I have been getting my Yorkie groomed here since 2016. My parents had getting their Yorky groomed at yuppie puppy since about 2010. After the passing of my parents, Yorkie, I continue to patronize yuppie puppy. All the while, seeing the standards steadily climb down and down each session that I took my puppy to get groomed. With that I stopped tipping as much as I used to always still leaving a tip, but never as much as I used to because I wasn't getting the quality of cut that I used to get there. And the service has never been kind so I mean, what was I paying for? Horrible customer service and a horrible cut very overpriced. On multiple occasions my dogs' nails were trimmed too short which caused it to bleed. The groomers did not notice until I said something. I understand that sometimes it happens so I continued to take my dogs back here. However today, I noticed my dog licking his paw after getting his nails trimmed. A Yuppy Puppy is great! I take my parents English Lab here and he always looks his best when I pick him up. They are fantastic at desheddjng, always make sure he smells good and has a great smile. Usually he's very shy when I take him in but when I come back he's wagging his tail and I can tell he feels so much better and that they've treated him well. The first visit was not the best experience they called me that she was very mad and they didn't want to touch her. I arrived at the grooming salon and my dog was in the corner very scared and she smelled very bad! I never seen my baby dog so scared. It was not her first grooming experience! Then I comfort her and I asked if they could try to cut her hair while I was present my dog was perfectly fine with no problems and she had a good haircut. The only thing that bothered me was sanitation while grooming the dogs, they had piles of dog hair in the floor! I didn't like my dog to step in others dogs hair it was very unsanitary! Then I took her for the second time and she had an excellent haircut. But my third time not the best how ever the owner contacted me and she is now grooming my dogs hair and she is doing a great job! This place is great and Sharon is so accommodating! She will also provide pet daycare either for half a day or full day. My baby always comes out looking nicely groomed and also smelling great. They use a nice scent whether it's the shampoo or something, you can guarantee they are taking care of your pet. I give 4 stars because if Sharon is not there then you might deal with a not-so-friendly person. We did an on phone orientation about how I wanted her hair done and I was impressed that they had these notes when I checked her in this morning. They were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The woman that groomed my pup was very detail oriented and did such an amazing job on Augie's hair. When I picked her up she was happy and calm. I was mind blown on how nice it was inside. It did not even smell like wet dogs inside. The front lobby look awesome (retail items for sale and display), the dog grooming stations looked great, and the staff seemed friendly. I drove over three cities because of COVID-19 everybody was booked out very far out or not taking in any new customers. The Yuppie Puppy was able to get me in, in about a week. My 2 dogs came out of there looking great! I sure wish I lived a lot closer. I do highly recommend this place. They were accommodating, clean, swift and efficient with my two dogs. Our groomer Sharon is the best groomer around. She groomed our Shitzu and she looks amazing and smells great. She has been our groomer for over 15 years. She has groomed all of our pets. Many have passed. She is very compassionate in work. She has always talked and been valet compassionate about are pets. I highly recommend her business. Very sweet lady. Pointer: Be sure to ask for prices of the grooming esp when a different groomer is doing the work. Apparently, they are all independent contractors and their pricing can vary widely. For instance, our regular groomer was out on vacation and had been charging us $35. to work on our dog. We had a different groomer while she was out and the stand-in groomer charged us $47. A 33% increase! Not fair. So, don't assume anything with the pricing to avoid being surprised like we were. Otherwise, the grooming is good and they care well for your pet. Update: The owner Sharon called my wife and expressed concern about this issue of price variances due to contractor staffing. She was understanding of our issue and is addressing it to our satisfaction. Thank you Sharon for being a responsive and caring business proprietor. Okay so I took baby here a couple weeks ago NEVER again. First off there are several people including the owner are not vaccinated and nobody wears a mask. I guess they don't realize they can pass covid to pets. I won't put my baby in harms way. Secound there was hair everywhere didn't look like anyone had swept all day and I am pretty sure one brush was used on every