Contracted through American Home Shield. Sump pump not working. The claim was denied because the sump lever was trapped against the side of the sump causing it to burn out. I explained that the pump was moved by myself trying to determine why the pump wasn't working. Claim was denied. I authorized repair to be done which was $450.00, unless paying by cash $400.00. The new sump was installed with a modification to the sump discharge pipe which included a flex. The tech failed to tighten the clamps on the flex. The next heavy rain, which was only a few days later, the flex came loose and water flooded the basement. I tightened the clamps and "Abra Cadabra" the flex held. read more

Technician shows up with no identification (no badge, parks unidentified van on an adjacent street) leaving the customer no way to know who's at your door and expects to be let in your home. When questioned, gets an attitude and walks away to the unidentifiable white van parked on an adjacent street and just leaves. I had a very disappointing experience with Water Solution, Inc. If you have a home warranty, be prepared for a frustrating process because it feels like they go out of their way to avoid getting anything covered. In particular, one technician I dealt with consistently seemed to look for reasons to deny coverage instead of trying to help resolve the issue. It gave the impression that the goal was not to fix the problem, but to find technicalities to avoid responsibility. Communication was also a problem. The person handling the phone calls and scheduling did not make things any easier, and overall it felt like there was no real effort to help or follow through on resolving the issue. The experience came across as very uncoordinated and unhelpful. On top of that, the technicians sent out were not very professional and came off as rude during visits, which made an already frustrating situation even worse. Overall, I would not recommend this company. Based on my experience, the service, communication, and willingness to resolve issues were all very poor. AHS gave this company my service request for a leaking hot water tank. Upon getting to my house, my wife requested that the technician wears a foot cover before coming into the house. The Technician refused, and entered the house anyways and said, "your house is filthy." My wife refused to let him, Matt by name, continue with the work. He drove off and went to cancel the service request with AHS with the comment "they no longer need the service." This is a very bad customer service, and if they treat every customer like this, I wonder how they are still in business. read more

Jesse of A Water Solution provided not only great service, but provided a great solution as to the failure of one of my two sump pumps that were in the same circuit. Instead of having to pay an electrician each sump pump on a separate circuit, he recommended and installed a single sump pump with greater horsepower, but it came with a battery pack that will insure sump pump will still work during a power outage during a heavy rain storm. Erika in their office contacted me immediately after receiving a service order from insurer. She kept me full inform as to Jesse's arrival time. I would recommend A Water Solution. read more

This company was sent to my home via my home warranty company. I immediately knew I wasn't allowing them to replace my water heater. The tech that came in didn't really look at the water heater and said it needed to be replaced. The water heater was leaking from the control valve, but there's no way he could've been for certain the entire water heater needed replaced from 10 feet across the room. After he told me it needed replaced, he walked over to and tore the insulation off to check the model and date of production. He then proceeds to critique the design of my basement and the person that finished and told me I'd have to drain it and carry it out myself after removal because of the drain being sectioned off due to the build. Two hours later, I got a quote from the warranty company stating that my out of pocket would be $775 due to modifications the company would need to make during the installation. This quote included a charge of $75 for draining the old tank!!! I called AHS and told them I would take the cash settlement, and I'm currently in the process of having someone else do the work. When I told the person that's doing the install about the drain issue, he said it wasn't a problem because he has a pump and a line that could be run to the drain. (Jesse is Rude, Short with customer service, False reporting to AHS) We had entire toilet mechanisms replaced. (Basically, everything in the bowl). Everything appeared to be fine until in the silence of the night when things are silent, every 30min to 1hr the toilet would run filling the bowl up (only 2 to 4 second run) with water that had drained back into the flush hole. After My Wife told Jesse the Technician that we only notice the issue at night when everything was silent, Jesse said, only way for him to understand issue is to spend the night. Very Disrespectful and threatening response from a professional. When I called to report it there was NO accountability and wanted to charge me to even look at the issue. I Believe the Only reason this company is in business is due to American Home Shield. The Customer Service was not worth it with a warranty company and definitely would not recommend them AT ALL. read more

