Our room (110) was a dungeon. Dark, tucked into the corner of the hotel w/1 window that we had to keep the curtains closed due to the location of it. We did not see any partial view of the ocean; we saw the cars in the parking lot. We did not get a balcony; we had chairs in front of the room where it's a common walkway. All the other rooms had balconies. We complained when we checked in & when we checked out. They said they couldn't do anything. Therefore, I told them I would be doing Google & Yelp reviews.

The room was very clean but had a strong smell of bleach. It got better with the stay. I found the bed to be very comfortable. The staff were very nice and friendly. Continental breakfast was bagels, donuts, cereal, bananas and coffee. A few restaurants were nearby and Washington Mall was a ten minute walk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the third floor suite…read more- a spacious grouping of rooms with a spectacular ocean view, which Cape May is famous for. The owners were pleasant, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I especially loved its little kitchen and living room, not to mention its proximity to both the ocean and the Washington Street Mall. If that doesn't convince you...just know that the beds are very comfortable! :) P.S. Since I stayed there in 2005, new owners have taken over, and they are not friendly at all. My dad emailed them for rates since we enjoyed it so much the first time, and he responded in a rude tone, almost as if he didn't want company. It's unfortunate, as I loved it so much back in 2005. Wonderful Holiday Weekend…read more Just stayed at the Puffin Suites and we had great time. The Holly Suite was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The Suite has a fully stocked kitchenette which we took advantage of every morning. Our children loved the horse carriage rides. The Puffin is so close to the beach and shopping. Pairing it with one of their cheese platters is always a great choice. Even the French baguette with olive oil is delicious. I try to visit whenever I can because it feels like such a calming escape. One thing to keep in mind is that they host a lot of weddings and private events, so it is smart to check their Instagram before you go to confirm their hours. The staff here are also very friendly. On one visit, they were already closing up, but they still let me place a takeout order, which I really appreciated. Between the beautiful setting, the quality of the drinks, and the welcoming service, this winery is a place I always look forward to returning to.

Street parking is pretty simple to come by, mostly daytime is a little harder find. The lighthouse , Sunset Beach and Washington Street Mall are a short drive. The Green Room I stayed in had a mini efficiency kitchen with microwave, sink, stovetop & mini fridge. There is a shared porch (front and back). Very, very small bathroom with standing shower. Bring your own essentials. With all that said, its not modern by design. Much of the room has been fixed or had some type of strange home improvement. For example, there is a door cut out in the wall to create a door & get out the porch. It looks like a secret door passageway in a murder mystery movie. The bed folds up in the wall but one corner touches the floor. Its ok to sleep on but nothing luxurious. The knob in the shower was hard to figure out because it was for a totally different shower design. There all kinds of odd little home pieces of quick fixes that is pretty funny, actually. The breakfast was basic and premade, reheated and ready in the morning. We had quiche one day. The rest of days we went out. I did like my stay for the location, the price and room size.

Plus an awesome outdoor shopping area with some great restaurants (such as The Blue Pig). I reccomend 931 Beach House to anyone looking for a historic building that's been well preserved with adding light modern touch. A beach town with cute shops and restaurants make this a great destination for couples and families alike, and being on the smaller side keeps the inn well maintained and makes you feel special when you stay. The…read morebeautiful blue house is opposite the ocean and renting there I had the added convenience of easy parking - and access to beach chairs right under the house. The bedroom balcony was huge and beautiful, affording me a panoramic view of the ocean 24/7. At night I kept the balcony door open and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean roaring across the way. Everything I needed was inside the room - kitchenette, large shower, smart tv, lamps, extra lighting, and lots of towels. The innkeeper Liza is such a beautiful person and extended herself to me beyond what I expected. I wasn't sure how to get there and she offered to pick me up from the station - so sweet. I love her! I ended up driving in but it's the thought that counts. It's not every day that people offer things they don't have to do. The beach is clean and felt really private in October. I'm sure the summer is more packed, but it can't be that bad because Cape May itself is just beautiful. There are restaurants, clothes, souvenirs and so much more to do on that strip. I can't wait to go back there.
