I had an issue with a garbage disposal that was installed to replace a leaky one. After the person left, I discovered that it was still leaking at the joint between the gd and the drain. Original person was not responsive. A friend recommended G&M. He discovered that he installed the gasket away from the drain instead of at the joint, and that's why it was leaking. He also discovered a small leak at the drain on the other side of the sink and fixed that. Finally, he installed new kitchen fixtures that I supplied. They responded promptly and had an available appointment much sooner than I expected. The plumber was professional and friendly. They did the job right for a reasonable price. Currently waiting for someone to come with a part we need to replace a valve outside. It's been almost an hour of just waiting. The person dropping us the part told the plumber (no issues with him or his work) it'll be 10 min to deliver the part, we agree to wait and do the job with them. We had water hammer, I thought, or at least loudly banging pipes. Started happening after we had a new high-efficiency washer installed, so I blamed that. But it turned out to be more of an underlying issue that the new washer (and the way they installed it) brought to the surface. These folks were super helpful on the phone, and easy to schedule when I wanted them to come. Not a rush, so it took about a week. They probably could have come sooner but we were busy and it wasn't an emergency. Plumber showed up on time, laidback, friendly, knowledgeable, patient with our dogs and cats. He ended up securing a bunch of our pipes. 60 year old house, so many had come loose or had one screw, and the washer installers had messed with things a bit at that end. No noise now. Price was reasonable. Glad it turned out to be a relatively easy fix. Definitely keeping them in mind for next time. read more

Responsive within 3 days but really no researching the cause of the problem. The rep had his kit to replace both the heating element and the thermostat before he even looked at the water tank. Ohh he also had a $250 invoice ready. Did fix the problem at least. read more

Suddenly water had backed up into my bathtub and I called G&M because I thought the roots had grown back. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and instead part of my pipes had collapsed due to age. With the house being 60 years old, it was to be suspected. G&M was able to handle the situation. They transitioned from working inside my house to doing the outside work. They took care of getting the inspection from the city (don't want to hit the gas line!) to fixing the pipe to making sure everything was clean and back in order. These are my go-to plumbers in Columbus. They do great work, but I have to start here: Oh my goodness, the receptionist is so kind and caring. Clearly people are having a bad day most of the time when they are calling a plumber. She's empathetic and let's me believe my (relatively small) problem is a travesty. I also have no idea how she balances everything. I was scheduled for my broken dishwasher about 48 hours from my call but I let her know I worked form home and she said she's put me on a cancellation list. By noon the next day I had a plumber in my house. The plumber was early (!) he called and let me know he was 45 minutes out and then showed up in under 30. When I commented he mentioned he decided to skip lunch. If my kitchen wasn't a wreck I would have made him one. He fixed the problem expertly and asked him to look at a kitchen sink bad install I had (last time I'm ever not using these plumbers for anything, but it was a contracted job). He was able to fix it too. It had been driving me nuts for over a year. This isn't the first time over used them. Every time I've had someone different and every time they're great and have solved some tricky problems. Once a clogged drain necessitated an entire repointing under the kitchen sink (again, call G&M first but I let my boyfriend take a crack at it first). The problem had my man cursing and yelling up a storm the night before. This guy came in and NO LIE -- SANG -- while he worked. Bottom line, they have been able to fix all sorts of problems around my house and they're reasonably priced. Even the times I've thought "holy hell" when I saw the bill it's been a reflection of the time, expertise, and complexity of the project. Oh and yeah, plumber wore a mask the while time and didn't comment or complain...unfortunately been rare with tradesmen. read more

Job took 45 min. Charged me for an hour and a half plus service call for another $30. Claim they get paid for the time it takes them to get from last job to next. The joke being, the territory they cover is small. And should only take 15 minutes to get anywhere from the last job. Therefore the very least overcharged me for 30 minutes. Then when I had an issue and they came back out, they still wanted to charge me even though they did the install and it wasn't functioning correctly. read more

We bought a home and this company was assigned to fix the underground drain as part of the repair we requested to get done on the house. After we move into the house we found out one drainage was No working properly and one was repair poorly. We thought they neglected to provide the proper repair needed for the underground damage. They claim to understand how underground would works but now we stuck having the drain repair again. Dont trust this company specially for realstate transaction. They take all the $ for a half job. We had a small leak in a shower drain on 3rd floor. I called G & M because their site indicated they are a family owned company and I knew with this type of job it required a company that will care about the needs of homeowners with small but important jobs, as well as the larger projects they handle. Brian came over and assessed the work, and told me it was a fairly simple job. Another plumber i called told me I needed to rip out the bathroom, shower tray and glass doors and re-do the entire tile/tray set up. Brian came over a couple of days later, and fixed the problem within 2 hours. He was congenial, professional, efficient and clean. I highly recommend calling G & M for your needs. read more

Very accommodating and friendly staff. The customer service was excellent! I can never say that anymore sadly but this place was absolutely fantastic! They have me as a lifelong customer now. I'm a first-time homeowner and Troy was super patient and answered all of my questions. He was very informative. I felt like he cared for my house as if it was his. Fantastic experience! Don was the one that came out to what we all thought would be a simple snaking of the main house line. Unfortunately, it turned into an 8 hour ordeal of stubborn tree roots. Not once did he seem to be in bad spirits, even after his cable broke. He did have to call for backup, but he didn't leave until it the job was complete. I felt terrible that he was there until midnight as I'm sure he would have much rather been home! But he got the job done and was friendly the entire time. I needed a cast iron sewage stack replaced in my basement. They did good work and are priced reasonably.

The company did a great job with our issue. It was fixed promptly and efficiently. My advice would be to pay close attention to the quote you receive and time actually worked. The billed hours were exaggerated from actual time worked and included "material pickup charge" 40. "trip charge" 30.00 and a 2x markup on parts. These were excessive charges I felt. read more

Great experience! We have been burned the past 2 or 3 contractor/home renovations and were not holding our breath on finding a company to handle a plumbing issue that came up with the shower drain clogging. We called and set up a same day appointment with G&M. Eric came out to take and look and had excellent customer service, super friendly, and took the time to explain what caused the issue and further recommend a more permanent fix. He got us up and running for literally a fraction of the cost of what we were quoted from a well known Roto company in town.