A Water Solutions was sent to my home by American Home Shield to look at my toilets. The guy showed up more then 30 minutes late and took a few seconds to look at my toilets to only say "this isn't covered" under your warranty despite saying admitting the condition of my toilet is normal wear and tear. The issue is that it's flushing power was weak and he said "the Jett" wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Who the heck routinely cleans "the Jett?" He didn't take a deep look, he didn't attempt to work with us; all he tried to do was get out of doing any sort of work on my toilets. Horrible service and very disappointing. read more

I submitted our need for plumbing repair to our home warranty company in late afternoon and was texted by Erika with AWS the next morning to set up an appointment for the following morning. Tim was the technician and was very friendly and helpful. He explained the packing nut on our sink's water shutoff was probably not checked properly when it was installed and over time the water pressure fluctuations can cause a water drip/leak at the fitting. He tightened the fitting and the one next to it. Wish I had known to check that, but I was happy to have an honest and quick resolution. read more

Had an issue with my garbage disposal and a bathroom faucet blockage. AHS assigned them to me. Guy came and walked around for 5 min verified that the disposal was leaking from the bottom and then verified the blockage in the faucet due to buildup. During their response to ahs they mentioned the faucet had a leak and I had caused it. And they mentioned there were foreign objects in the disposal that caused the leak and both are not covered. They were contacted through AHS  A WATER SOLUTION, INC. ******I had to pay $125 for the service call for them PLUS I had to pay out the $169.04 for #*#"#" # to actually do the work, which should've been free if he had done it correctly under the home warranty policy. Instead of trying to price gouge & have me pay out of pocket $5000 plus additional home repair after destroying my property.***** I had multiple problems with the technician that was dispatched. 1. He was here for no more than ten minutes & proclaimed that my job was preexisting the date of my policy April & likely would be out of pocket. 2. He said the cost would be between $4,000-$5,000 out of pocket, without the flooring, concrete or drywall repairs. I told him that it only began leaking about a week ago & had a photo with the time stamp.   3. He said he'd have to rip out my drywall, all the new flooring & concrete. I said if that was the case that my homeowners would likely cover at least a part of this, he said no. I disagreed again on the date & what needed to be repaired. He was extremely short with me and rude the entire time, speaking to me like I knew nothing. He told me he wasn't going to debate or argue with me & just left. I then immediately contacted #*#"#" # for their free estimate. I figured they could tell me if they agreed with his assessment or if it was something else. They were here in less than twenty minutes. They addressed the problem immediately and it was as thought, it was the clean out cap that had corroded & needed replaced. They did the work for a total cost of $169.04.  They also said that it wasn't leaking on the flooring until recently & it was only dripping on the surface, not from underneath, no buckling involved or other water damage as he was trying to state. He was aware that I'm in poor health on medications, oxygen ECT. He was using scare tactics and trying to take advantage of me. Update: After trying to charge my insurance company and I a total of nearly one thousand dollars to come back and fix my shower, I reported Matt (the plumber) to the insurance company where he is under review to be removed as an approved contractor. This is one of the worst plumbing companies in Columbus Ohio. My sump pump was leaking due to heavy rain in central Ohio. Luckily my Tenant managed to contain the flooding of the basement by securing and tightening the sump pump. They dried the basement by mopping the water up and this company was called to repair the pump the next day. They sent a technician to my property. Once the technician arrived, he apparently looked at the sump pump and said that there was no leak at the time and left. Five days later we had another heavy rainfall and the basement flooded again. I asked for a second opinion, and they came out and fixed the drain in the shower, which was loose and was leaking. I was assigned to A Water Solution through my home warranty company (American Home Shield). Although the tech who came to my home and diagnosed the problem was very polite and gave me information about my plumbing problem, the company has been a nightmare to work with. It took them nearly a week after the service call to submit the claim to the home warranty, despite daily calls to them asking them to submit. Once the claim was approved (with some additional costs that were not covered by the home warranty company that I would be responsible for), it took another 3 days for them to respond to my daily calls asking for an update. Then they claimed that the home warranty did not cover the claim at all, which was a lie. I reached back out to AHS and they said that the company declined the job due to the non-covered costs. When I asked for more information about the job and the coverage they did not respond. This company is not professional and does not complete any part of the process in a timely manner. read more

