The water low and slow. Barely moved. Called it and charged for the blast. Guide kept taking lines that got us stuck on rocks. Guide who probably has done it 1000 times took us thru a chute backwards with a huge rock that sticks out and likely steered me (the lucky chosen one) into from behind. Hard. Glad it wasn't my son. Guides seemed to think it was funny. Consequently, I do not recommend. read more

Did a rafting trip yesterday with my husband and siblings. The weather was horrible- cold and rainy/ but we did it anyhow. I believe our guide's name is Rob- he was great. The water was pretty low due to how late in the season we were but we plan on doing this next June when the water is much higher. Merrily, merrily, down... OMG a class 4 rapid!! This was a great place for whitewater rafting, our first time, but hopefully not our last. Our guide, Lucas, was super knowledgeable and put us in a good path down the Poudre River. The only thing we were disappointed in is that we didn't do a full day. We did the Blast trip. It's recommended that you hit the river in the early summer months May-June, but the river was 3' over in early July. read more

Despite a difficult river day and very difficult conditions (3500 CFS on the peak day) these guys were absolutely amazing. Our guide Pete was well experienced and we felt that we'd end up safe at the take out even in such high water. What a fantastic company! I was so nervous about my first trip rafting, but our guide Joey really made the trip spectacular. From the greeting we received from the staff, to the help with wetsuits and life jackets, to the informational videos that teach what to do when things go awry on the waters. The length of the trip was about 2.5 hours because we bypassed a section that was a little too dangerous for Level 4 rapids, but everything else was a blast! Although we were riding some intense rapids, Joey made us feel safe and encouraged teamwork so that we didn't flip our raft! I certainly recommend this company to anyone who is in the area and looking to White Water Raft!!!! read more

A Wanderlust Adventure does a fantastic job. We went as a family, with four adults and four children aged 14, 11, 9 and 8. Only three of the adults had ever been whitewater rafting before none of the kids). We did the Taste trip on the Poudre river. It was perfect. Enough great rapids and bumps that it was enjoyable but not too intense for the kids. Our guide, Brian, was incredible -- knowledgeable, funny, very patient and great with the kids, and very safety conscious. Everyone had an absolutely great time and can't wait to go again. Here's what to expect. We were a group of 20. The Man in charge grouping us seemed frustrated and started the experience confused and hoping numbers would work out. After boarding the buss we were told we couldn't do the path we payed for because it was too dangerous due to high waters ( which was fine safety first) but the path we went on was very short ! Maybe only 3 miles long and once you circle that path we had to get off the rafts CARYY OUR RAFTS AND PADDLES and help load them. It was exhausting!!! The male guides loaded only their own and never came back down to help any other raft... the men women and kids had to carry very heavy rafts to the bus... then !! Circle back to do the same exact stream path to unload and carry all over again !!! This was my second experience rafting and compared to rafting in Utah this was not a good experience or one I recommend. Also we purchased all photos BUT TO PURCHASE WE HAD TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT OURSELVES !! Who the guides were how many rafts etc. so we did all that so we were able to purchase and the PHOTOS WERE BAD QUALITY!!! Very dark !! You couldn't even see the people in the raft and it was a bright sunny day !! I've had a great experience all around and this one didn't even compare to it. Fun because I was with my family but worth the money or recommend this location, no !! read more

I wanted to send a huge thank you to Wanderlust Adventures for stepping in in my time of need. I was recently trying to float the Poudre River and while loading my boat to the river blew my knee out. I was really freaked out and in desperate need of help. Dakota from A Wanderlust Adventures was in the area and came running. He got me stabilized on the ground and then found 6 other guy who were willing to carry me from the river to my truck. This may not seem like much, but I would not have been able to get there, otherwise. Unfortunately, Dakota was the only person's name I got that day, but if I were looking for a company to do a rafting trip through, I would choose A Wanderlust Adventure. read more

