The job took ~2.5 days in the end it looked so great! He was able to work seamlessly around our windows, hanging shelf brackets, etc. He was also kind enough to come back and quick adjust the last row after we discovered it was slightly slanted. It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

As homeowners we expect honesty and transparency when accidents occur, especially during our home project. After discovering this issue, we attempted to communicate with the company to address the situation. Unfortunately, dealing with the management--specifically the vice president--only made matters worse. Communication was awful, we were given conflicting information, and she continued to lie and simply ignore the situation. Home improvement projects require trust, professionalism and accountability. Sadly, our experience lacked all of these things. I'd previously had another contractor come in and do a very messy epoxy pour over my counters (loaded with drips, runs, uneven surfaces, uncured epoxy, chips, epoxy on the walls/appliances/floor, etc). It was a disaster, to say the least. John and Andrea were the ONLY PEOPLE WILLING to tackle the mess I was left with without breaking the bank, and not only did he spend a great deal of time and energy resurfacing my counters but he even cleaned up as much of the epoxy mess as was feasible and added caulking to finish things off. John was always INCREDIBLY KIND AND WORKED VERY HARD TO TURN MY KITCHEN PROJECT AROUND. He went very far out of his way to right the wrongs of the contractor who came before him. She redesigned the entire bathroom and it actually works out better for us. We needed a handicapped accessible bathroom and she was very conscious of making sure we were comfortable with every decision and action from beginning to end. Then we met with Eric, Brittany and Staci to go over everything from beginning to end. They all walked us through everything and how we could track daily updates. Through the process, they communicated constantly to make sure things were going good. Martin was also incredible every time he was here.
