He said he could fit me in just two days later. I said to just let me know what time would work best. Day of i still hadn't heard, so reached out to confirm. He said he would be by after lunch, and quickly did some work to get the outlet at least safe/functional, but wasn't able to get the outlet flush with the island as initially discussed and agreed in the quote. He said he would either need to order a different wall plate for that, or change the specialty usb outlet to a basic outlet. I said as long as we could get the outlet cover flush with the island I would be fine. He said he would order the part, and he'd follow up when it came in so he could quickly swap it out to finish the job. A week passed, no word from David. I reached out to check in and was told he ordered the part, but it arrived in the wrong finish (gloss black instead of matte), so he needed to reorder it. TWO MORE weeks passed with zero contact, so I followed up again. 7 hours later still no reply. Thinking I'd been ghosted, I reached out to his wife who initially referred him. Only then did David respond, claiming he'd been dealing with an eye infection. I know things come up, but I had zero update at any point to explain the situation without me needing to track him down myself. I expressed sympathy for his situation, then relayed my concern with the lack of communication and continued delays for what we were initially told was a quick fix. That's when he told me he was still searching for the matte black plate. So I did a google search, and found one in under a minute for about $2. I told him I went ahead and ordered the faceplate on Amazon myself. The next day he said his brother would stop by monday (4 full weeks after his initial visit). I let him know the part I ordered off Amazon wouldn't be in until that Wednesday, but if he finally had the right part then it would be fine, just requesting if he could confirm what time. He said they did have the part they needed, but never confirmed a time. On Monday, I still hadn't heard anything regarding a timeframe someone would be coming, so around 2 PM I followed up -- we have a toddler whose naps we plan around, I had other errands to run, and my husband works from home. But by 5 PM we still had no update. Since it was the end of the business day and I needed to get our evening of dinner/bath time/bedtime underway, I sent a simple "?" A minute later, two men knocked on my front door. We have a sign on our door specifically asking not to knock because it sets off our dogs, wakes the baby, and disrupts my husband's at-home work. The knocking caused the dogs to bark, which scared our son and he started wailing, which disrupted a conference call, all while I was trying to get dinner started. I had no names or contact number for these people, no ETA after specifically asking for one. I texted David explaining a heads-up would've helped, and his response was "??????" followed by "This was not part of my service call... I was just helping you out. Call someone else in the future." I sent him a screenshot of the very first message I had sent him, which outlined exactly the work we were requesting since the very beginning, to show that this had in fact all been discussed (I keep my receipts), and never got a response (shocker). To top it off, the wall plate they ended up bringing was gloss black... which is hysterical considering his whole excuse for the delays was specifically needing to reorder the right color plate. They also didn't turn off the power to the outlet before working on it so it sparked and shocked one of them, and I myself had to suggest they cut the breaker before continuing to work on it (!!). All in all, the job a full month to complete something that was initially quoted as taking less than an hour, and were left with a different solution than what we initially were told was going to be able to be replaced. I was incredibly patient and understanding about repeated delays, flexible regarding inability to replace the same kind of outlet for whatever reason despite initial reassurance it would be a quick and easy fix to do just that, super kind throughout bending over backwards simply trying to get basic updates through the whole ordeal... but was met with sheer lack of professionalism, piss poor communication, unorganized, and flat out rude demeanor, with zero accountability. Astonishingly low of standards for "professionalism" and business practices, all for what ends up a subpar job in the end. Would definitely not recommend this contractor.