Visit - July 17, 2011 Told to arrive at 2:15pm - no need to arrive earlier than that per the person on the phone. We did but then had to wait to check in, which wasn't a big deal. Printed and pre-filled out the form from the website. Return time - 5:30pm. Water temp - 38 degrees Husband said the water is a shock but within 5 minutes of paddling you get used to it and don't notice it. Paddling - You don't stroke, rather you use your entire body to paddle. Stick your arms out in front of you and then pull your entire body backwards in a single motion - ab work. Gift for the husband's birthday. Scheduled the first timer's trip, " A Taste," but since the water is higher than normal and the group my husband was with happened to have been on that one before, the guide upgraded them. Basically they got the step up but for the same price and the same amount of time as the original trip. I believe the step up is a two hour trip as opposed to a one hour jaunt. I believe she was being nice so don't expect it. But points to her. Be careful when you go to pull around to the back of the building or you might run into someone who is using a gas pump. The place isn't fancy, but it is rafting so who cares. There is a unisex bathroom in their area but there are split bathrooms in Vern's upstairs. There are no lockers so you have to lock your things in your car. Apparently the bus driver holds onto your keys for you once you get to your starting point. Bus ride into the mountains was 45 minutes. There are six people per boat, including the guide I believe. My husband loved it. He was placed as the "captain". He says you go for a while, stop and get out of the boat and people can switch positions, and then you start off again. CD with videos and photos was $38 - $44. Really good shots, but we passed. Vern's cinnamon buns upstairs are gooood and HUGE. read more

Fantastic day white water rafting on the Poudre River! What a thrilling adventure, and the scenery was so beautiful. We had an awesome guide named Derek. He was born to be a river guide. He had such a great personality and was able to instruct us very easily. Derek's job was to steer us, and I was amazed how he could read the water flow and get us exactly where we needed to be. The water was chilly -- 35 degrees -- so I was glad to suit up with a wet suit and booties. They provided fleece pullovers and splash jackets too, so we never got cold. Such an amazing time -- I want to do it again before we leave! read more

Fantastic! We rafted the the Blast which was ranked at a 3-4 difficulty. Our guide, Joey, had a great personality and made us feel completely safe and confident. All of the guides were quick to respond when someone fell out of their raft, and they were able to get us all back on track and enjoying the rest of our time. All of the staff members were extremely friendly and kindly answered our many, many questions. There were customers of all experience levels. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back again! The staff was friendly and the guides were great! They made it very fun for our group of 15. Even though we were split between rafts, as we expected with our big group, they made a way for us to still have fun together! Lots of splashing lol! What an amazing adventure! We did the afternoon blast trip on June 20th. The water was really flowing but our guide, Derek, did an amazing job at getting us through the rapids. There was one section of the trip that we were not able to do and we had to be shuttled around this area but the entire trip was great! If you are in the area and looking to do some rafting, I would recommend this place. Check-in was pretty smooth. They have all the equipment needed for a pleasant day on the water. The water temperature was 36 degrees so we did opt to get wetsuits. The air temperature was great so we did not get the splash jackets. They also provide booties, helmets and life jackets. They provided a lot of information prior to departing about what to expect on the water and what to do in specific situations. I was glad they spent the time going through all of this as it did come in handy during our trip. The bus ride to the put in point was uneventful. Once in the water, our guide spoke to us again about safety on the water and the commands he would be using as well as worked with us to get in some practice strokes. The trip was exciting and lived up to it's name "Blast"! In one sections of Rapids, three people fell out of our raft. Our guide kept us on track and we had everyone back in the raft without issue. Our guide was great and we wouldn't hesitate to choose him again. read more

We had about 20 people in our group in town for our wedding. Everyone LOVED the rafting! The guides were all friendly and engaging. We booked the Blast but ended up being downgraded to the Taste because the water levels were too dangerous (and given a refund for the difference). Even with the downgrade, it was an adventure and we will be back next time to try the next level up! read more