I had my water heater replaced a few years ago by the company, yesterday I had my a/c and furnace replaced(not by this company). I have a gas furnace, and gas water heater, the a/c repair guys showed me how this company did not put my exhaust for the water heater in to code, and they said they could pretty much put their finger through the joint they used. This could've gotten my entire family sick if my a/c hadn't failed this year. I would never recommend using this company, when I had the work done(through a homeowners warranty), I asked them for a reciept because there were about $300 that I had to pay out of pocket, and I was wondering what those charges were, never heard from them again, and they were very shady on the phone when I was asking about it. This was the absolute most horrible experience with a plumber. Total rip off. My home warranty company sent them out to check a leaking toilet. The tech Jesse arrived 45 mins after scheduled time, then sat in my drive way for another 30mins. He walked in my bathroom and did not touch the toilet, open lid or cover, or try to even flush toilet. He literally just stood in bathroom and said that the floor was causing the toilet to leak. I explained to him I have owned the house for over 5years and the toilet worked fine for several years. He again refused to even look at toilet and said it was the floor and the home warranty company would not cover repairs. I called the home warranty company and they said that it is completely untrue. Their policy is if I did not do any changes to home and it worked prior to service call, they cover repairs. They stated this company would have to resend a different tech at no charge this time to actually examine toilet and diagnose issue. They contacted the company directly and advised them of this. Per contract the company has 48 hrs to contact the customer and schedule appointment. This company never contacted me AND ignored my phone calls during business hours. They did not return several messages. My home warranty company took them off the list of approved vendors and sent a different company out free of charge who fixed the issue with no problems. Avoid this company at all costs. If your home warranty company assigns then to your home, refuse them and request a new company. The tech is KNOWN for advising home owners that the service needed is not covered when it absolutely is. They are literally just a scam trying to collect the $100 service fee without putting in any actual work. Read the other reviews. The owner should be ashamed of himself. read more

When I asked to speak with a manager she responded and said "I run everything". She immediately advised me that the item I reported was not covered under warranty. Wish it could be less than 1 star. The plumber showed up on time. When we went to look at the problem he told me I need to get the cap off the clean out. If something came out of the pipe he doesn't do clean up. He then told me that he doesn't go into the crawlspace because his machine won't fit. Told me if I got the cap off that he would come back and snake the pipe. he told me that he really didn't want to get that early because I was the first stop of the day and he didn't want to be dirty for the next seven stops he had. The other reviews are spot on. Do not use this company, and if you get assigned them as your contractor through American Home Shield you need to call and get reassigned to someone else ASAP. The owner, Matt, is notorious for finding reasons to not do the job while still getting the flat rate from AHS to be there for 5 minutes. He lied both to me and to AHS in his evaluation. He told me a bathtub couldn't be snaked without a cleanout, which is a joke - you just go through the overflow. Then he told me just use Drano, which is insane to hear from a so-called plumber. But despite telling me that, he turned around and said the slow drain of my SECOND STORY bathtub was from the mainline stoppage in my BASEMENT. If that were the case I'd have had sewage coming out of everything on my first floor, which wasn't the case. Then onto the main reason he came - my mainline stoppage. My cleanout is a few feet in the air, and he said it impossible to safely do, needed to be hydrojetted, etc. He then told AHS the cleanout wasn't even accessible and I needed to have one installed. Which, of course, AHS doesn't cover. Needless to say he was lying, so I had AHS send a different company out for the second opinion, and they did everything perfectly fine without issue. Do not trust Matt or any of his employees in your house. They will lie, screw you over, then they'll refuse to answer or return calls. They deserve their terrible reviews. read more

Not only did he not fix anything, he just went on and on how about nothing will be covered under my warranty and that he intends to let them know it won't be covered. I have AHS and a leaking garbage disposal. A water solution came out, did not even turn on the disposal or run water in the sink. Took my word for it. I told him that it was humming so I used the wrench to turn the blades and it worked but was leaking. He said he would order a new disposal and left. A week later, I heard nothing and called AHS. They told me to call contractor to see when the parts would be in. I called and left message. No return call. Then receive email from AHS to call them. Called them for a second time, and they advised me that the disposal was not covered due to a foreign object. Unbelievable. This is a repeat diagnosis for this company in the other reviews.
