Chef Jesse and her team were simply extraordinary! The presentation, the flavors, and the care she put into every detail made our son's life ceremony at the church an unforgettable experience. Her menu was nothing short of spectacular--thoughtfully blending Spanish heritage with Asian influences so all of our guests felt embraced and delighted. The tortilla española and vegetable spring rolls were the clear stars of the menu--authentic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But the flan... oh, the flan! Every one of our Spanish family agreed it was even better than Abuela's (a statement not made lightly). It was the most heavenly flan we've ever tasted--creamy, rich, and perfectly set. Guests are still talking about it. The lavender lemonade was also a refreshing and elegant touch that paired beautifully with the meal. Chef Jessie did an amazing job for our party! I spent a long time looking for the perfect chef or catering company for our party. Catering companies have little flexibility to customize and other chefs didn't see right for the job. Food is so crucial at a party and after reading Chef Jessie's reviews and talking to her I felt confident she was right for the job. I totally made the right decision. I can not rave more about Jessie. Literally everyone at my husband's Surprise 50th Birthday last week was (and still is) stating how incredible her food and presentation was! There was so much food, and when I provided her with my husband's pescatarian diet she came up with the PERFECT MENU. Where do I start?! She's so AMAZING in every way and she was lovely from the moment I met her which started with the food tasting. She walked in very professional and did her thing we even managed to get in a few laughs with my crazy friend and my mom and step dad. She adjusted the menu as we tasted and I mentioned to her that my now husband was a super foodie and that I really was judging for him...I know right!? "no pressure" My husband last minute could not make the tasting because he had to work so we were being critics in his honor. Anyways that day she asked me how much time I would need and how many tasting I was having? and I said a few more lol but I already knew I would go with her and did not need to do any other tastings. She was great to communicate, easy to pay, she worked with my budget while still having incredible quality in food. She is so sweet and his this wonderful calming vibe about her that just makes you feel at ease. Okay so let's skip to the wedding day. The lovely staff brought the bridal party appetizers during cocktail hour since we were on the other side taking pictures, so she made sure she fed us too and we got to enjoy everything. Then she started the buffet and everyone was loving the food (see photos attached) beautiful set-up, the chicken was to the perfect temp ( she undercooked it so it wouldn't dry out while on the buffet table). Her and her staffed helped with all the cleaning and cake cutting services and packed everything up for me. Every time I looked around I saw her around helping out and that was just beyond any of my expectations. My day of coordinator went out of her way to tell me that it was a pleasure working with her and her staff. All of my next events that need catering will definitely be through her. Celebrated our daughter's wedding with an outdoor, dockside party at our home this past Saturday, Everything said about Chef Jessie in the reviews is true. Food abundant, presentation incredible, perfect Mediterranean menu which met all eclectic and particular dietary needs. Her staff was amazing as well, so friendly and helpful. I though I would have leftovers.....WRONG. All gone. Food was ordered perfectly. They did save me a wee bit of the wonderful tomato soup served with grilled cheese, my particular fave. Also requested a small children's grazing table which was easy to pick friendly foods from. Her Bartender was superb as well, and Jessie was particularly helpful in assisting me with the specific rental needs/barware necessary. I recently went with some friends to an event at the Hollywood Bowl and offered to handle the food in exchange for the tickets. Knowing that the others were a bit more 'foodie' than I was, I knew I needed professional help and reached out to a number of private chefs on yelp to plan a picnic for 4 with a few restrictions. I decided on Chef Jessie not only because she was extremely quick to respond to my questions and emails, but because her menu was unique, diverse, and well within budget. While she was open to discussing various menu options, her initial proposal was great and I didn't want to make any changes. It was a great mix of substantial main course, various appetizers and sides, and TWO desserts! I was extremely pleased, and a bit shocked, at just how much food she prepared! It was literally enough to where I considered only taking half and keeping the other half for myself for the next day. She also handled packaging everything in individual containers for easy transportation to the Bowl, as well as providing extra container options and even ice packs that I had forgotten to obtain. Just shows how much thought and consideration she put into the order to help make the event a success. At the Bowl, everyone was very impressed with the selection (and the amount of food!). While everything was great, everyone had their own favorite. Even more shocking, my wife, who normally does not like meat, has become addicted to the Italian sandwich that Chef Jessie made, and is already comparing (criticizing) other Italian sandwiches as she searches for a comparable taste and 'meatiness'. All in all, working with Chef Jessie was a great experience and I would be more than happy to work with her again for any event. I know she would not only provide an amazing menu, but also make the entire process smooth and stress free. I used Chef Jessie for two parties and ther food was out of this world. For one party I wanted a Greek theme and not only did she make great food that fit the theme but also decorated to make you feel like you were in Greece. The hummus bar and the chicken skewers were my favorite. The baklava was delicious. The second party was for my office. She made a variety of appetizers, dips, and fabulous cupcakes for dessert. Jessie and crew did an outstanding job this past weekend when she and helpers provided catering services at Sunday brunch. It was to be an intimate affair for family and friends. All guests were very impressed with the presentation of the menu selections, as well as, the taste of each food selection. VERY UNHAPPY. I placed an order for lunch yesterday totaling approximately $650 for 22 people--visitors we want to impress. This morning I arrived into work with a message that now A Wayfaring Chef cannot fulfill this order--really?! Cancelling with less than 3 hours notice for a hot meal for 22? That would have been nice to know yesterday when I had time to find a comparable replacement. Their unprofessionalism makes me look incompetent and I and the replacement caterer have to scramble to repair this, with limited options. Probably good food, but we'll never know. Chef Jessie was really fabulous to work with. We had a tight budget for our holiday party but big dreams (and a fairly large guest list). She communicated regularly with me throughout the planning and met all our requests. Her team arrived on time and set up right away. She brought flowers and other decorating touches without being asked to do so - all to create a very pretty scene. The food she delivered tasted great and kept steadily coming out throughout the entire party. We also asked for a hot chocolate bar and were so excited by what she put together. There were all sorts of toppings, including homemade marshmallows that were especially delicious. The hot chocolate itself was amazing. Seriously haven't had such good tasting hot chocolate before. When the event finished, the kitchen space was immaculate and everything was so clean no one would know she had ever been there. All to say, Chef Jessie and her team far exceeded our expectations.
