My 6 year old battery died when my car was parked in my garage. The battery was the original issue, in the car when I bought it new. AAA sent AV Towing to test the old and install a new battery. The truck arrived within 25 minutes of my call, which was 20 minutes earlier than promised. Carlos, the Service Rep., introduced himself & shook my hand when he arrived. He connected a device (he purchased personally from Amazon) that ensures all of my electronic settings were not lost when he disconnected my battery. I felt like the adults were talking and the little kid was fussing and not letting the adults talk. The rates are insane! Was closed due to a holiday and the storage rates are designed to make you lose your car. It's so sad. The answering service was rude and unhelpful. My car was scraped by these guys on 20 April and left a huge, thick gash across my left side bumper. They promised to find out who did it yet they never once attempted to reach out to me. These guys often risk their lives to help others out of some really bad situations . They have to put up with a variety of frustrated personalities. They are sent from one call to another, sometimes after having to assist with accidents that result in fatalities, which is often times, emotionally draining, especially if it involved children, so before you get upset with them for being behind schedule, please consider this. Also, drivers are dispatched calls and sent out accordingly. They do an amazing job considering all the protocols, rules And situations they face minute to minute. I went to go pick up my car from av towing Andy he guy I spoke to was extremely rude.. they said that my car key did not come with the car.. he searched my car and still didn't find anything.. I know for a fact my car was impounded with my car key because the police took my car key and lanyard.. how is is that it went missing off my keychain?! The guy played stupid and i asked for the drivers name and he refused to tell me who it was.. I then had to wait for my spare key to come so I can get my car out of impound! He said he would speak to the driver and let me know.. I still have not heard from him and its been over a month.. I don't care how busy you are if u lose someone car key you own up to it.. I would have given them 1 star if AAA was not involved. Called AAA two days early to arrange a 55 mile (one way) tow. At the time AAA told me they do not do early appointments and just to call back a few hours before I need the tow. "We are 24/7" I was told. Two days later at 5:am I called AAA to make arrangements, I hang up and 15 min. later A.V. Towing calls to tell me that they will not arrive until 9:am because they don't tow outside of the A.V. before 9:am. I asked (its now 5:15 AM) so if I was out road side and I need a tow to the dealership that is 55 miles away. I would have to wait +3 hours for a road side tow? I told them to cancel the call. Note - Called 3 other companies that were not AAA affiliated, they could pick up ASAP but it would be $8 to $10 per mile. I found a different local tow company (saw a picture on YELP of a company that had a AAA sticker on one of there trucks) that was AAA affiliated and picked up the car in less than 30 min. Called AAA due to a flat tire in high winds in Mojave. Car was loaded with bikes and luggage we would have had to u load the car to access all of the tire changing materials for my Jeep. They broke the oil pan on my 2004 Jetta that was being tow from Tehachepi it took them over 3 hrs to deliver it, their excuse was that the tow truck had a blown tire and they had to wait for a second tow truck they never said anything about damage to my car they just drop it off and driver took off right away!! Stay far far away. We called AAA for a tow 2 weeks ago for a Hummer that wouldn't start because of alarm/battery issues. Tow truck showed up fairly quickly for the time of day but that was where anything positive about this experience ends. Robin, the driver gets out and takes my card. He has a bad attitude from the start. As we are waiting outside my house (not once did the driver approach us and ask for keys, ask if the truck was in neutral, or ask us to put it in neutral), we hear 3 or 4 loud thumps as this guy is literally dragging the H2 (rear wheels locked up) onto the flatbed in park. When confronted, he just waived it off, dropped it down and drug it up again, this time there was more loud thumps. It was at that time we looked inside and saw it was still in park. The truck was on the bed when we realized he never asked for the keys, so we just wanted to get it to the destination. I was already on the phone filing complaints against the company and driver, and had called the company to complain and was told by Craig, the apparent manager, that he "would be handled". The situation only got worse. Once we arrived at the destination, Robin the driver thought it wise to laugh at the situation. The truck would not go into gear, with the keys in the ignition this time, so he slammed the shifter with his body weight, possibly causing further damage. He continued to laugh which only aggravated the situation and made tensions higher. He would not admit any wrongdoing, and wanted us to sign waivers and overage on tow charges, for $14. With pending damage, we refused to sign their waiver, and my husband was trying to obtain the drivers tech ID for my records to follow up with my complaint and claim with AAA. He refused to give it saying he didn't have one, doesn't know what that is, blah blah. It wasn't until I came out, dropping a supervisor names at AAA that he magically called his supervisor at the company and was able to produce a tech ID. Shady, horrible customer service, inexperienced drivers. I mean, come on! First thing every driver does is ask for the keys and put a car in neutral unless it's wrecked or repo'd. AAA should reconsider giving them calls, I will specify (if I ever need a tow truck again) that I do not want this company. My family has had a membership for over 70 years and I have never EVER filed a