dog. Third the language was atrocious and disgusting some old s short lady who looked angry was yelling. Needless to.say the.health department needs to pay them a visit oh and.lastley the tip of baby's ear was severely cut they tried to cover it up with super glue but I ended up taking her to the vet and getting stitches . Took my dog here a while back and just now decided to make a review about my first experience here. First, I asked for my dog to be washed and for his fur to be cut. There was NO sign that my dog was bathed - he was still dirty in a number of places. Second, I like to have my dog shaved every couple months, just to prevent matted fur, shedding, etc. He is half Pomeranian, half chihuahua. With fur he looks Pom, without he looks chihuahua: basically super cute both ways. When I asked the worker out in front to shave my dog, she gave me SO much attitude for wanting my dog to go bald. I told her that he is actually half chihuahua. She replied with a smirk, slight eye roll, and sarcastic "okaaaay." If my dog didn't look so cute after, I would give this place one star. We got our dog groomed yesterday and he came back itchy and miserable. He kept licking and scratching for a few hours and once we were able to look, he had numerous knicks and scratches all over his body. He is not a difficult dog to groom and our normal groomer has never sent him home in this state. He had a large cut on the base of his penis which has gotten very irritated from him (understandably) licking himself... he also has a bruise under his front leg. my husband said that when he picked him up and dropped him off, he witnessed lots of dogs yelping while being groomed. Was excited to bring my dog for her first ever grooming session. Made her an appointment 2 weeks ago for today at 9am. Came in about 5 minutes early and checked her in. The staff that greeted me was sweet and that's why I gave 2 stars. My dog is 4 months old and weighs 2 pounds and I understand that time varies from an hour to max 3 for her size. At 2:30, about 5 1/2 hours of waiting I went to ask about her and was told that she wasn't done yet and that it would take another 45 minutes to an hour?! For this tiny little thing who barely has anything to groom?!? I'm wondering if she was put off to the side until last minute to do other dogs first. It took a total of 6 hours before I got a call that she was done. I would honestly rather take her to Petco or any other place. This was ridiculous. Lisa is simply amazing! I have an 80lb block of a dog that falls into the "difficult to groom" category. When I adopted him he was 3 yrs old, completely untrained, and not used to being groomed nor was he accustomed to any handling that wasn't petting. He would spook when things were done he wasn't familiar with, and if he was realy uncertain, he would growl and even snap. I live in the bay area and due to a medical condition, am unable to physically struggle with him. The first groomer I took him to the day after i got him, was able to bathe him but not dry him, and was only able to tip 1 toenail. She said he was too much dog for her to groom. 2nd groomer was able to wash his body but not his head, no nails, no dry, and they asked me to pick him up. Lisa had groomed some of my dogs years ago and i knew she was great with all sized dogs, and always made sure the dogs she groomed were comfortable and had a positive experience. I decided to make the drive out to Modesto to see if she could tame the beast. We went on a Saturday. She spent time giving him love and cookies and getting him comfortable with her. She was able to bathe him with him giving her kisses throughout. He wasn't thrilled with the bathing process, but he tolerated it well. He let her dry him which until that point was something that according to him, wasn't ever even on the table of a maybe in his world. He initially lost his marbles when she went to do his nails and went into his routine of bucking and snarling. I asked that she muzzle him just in case and while she didn't think it was necessary, she obliged. Her assistant helped hold him and after the first paw it was smooth sailing. Clipped and dremmeled his nails! Each time he's gone to see Lisa, it's just gotten better and better, and he's no longer a difficult dog to grroom. He's gone on to become a very successful showdog who takes grooming in stride. He loves going to see his Lisa and it makes me feel good how genuinely happy they are to see each other. Sure the drive from Vallejo to Modesto is a long one, but well worth it to have my dog become a stable, well adjusted companion, rather than a dog that hates to be groomed. She goes at your dog's pace, whatever that is, and always puts him in the cutest bandanas. Wish she was closer but am willing to travel for this level of service. I'd give her 100 stars. Super convenient Saturday hours since I work, and she's even taken him last minute late in the day. If only I could get spa service at the same time lol read more
