue. He put the fan speed controller backwards he was late by over 35 minutes to the appointment he charged me 75 dollars and told me to deal with American Home Shield warranty company on my own. I would give the rating of -1 but yelp does not have this option. Be very careful if they can not fix the fan what else can they fix as an electricical company also did not know how to put the speed controller correctly had installed backwards. read more

We waited all day for the technician to show up on a Saturday, but he never did. The dispatch page showed further information needed with a link to call, but nobody ever answered. On Monday, an incredibly rude lady said the tech called us and left a message, but this was not true and she insisted it was a no show. I'd say it was horrible service, but we never got any. The experience was absolutely poor! The willingness to be accountable and make it right was severely lacking. They care more about not admitting fault than focusing on the customer. Maybe they should not try to schedule work on a holiday weekend? read more

A to Z Electric were selected for me By American Home Shield not by me. I was really disappointed because they came out to look at my issue and it was unresolved? The technician told me there was an issue between my Circuit breaker box and my swimming pool and the electrical piece needed to be corrected at the circuit breaker box. The technician was going to right it up and see if they could move forward with American Home Shield to fix the issue? Since the technician left I can't get A to Z Electric to call me back and explain why? They keep texting me that they deferred to a pool company to fix the electric problem, and if I need anything else I should contact American Home Shield? The service I received from A to Z Electric was really disappointing and I felt my issue was just to big for them or they just decided they didn't want to fix it (for whatever reason), but I feel as a customer I wasn't important enough to explain anything or the reasons why they won't fix my problem... I was sent to A to Z Electrical by my home warranty company. They sent an email to schedule, and I called them back. I was allowed to schedule a Saturday morning appointment. The next morning after scheduling, I was called by Shawdae Linget informing me that they were available to come Friday around noon. I explained that I work a day job and could not do that time, but that I would like to keep the Saturday morning appointment. She then explained that they made a mistake and could not support the Saturday commitment. I mentioned to her that she should have started the conversation saying that they could not come on Saturday and needed to reschedule. That would have been open and honest. I would have understood that sometimes appointments need to change. That's unfortunate, but my appointment was not for a major outage, so timing was not urgent for me. I simply wanted to give her feedback about how to handle customers in a better way. She could have said, "thank you for the feedback" and moved on to re-scheduling. Rather, she decided to tell me that I had no business telling her how to communicate. I reminded her that I am the customer, and I am obligated to give her feedback about how she was talking to me. I asked for her manager, she gave me the name Mike Linget, but refused to give me his number and to pass on my contact info to have him contact me. I asked her if she was okay with me posting on social media how she spoke to me, she told me that I could find another contractor and hung up. These people may do great work, I was not able to get that far. I am obligated to give my feedback here so all can be aware that they may experience this type of treatment.