complaint, until now. The funny thing is, all we wanted was an apology. I want to start out saying I grew up in the towing business and my family owns one of the biggest companies in jersey. I know towing. I called AAA because I got a flat on the 14. I was in a bad spot so I requested to be towed to a tire center instead of digging the spare out and then having to deal with all of that. First they sent Filipe in the pickup and it was in a bad spot like I told AAA so he requested a flat bed. They got there in a reasonable time and took me to a tire place. Robin was so sweet because the guy there didn't have my tire so he took me to a second place for a tire and didn't take my car off the bed until he knew we could get a tire! This is unheard of!!!!! I had two flat tires on a Sunday. I used my roadside service with triple-A. Most tire stores are closed on Sunday so I was going to have my car towed to my house. The drive was really helpful and confirmed that it is being towed to my house. Asked if I wanted it towed to a tire store instead and then told me about a tire store in town that is actually open on Sundays. The shop that he towed me to was really helpful and was a great shop. Ok first of all the five stars is not for the excellent customer service ,First of all I am not the person who thinks fighting gets you anywhere and I know that these folks understand that they are dealing with people that are facing some kind of crisis , I had just paid $1000 for getting my car car out of the shop when we allowed someone to use our vehicle which sadly they choose to have a few drinks and get a DUI so we being my 80 yo Mother and I had to go get her Vehicle and the would not allow me to come by myself as I pleaded my Mother is 80 yo and has Health Issues and is ordered to stay in because the Corona Virus , But she had to go with me , So we had to go to the bank and get the $455 CASH as that is all they take we arrive and get the pleasure of meeting Frank, Now Frank is not a empathetic man ,He is down right upset at the world ,He left my Mother and I out my the gate for the longest of time in the hot sun and my Mother was shaking ready to pass out from all the stress and than to have the heat on top of all this , I was in severe pain as I have holes in my legs I am a 57 yo gay disabled man, And I was honestly feeling discriminated against as did my 80 to Mother , When frank asked for the cash he said thats $495 dollars I said no it is $455 I have it written down right here he told me he did not care who ever told me that price was wrong ,Now obviously I was told the amount as I repeated everything to assure every ting would go smoothly ,Well I am sorry i lost it at this point as franks abuse was a little to much on everything we have already suffered through I gave Frank $500 and waited for him to get the car and the five dollars change ,But as we stood there in the hot sun I looked at the bill and added it up it was $455 dollars and the sad thing was it was brought there late Wed night and we got it first thing Friday morning ,Well frank came back and gave my Mother $45 dollars and said there was a mistake and he was going to honor the wrong price ....How nice that was well Frank went to get the car and brought it to us and Frank had to make a nasty comment, By the way this car is here because the driver of the car is a drunk and got a dui ...........excuse me what did he just say I asked my Mother ? Is run like a racket, $230 to tow a midsize suv less than 4 miles, and will charge you $53 dollars a day storage for 4 days, even though they had no one available to confirm their possession of your vehicle, never-mind accept payment and release it to you. Unwilling to discuss the practice, "no managers available" and will have you standing outside a gate alongside a street while they run back and forth with your paperwork. Has av tow come out to my complex to tow cars that had expired tags due to management cleaning the parking lot which is great I go out side av tow had my car hooked up and ready to tow my tags were up to par I hadn't gotten no notice from my management called my maintenance man to see if my car was on the list he told me it wasn't and the guy said he had been told by the security to tow my car and if I wanted him to leave it I had to pay him $140 I told him there's no reason for you to tow my car I never got a notice my tags are up to par and he said well like I said you need to pay me $140 I need them proceeded to say I need to feed my family he told me he would wait 5 minutes for the for the security to come he didn't wait 5 minutes it was supposedly on the phone with security he proceeded to release my car and left soon as he left security came and said that my car was not on the list to be towed and that prior he had told a car exactly like mine this guy was very rude and tried to scam me for $140 knowing my car was never on the list to be towed I then called the office to talk to a supervisor and the supervisor was very rude hung up on me I would never do business with AV towing ever ever I can imagine how many more people this man has scammed your supervisor is very unprofessional and rude and I would look into seeing how many times this man has scammed other people read more

I was heading South on 10th St West when an AV Towing truck shot out of a side street directly into my path. Thinking the person driving the tow truck didn't see me I honked. The man started yelling and waving his arms around at me. Then at the corner of 10th St West and K I knew he's stop next to me to harass me, he did. I had my phone ready. When he saw that I was going to take a picture he tried to drive away quickly. He wasn't quick enough and I got a picture. Picture will not upload but here are the numbers from the truck: in front of drivers door is a number 26, behind drivers door are the numbers 70 and then CA 142136. It is disgusting for someone his age to harass a 62 year old woman with a grand baby in a car seat. What he should have done is apologize. BTW, yes, I did flip him off, no one bullies me.
