They advertise 24-hour service, but the woman on the phone refused to get out of bed to come take our $460 and release our car to us.

After visiting my Father in Utah, I saw that his place could use a few things. First off, he was…read moreusing the same plates that I ate out of as a teenager and the furniture in his game room was outdated. So as a surprise, my brother and I wanted to get him some newer furniture, a new set of dishes, and some giant candle holders to display around his pool. I shopped for everything in Chicago, got it organized and then I wanted a mover to ship it all together instead of each company shipping it separately. Plus, the leather couch that my brother & I got for him was from a furniture company that didn't offer out of state shipping. So I had no choice with that one. When I called Chicago cross country, I spoke with Joseph who was very down to earth. Over the phone I listed the furniture and everything else I was shipping. I told him that I wanted to time it out as a surprise if possible and he said he could definitely do that. I then called two other companies to compare on when they could start, estimation on when things would be delivered, and of course the price. Cross country outmatched the others, so I booked them. Two days later I met the movers, Patrick was one name I remember and the other guy, I don't recall his name. But it was two movers and they both were very nice & worked fast! I wasn't sure how to pack the pool-side lanterns I bought, so I had the movers pack them, along with everything else. They did it without a problem and asked me if they should take their shoes off when they got to my place. It's the little things, like asking that I care about it Everything arrived in Ogden, Utah yesterday and I was called me when the truck was an hour away from delivery. This part was important to me because I wanted to call my Dad before everything arrived so he wouldn't be alarmed with a big delivery haha. It ended up being a great surprise thanks to this company!!

Bikes, TVs, computers were all fine and well insulated. Be aware that it might actually take the full 21 days to get to you. Day 5, our stuff made it to CA from Chicago, but took an additional 15 days to make it up to Seattle from CA so your mileage may vary. We had planned on 14-15 days (two weeks) and so ended up having to buy a bunch of new stuff to be comfortable while waiting the additional two weeks. The problem lies with whomever they contracted out to do the final leg of the delivery. We had 30-40 boxes and they all appeared to at least have been tracked in some way into some sort of storage. However the team that delivered did not actually track each box when they pulled it out of storage. Additionally they filled in "delivered" sections on their own without me fully seeing and filling out that portion myself. I will probably not end up suing this service again in the future as waiting 2 weeks and then having random boxes go missing for the price paid is pretty unacceptable. Insurance covers some of it but it's still annoying playing the "what random stuff will I have to replace" game =(

I'm too old to be enticing friends to carry my crap up and down stairs with beer and pizza, it was time to grow up. And Long Distance Movers is the company for that grown up move. First they have representatives that will not only quote your move but also check in and stay as your point of contact throughout the entire process. My rep was excellent in following up and responding to all of my questions and requests. He went out of his way to make my requested dates and times work, and that in itself already makes the costs come close to being worth it. But the movers themselves make it a no-brainer. They were courteous, polite, and professional. They also took a lot of time and care into helping prepare my items to go into storage and take the trip across a couple states. I thought I did well packing but they really improved on my work, rearranging and wrapping items that seemed loose or wobbly. I felt everything was super safe and taken care of when they were done. Good people throughout the company and good practices made my move super easy and convenient and the personal interactions make it completely worth the cost. Highly recommended for moving longer distances.

Based on the reviews, we choose Long distance Movers. My parents lived on the 3rd floor of our family building and held years worth of items including a book and album collection as well as some antique furniture items. I worked with the sales team all the way up until the day of the move and made adjustments based on time and necessity. The move time was pushed back several times, which I remained flexible on. The driver (Mike) called me to let me know they were running late, I said no problem. I could tell in that conversation, (Mike) did not sound pleasant at all. When Mike and Alex arrived, it was confirmed, he was not interested in the job at all. The other mover (Alex) was friendlier. I began to show them the items that needed to be packed and I showed them around the property. Mike said we had more than what was listed on the quote. I advised the quote had be revised several times and we decided to not take some of the larger pieces. There was (1) item located on the first floor (that I sent pictures of) and some items in the basement. After showing both movers what needed to be done, I asked if they would rather park their truck in the alley. They agreed and said they would pull around back. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!!! I called Mike several times and did not get an answer...then the calls went to voicemail. I then attempted to call my sales person Matthew and realized the phone number listed does not allow you to enter an extension number. I then tried the representative who called me to confirm the move. I had to leave VM with both and wait for a call back. They were very surprised and apologetic but could not tell me why the drivers left with no notice. I was eventually told they could not "Accommodate" our needs! I completely understand how overwhelming that task may have appeared to someone walking into a large apartment, that wasn't the most organized or tidy, but isn't that what that $4,000+ quote was paying for. What if we had to be out of the property within days? To leave the job and make me wait for 30 minutes in the alley is completely unprofessional. Moving in general is extremely stressful, now imagine being a couple of senior citizens, one of which is a disable veteran battling cancer and being told their movers left without notice!

Days after a very tiring cross-state move, the driver simply texted that delivery would occur the following morning at 8am. With less than 24-hours notice from the driver, I ended up arriving alone to a remote storage unit, where I repeatedly felt rushed and very uncomfortable with the delivery. The four-person crew quickly packed and stacked items in the darkened storage unit, despite my repeated requests to fully inspect things in daylight. Some furniture appears to have been placed without protection from scratches, dents and moisture, even directly on the concrete slab. The crew moved so quickly with so many items that I was basically reduced to just checking off their item numbers. My complaints were met with mocking and aggressive behaviors, including a threat to leave. Once, the driver forced the crew to take a break, but then the process started all over again. I now wish I'd recorded everything from the moment Atlas Van Lines, Imlach Movers, and Ace Relocation Services arrived, to have a video record of the movers' words and tone, their gestures, and the overall rushed and unfriendly experience. I expected my move would be done with delivery, but troubles and frustration continue more than two months later. The claims process been very tiring and frustrating. I have communicated with multiple representatives and their supervisors at the companies, yet my time spent on calls and emails to Atlas and Ace hasn't helped. Ace and Atlas advised filing a claim for damages but then also said they'll only accept a single, once-and-for-all claim. How could I possibly know the extent of all damages before being able to inspect everything? I still haven't seen all my possessions. When I have offered to meet at the storage unit and finally inspect everything, they have simply refused and offered no productive steps forward for inspection. It has been extremely frustrating trying to work with them. Instead of being able to get on with life, I'm having to spend time communicating with attorneys and hoping I'll eventually get fair treatment from Atlas and Ace. This isn't what I needed from my move. I seriously regret my choice of Atlas Van Lines and Ace Relocation Services and will never make that choice again.

Bottom Line: If you're looking for a comany who will care for your vehicle and who cares enough about their customers to call you back about a claim, look elsewhere. Do not hire Nexus.
