Ask the Community - A World of Difference Child Development Center

Hello, I was wondering if you do like 3-4 hours a day and maybe 3 days a week and also what would that cost if there is a schedule like that ? Or in you don't have that schedule, could you tell me if you have something similar. Thank you.

Depends on the structure and/or activities planned out if we are talking about my own son. Personally I think the 3-4 hour mark is a great timeframe to shoot for since so many times we've done things that were 1-1.5 hours that seem like not enough…

Not only has he improved his motor skills since he started weekly classes, he has learned so much sign language and has become very independent! We always get told that he seems advanced for his age and I think the little gym has played a huge role in that. I love our mommy & me classes because it gives us a chance to bond, meet other families, and learn along with our kids. The staff here is amazing as well. They're all so welcoming and you can tell they really love what they do and the kiddos.

They obviously don't understand that if a class is 3-5 year olds a FOUR year old child belongs in it. When it was further explained to them why my child could not be placed with older children the woman disregarded not only her actual age, but her special needs as well and stated that for insurance purposes it was better for them to put a smaller child with older children. So if your child requires even the slightest help or has any special needs I would go elsewhere. They obviously don't care.

We spent all that $$$ (more than $40 for 3 admissions), but we didn't really get to use all of the places in the museum because my toddler is way too young to understand what's going on to even apply her skills to those areas. The children's museum is a great place for a kid who wants to learn. My toddler just wants to jump around and be crazy. I actually wanted to go to South Hill Mall for shopping, but my toddler led me to this place because she saw slides and balloons. All you have to do is to sign up for your phone to be registered with the place, which the internet at South Hill Mall sucks for my T-Mobile, so the attendant had to register it for me. Anyway, she advised me the registration would be valid for 3 years from today. It's basically $12 including tax on the weekends per kid, and you can stay there as long as you'd like. It isn't charged hourly. My toddler has a blast at this place. She loves the area with the fan blowing the balloons around and the bouncy/ slide area. Lol ! I am definitely coming back here for my toddler to exert her crazy energy out!

They have a small arcade area when you walk in. You can also pay to play with the steam tables in a different section. There are snacks and some bites of food sold inside. I didn't notice much people opting for it. I would def recommend bringing a water bottle in, they are $2.50 a bottle inside. There was free black coffee set out for parents, but I didn't see any creamer. Two restrooms inside that were big, nice and clean. The kids had fun jumping in the ball pit, foam pit, some trampoline. There is a fun beaded pit with some toys to play with. Great place to burn the kids energy for the day.

However, trying to book a party myself has been incredibly frustrating. I've called multiple times at different times of the day, and no one ever answers the phone. I also sent a message on Instagram, which wasn't seen until the next day, and even then, it was left on read with no response. For a business that is clearly active and posting, that level of communication is really disappointing. The lack of customer service makes it very difficult to move forward with booking, especially when the website doesn't clearly answer all questions. I prefer being able to speak to someone directly, and not having that option, or any response at all, is frustrating. It's unfortunate because we were genuinely excited to book here based on our previous experience, but the poor communication ultimately cost them our business.

At first the storefront can appear rather small, but upon entering you see it's a pretty nice size. First, there is a check in counter. The entire play area is walled for safety, and there is a shoe cubby at the front along with storage for personal items. There is a small store at the left with little tchotchkes for purchase as well. The staff is always friendly and checks us in promptly. The pricing is very reasonable per child ($17 for 2 hours) which makes this a regular activity for us. There is an initial large room that has items like a pirate ship climbing gym/slide, a bunch of different variations of sensory swings, and even a tiny toddler dress up area. One of my favorite parts is the kids sized zip line with crash pad. Both of my kids are proprioceptive sensory seekers so this is one of their favorite activities. As you pass the large room, there's a party room to your right you can book for birthdays and other events, and there is a quiet room to your left, that's blacklight-lit and full of cool glow in the dark/LED features. Then directly behind the large room, there is a hallway that runs parallel and connects the quiet room to the party room. The hallway features smaller toys and buildable toys, like choo choo trains and Legos. There's also a pinball machine and an arcade machine. I think the most important piece of this location is the motto on their wall that says this is the place you never have to be sorry. As a mom of two autistic kids, I usually feel I have to explain them/apologize for them when we go out. It feels so nice to have a brief reprieve from that and be able to see your kids truly enjoy themselves exactly in the way that they are. It's a place of acceptance too - neurodivergent kids or not - all are welcome. I think what would make the place even better is if there was a way to pay a little extra to extend the play an extra hour.