Words cannot accurately describe how unbelievably awful it is to work with David. I hired David to…read morewire a hot tub at a property I own. We scheduled it for 7 am 2 days after our agreement. David confirms the appointment. At around 1 am the morning of our appointment, I get a text from David demanding I pay him 50% of the project immediately or he won't show up. Normally I would tell him to kick rocks, but we had a very serious deadline and could not get anybody else at that point. I paid it, and asked for David to provide his license and insurance info that he had promised, which he didn't. David then showed up late, never even communicated with us the status at all. At around 6 pm I texted him for an update and he simply said, "I'm done working for the day", with no notice of when he would continue or when the job would be done. I followed up asking for his insurance info that he had never provided and he then went on a rant about how he was the best electrician in Dallas and that I didn't need to worry. I then decided to stop by the property to see things, and found that David had used MY work equipment without asking and had cut numerous holes in walls throughout the house with no notice and left random mess all over the place. Sheetrock and huge chunks of insulation were scattered all over the floor. No attempt to even clean it up. My dogs tried to eat the insulation. It was a disaster and huge safety hazard. I sent David photos of the holes in the wall and asked him to confirm that he would be repairing these before completion. David then said, "I don't do sheetrock." I then stated he should have absolutely told me he would be cutting holes he has no intention of ever fixing before doing so, as I now have a nonrefundable photoshoot for the house scheduled tomorrow, and giant holes in the wall. David apologizes and says he can help me find a handyman to fix them. So I spend all night scrambling to find a handyman without even knowing when I can get them to the house because David won't commit to when he will finish. We now get to this morning, where I get numerous messages and phone calls from various phone numbers claiming to be David, demanding I speak to him. I tell him I don't need to speak to him, and that he needs to finish the job, quickly. He demands again that he will not work unless he speaks to me. I call him. He then demands I need to tell him I'm okay with him cutting more holes and that I will ignore the undisclosed giant holes he cut. I tell him I'm not okay with ANY of what has gone on here, but that I really don't have a choice at this point. He then says I do. And I say, "so you can complete the project without the holes?" He says no. I say, then I have no choice, and I inform him I have my backup handyman waiting and to finish by 3 pm. I then ask him when he is going to finish, and he tells me that his quote says it's a 36 hour project. I ask when he will be done. He refuses to answer, and just repeatedly demands that I need to guarantee that I will pay him his full price when he finishes and waive the damages he caused. I tell him I already agreed to pay him during the initial invoice, have already paid him 50% due to his refusal to begin without it despite these issues, and that the constant reassurances while he repeatedly leaves at random times, refuses to give a clear completion date, and damages my property, are ridiculously hypocritical and that I will not be threatened into doing anything extra for him ever again as I had already prepaid him for his work that he didn't do. He then says I must text him reaffirming that I will pay him the full price while expressly mentioning that I will overlook the damage to the home. I tell him no, and then he quits and demands I let him back into the home unsupervised to gather his stuff. I tell him I will not be doing that, and that I will wait on police to be there for him to do anything at the property since he has quit. He then refuses to coordinate with me to get his stuff, and just keeps repeating that he is coordinating with police to do a civil standby. I sit here waiting for hours, and then he randomly texts me threatening messages telling me he will call the city inspectors and have me shut down because he knows them personally. So he then extorts me. Even now, as I update this, he continues to threaten me for the 8th time just today. His communication is BEYOND BELIEF AWFUL. He is lazy, makes random unreasonable demands and refuses to continue work unless met, has no problem using your tools and equipment without even asking, and does terrible work to boot, while texting you nonstop about how he is the best electrician you will ever have. If you enjoy self harm then he's the electrician for you. Otherwise use absolutely anybody else. Even your grandma. ANYBODY BUT DAVID. Oh and he refused to refund the 50%

My 5 year old daughter just started kindergarten at a new school. She noticed all week that all of the kids walk to and from school with their moms. This is something my child has never experienced because I work In surgery and she is usually dropped off by a nanny or picked up late from aftercare. Today was my first day off in 14 days. I was so excited to walk to her to school to meet her. There was not a cloud in the sky. 1 mile of a peaceful walk. I arrived at the school to a large black cloud in the sky. ( apparently it was moving fast). I prayed it would blow over. As soon as my daughter walked out of the school the rain started to pour. Luckily I brought a stroller because I wasn't sure if she could handle a 1 mile walk home after school. I asked my daughter if she wanted to uber home or continue our walk. She insisted we walk in the rain because it might be a year before we have this opportunity again. We laughed and giggled through the flooded streets and sidewalks of Highland Park. We were approached by the Freddie America work vehicle. He ran to us with a rain coat that I immediately used to cover my daughter. I waved and thanked him. He immediately ran to the car and came back with a second rain coat. I felt so blessed. It was raining so hard that I could barely make out the company name on the side of the vehicle, but knew that I had to get this information so I could share my story and how thankful I am. This man truly made our day. From the outside in we might have looked like any other mom and child walking home and struggling in the rain, but to us it was a special moment that we will cherish forever.... Our first time to ever get to walk home from school. Thank you Freddie America for the rain coats which allowed me to make my daughters dream come true.
