I went to A1 Ag because they have somehow made it to the top of every search for Organic Produce in the Lathrop/Tracy. Unfortunately, my experience couldn't pull in more than 1 star for me personally, as I was looking for organic :( First impression and good points is that they have a larger variety than a simple produce stand and they are located very close to exit off the freeway. Staff was less than welcoming, with 4 gentlemen sitting by the register at the entrance who seemed disinterested in their customers and annoyed (older man) when asked a question. I walked the whole store and couldn't find any organic produce. I asked a man stocking the produce if they carry organic and he shrugged and pointed me to ask the man at the front. (Hard pass since I knew how that would go and I didn't see any). I wasn't interested enough to look at pricing, so I am not helpful there, sorry. I left the market and saw that they have a fairly large garden space where they grow their fruit and veggies. Which would be great, but they are literally 100ft down a slight embankment from the I5 Freeway, so I imagine they are exposed to lots of emissions, etc. I added a screenshot of their location for perspective. I wouldn't recommend A1Ag for organic or even as a first choice despite their current rating, but I imagine there are a lot of folks who may love it. read more

Not sure if we just caught this place at a bad time because we heard lots of great things about it, and it was a constant flow of customers coming in and out. We can definitely see the lure to folks shopping here for what they had available. But we found most of the fruit in the bins to be passed their prime or rotting away. The customer service also much to be desired and was not as expected. There was one individual that barely even gave eye to eye contact with us and the other did not acknowledge us until we were ready to pay. Didn't seem very friendly at all. But we did make a purchase and we're probably will not return here. read more

Be cautious with the old man that works as the cashier. He will overcharge you on produce. Some do not have a price tag. He'll punch in whatever price he sees fit and will never include his promo prices even when its posted. Never says a word to me. Always tells my wife about deals though lol funny how I can pay almost twice as much for the same produce. I go here anytime I want fresh vegetables that I don't need to buy in bulk from Costco. Their prices are better than SaveMart, their produce is almost always fresher, as well as, and I know that quite a bit of their produce is grown locally, usually within 5 miles of their location. And their honey made from a local apiary has actually helped reduce our seasonal allergies (I actually read an article that featured a study showing that eating honey made from pollen of plants you're allergic to can reduce the severity of your allergies). During corn harvesting season, they have some of the best corn around at awesome prices. read more

We absolutely love going here! Who doesn't love buying fresh produce that are locally grown?! The prices are very affordable. The people that work here are super nice and friendly. They just got done doing their watermelon giveaway on their FB page. Nice local grown vegetables and nice eggs friendly service I will be going there more often

Only 1 person working as a cashier. This place has a pretty wide variety of produce, but you see a lot of rotten fruits and veggies that should've been removed. The cashier even asked if I wanted to buy the 2 lb strawberries for the same price as the 1 lb boxes, but they were old and a lot of them were moldy. It's just bad business trying to sell old and moldy products. read more

I heard about this place from a nice guy that mentioned it to me while I was at Safeway produce area. Had to get myself over to A1 Ag as soon as possible. Great market off the freeway and you gotta support the locals. Open 7a-6p everyday! Get your vegetables, fruits, nuts, honey, milk, eggs, firewood, plants and eggs. After my 2nd visit, I learned a new thing, they have a reward system using your phone number. Today I received a text message to view specials and inventory & prices. What a gem!!! About 10 minutes off the freeway from downtown Stockton in Lathrop. We come here for all the farm fresh veggies and fruit, very reasonable and local. Some standouts are fresh okra, eggplant and cara cara oranges! Their grapes are super sweet. Great cilantro and zucchini. They often carry pineapple, mango and even dragon fruit. They also sell farm fresh eggs, small plants and herbs to start your own garden and firewood. During the pandemic they even sold rice and beans with no price gouging, offered in both large 20/40lb bags and broken down in to smaller 1-2 lb portions. Long overdue review, but I still stand by it til this day! I've lived in lathrop for many years now & have always passed by this stand. It wasn't until Sept 2019 when I finally decided to come stop by since I needed lots of fruit to put together a DIY fruit cup bar for an art event I was throwing (expected about 80-100 guests). I was able to get enough fruits and some extra goodies for about $40. Once everything was cut up, I definitely had more than enough for everyone! The fruit is SO fresh and sweet, great quality, and priced amazingly. Now fast forward to current day -- with the quarantine/lockdown in place and people overbuying at grocery stores, it was nice to come back here & see there was plenty of produce AND lots of people shopping! I love to see the community supporting our local farmers. I hope people will continue to come shop here even after the lockdown is lifted. read more

This place is so crazy! In such a good way!! First of all it's in an out of the way kind of road but right off the freeway. A friend told us about it and we went. Plenty of parking. Pull and and go Inside. There's so much produce! Everything from cherries to eggplants and mangoes! Then outside is a whole nursery of plants for your garden! LOTS of plants!!! Because it's literally a farmers market, meaning everything is from the farm weather it's across the street or right out front, they run specials weekly and the guy who runs the place looks mean but he is super nice. This place is fantastic. They have great, fresh produce for sale at very reasonable prices (some would say too low, but I wouldn't because I don't want to ruin a good thing). And because they grow a lot of their produce, they let you pick your own if you'd prefer that. I was trying to buy some fresno peppers, and they had a decent selection out but I wanted to see if I could get some bright, red ones to make hot sauce. The owner took me to where the fresno peppers were growing and I just lost it. I never cared for picking fruits, but picking fresh fresno peppers this was a magical experience. I picked up a bunch, paid a very modest price, and made hot sauce wit them the next day. Best hot sauce I've ever made. read more

Went there for the first time this past Monday. Pulling up the shop looks run down and nothing special about it. It's settled on a tiny bit of land with vegetables growing. They also sell vegetable plants Walking in the farmers market it's more like a shack. They have an okay variety and the prices are ok. Some of the quality of things weren't very good. Like the mangos were a bit past their time and so was the cherries, blueberries, strawberries. The girl working there was nice but the owner came out and got snippy with my husband. He seems like an asshole. Definitely won't be going back. Denise's down the road is way better a tiny bit more expensive but the quality plus service is A+ read more

To me it was very sad. I thought there were going to be organic products, as advertised There were none. There weren't any that were pesticide free. When I asked the man working there for any of the products were organic seed rather brusquely and indolently said with a shrug "if they're not labeled organic, then they're not." OK, fine. Thank you so much for your glowing description and help. The eggs were commercial. They were in flats of 30, I was expecting organic, free range eggs. The quality of the produce was marginal. Some of it wasn't even from California, let alone local. Seriously. Washington State apples? The whole vibe was kind of depressing. It didn't seem like was any effort to make it lively, nor marginally attractive. Barely a glorified warehouse IMHO. read more

I was here last weekend and found it quite difficult to find someone to speak to help with plants out front. I purchased honey and nuts that were really reasonably priced though. The docked star was because a good amount of the produce was wilting/looked old.. The farmers market was nice, but the cashier was the only person assisting the customers, he would then stop checking out customers to go outside and direct the patrons who were picking their produce outside while leaving all your paying customers inside unattended. The cashier provided no apology or explanation and no one ever called for extra assistance. So we returned our merchandise to their perspective shelving and left. read more
