We had a storm pull our electrical out of the roof; Zubras restored temporary power, dealt with the nightmare permitting at the city (because we had to upgrade to current code at this point), and then upgraded our system to exceed city code. We have been using Zubras Electric for both Commercial and Residential work for over 25 years. Everyone we deal with is a consummate professional and over the years they have become part of our family. Our dogs learned that one of the Electricians, "L" was a sucker who could be conned in to opening the treat jar for instance. "L" was also able to diagnose wiring errors in a house we purchased that we believed was possessed. They communicate, show up on time and clean up after themselves. If you need a 100yr old house's electric updated. These guys can do it with minimal mess and drywall repair. From the consult/bid process mr. zubras instills confidence that he knows what he is doing. Most of my outlets were not functioning, my meter had a bird nest attached to it... the line from my back house to the main house was the wrong type of cable not meant for outdoor use. yikes. who knows how much jack rigging had gone on in prior years. I was living in fear the wall wiring would ignite. Zubra's team swooped in. What was estimated as a week of work turned into 3 days. The team was friendly and not terribly intrusive . its always hard to have a team working on your house and in your space. Not having much idea how a house electrical system works... and its all in the walls.. it still feels like mystery magic. but , hey, all the outlets work and things seem fine. I have a lovely outdoor meter and fuse box now. Plus a sturdy exterior cable that should withstand the elements until /if I can ever afford to have that cable buried for aesthetic reasons. My stress level is diminished. and I guess the house value is increased? ... google says electrical updates are a once in a generation investment. fingers crossed but I feel very confident all will remain right. They get 1 star for one reason: They showed up on time. Otherwise I'd lobby Yelp for a 0 star rating. Ceiling fan wasn't working. Turns out after they ran all new wire from the switch up into the attic and rewired everything the fan still didn't work. Turns out, bad fan! The wires from the fan got all twisted up from an improper installation from the previous owners of the home. $400 and they nickel and dimed me all the way. Including charges for the Romex they didn't need to run and all the time they spent working on the wrong issue. I went to Lowes bought another fan and installed it myself and its working great to this day with no issues. read more

We needed a new box and wiring. After a branch knocked out our power. We called a previous Electrician with lots of commercials on TV gave us a $4,000 quote. We really needed just to get the power back on. Zubras was a lot more informative on what we needed. Didn't try to sell us a new home and did what we needed for $1,200 big difference. I was shocked to see negative reviews that brought their yelp score down; after using them on three separate projects with stellar results. When I read the review I realized that the person is located in Saint Louis & was trying to review a completely different company. My experience has been outstanding; their estimates are for the entire project so there is no room for surprises whether it takes an hour or 30 hours you know what to expect before they start. The work is professional, they're available 24/7 & the scheduling/communication is excellent. Finding contractors like this isn't easy so I have no intention of ever having to search for another electrician . read more

Surprised at the couple of bad reviews I've seen on here, because my experience was great! They came out quickly and solved a difficult electrical issue for me without charging me an arm and leg to do so. Very impressed with Zubras. Nick did a fabulous job on all the repairs we had for him today. He is very professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. He kept us well-informed at every turn about fees, as well as, the status of each repair job. The results were perfect! We have used Zubrus for over 20 years and will certainly call on Zubrus again in the future. However...and this is a big one...David, who accompanied Nick on this call, came in with his mask down under his nose. I asked him to pull it up and wear it properly, which he did for a bit, but then down it went again. After my wife told him again to cover his nose, and explained why it was essential, AND called the office to complain, he seemed to follow through for the rest of the visit. Christie in the office was very responsive when we called and voiced our concern about covid-19 precautions, both when we made the appointment and when we called during the service call. Just know that as the customer, you will need to take responsibility for assuring that employees actually carry out Zubrus company policies. read more

Their prices are currently ridiculous. They used to charge by the hour and had reasonable rates. Now they charge by the job, they came out spent a little over an hour installing replacing a light fixture and left us with a bill for close to $300. Won't be using again. read more

Called Zubras on Tuesday, 05.12.15 and Ben, the Service Manager, arrived at my house the next day at 9:00 a.m. exactly the time promised. He surveyed the job and provided me with a fast, fair, on-the-spot estimate. I called the scheduling coordinator, Cheryl, I believe is her name, a few minutes after receiving the estimate and she scheduled a crew for the next morning between 9:00 and 9:30. The next morning right at 8:00, I received a call from Dan, the crew leader advising that he could be at my house between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. I told them to, "Come on!". Dan and his coworker, Wade arrived at 8:40, surveyed the job and got to work. Short version, Dan and Wade were completely professional, took care to protect my floors, walls, and cabinets, and when they came across the unexpected (which is quite common in my 75 year old house) consulted with me along the way. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. They were on time, just as promised, they were professional, honest, and delivered exactly as promised. I'm very surprised to see the two old (2011, 2013) reviews but my experience with Zubras was absolutely outstanding. They are now my go-to pros for all things electrical. read more
