CARSTAR Custom 77 is AMAZING and I am so happy my family recommended me to get my car fixed here…read more My Uncle and Grandfather have took their vehicle here over the years both my uncle and mother suggested I come her to get my bumper fixed after an accident. In January, I was in a car accident and my front bumper was cracked and grill was completely damaged. My first visit was receiving an estimate for the insurance claim. It was definitely a quick exchange; Rian will be the first person you see at the front desk. She is so amazing and helpful. She was able to answer my questions and also give me advise with dealing with Allstate. SN: If you have Allstate or someone who damaged your car has Allstate... PREPARE FOR A HEADACHE! Anyways, Rian was amazing and also the other guys. My car was there for several weeks and they kept me in the loop... I definitely liked that I was able to rent a car at enterprise and they met me at the body shop and I could leave my rental at Custom 77 when I got my car back. It was a smooth and efficient process. My car looked GREAT! They replace everything and gave my baby a wash. I am so happy about my experience and really appreciate their hard work. I recommend this place to everyone... You can trust them and their work! Thank you for everything!

POSTED IN RESPONSE TO MONTAGE P. ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER OF B&G AUTO CENTER…read more Dear Montage P., Thank you for your review. We would like the opportunity to address your points: 1. You called to ask about the cost and time to fix a transmission leak. We replied that we needed to inspect the vehicle first. You asked if it could be done the same day, and we noted it was possible, but no promises were made. 2. Regarding location confusion, you were informed of our location over the phone and agreed to have the vehicle towed to us. 3. Regarding communication, we called you the same day the truck arrived to inform you that it would not start or crank. We explained we cannot diagnose a transmission leak if the vehicle is not running. You were advised to expect delays as we had to manually relocate the vehicle into the work stall. You admitted to knowing about the starting issue but did not inform us beforehand. We also charged your battery because it tested low. 4. Regarding delays, the next evening we installed the battery and still had no crank. It took five people to push the truck into the stall. We diagnosed the transmission leak as the transmission lines and determined you also needed a starter. We advised you of the pricing and informed you that only the dealer had the lines available, which would affect the cost. You stated that completing the work as soon as possible was your priority because it is a work truck, and that price was not an issue. In approximately 24 hours your truck arrived, the battery was charged, and the vehicle problems were diagnosed, yet you viewed this as a delay. 5. Regarding repair price discrepancies: The next day parts were obtained and the work was completed on the starter and transmission lines. While doing a final check, the technician found that your cooling fans were not turning at all. This will cause overheating issues 100% of the time. We quoted you a price for the fans and you agreed, reiterating that money was not an issue but time was. With additional work authorized, the final price naturally changed. When we finished the initial contracted work on the starter and lines, payment was due. You added the fan repair but stated you could not pay for three days, at which point we requested a deposit. You had a problem with our policy requiring a deposit for add-on work, despite having paid nothing up to this point. We agreed to make an exception for you if you would pick up the vehicle on Saturday. We also pushed to complete the work quickly so you could attend to your business matters, finishing the vehicle Saturday morning in time for your appointments. We were closed that afternoon for the 4th of July holiday. We should not be expected to answer the phone when we are closed for a holiday. However, when you reached out via FB Messenger, we returned your call at 2:00 AM. When you mentioned the truck was overheating, we reinforced our concerns about potential engine damage from running the vehicle severely hot, especially since it is unclear how long you drove without functioning cooling fans. Finally, you were asked to inform us when the tow was on the way. 6. Your post-service problem has nothing to do with the services rendered. We were never asked or paid to diagnose your truck's overall health. We were told to fix a transmission leak, and the starter and fan clutch were technician finds. Your current overheating is more than likely being caused by existing engine damage. 7. CONCLUSION: - Is the truck starting and running? YES. It arrived on a tow truck not starting at all. FIXED. - Are the transmission lines leaking? NO. Once the truck was running, fluid poured out, which has been resolved. FIXED. - Are the fans now turning and blowing adequate air to the engine? YES. They came in not turning at all, and you had no prior knowledge of this. FIXED. - Was all work and pricing approved by you before being done? OF COURSE. It was nice meeting you and it was our pleasure to fix all of your concerns. Our only regret is that we did not meet you earlier to warn you about the dangers of driving the vehicle in 90-degree weather without cooling fans. It is a shame that the several "local mechanics" who you consulted with earlier did not notice this. I urge all customers to bring their repair needs to us first, instead of consulting other "local mechanics". Best of luck to you. Call if you need anything. BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!! Subject: A Cautionary Tale…read moreRegarding B and G Auto Dear Readers, I feel compelled to share my unfortunate experience with B and G Auto, located at 2206 E. 75th Street, Chicago, IL, in hopes of preventing others from encountering similar frustrations. Overview of My Experience: 1. Initial Breakdown: On July 1, 2026, my vehicle began to overheat and leak transmission fluid, prompting a call to AAA for a tow. After consulting several local mechanics, I chose B and G Auto based on the owner's assurances of immediate diagnostic services. 2. Relocation Confusion: Upon contacting the shop, I discovered they had recently relocated from Harvey. I agreed to have my vehicle towed to the new address, hopeful for swift assistance. 3. Lack of Communication: After the tow, I experienced significant delays in communication. The owner, Alverdis Alexander, failed to respond to my calls for about 20 minutes after taking my keys. When I finally reached him, I was met with vague reassurances and no clear updates. 4. Further Delays: Despite their advertised opening time of 9:30 AM on July 2, I received no updates until I called at 1 PM. When I arrived at 1:45 PM, my vehicle remained on the street, and I was unexpectedly charged for a battery charge, which had not been previously communicated. 5. Repair Pricing Discrepancies: After initially agreeing to necessary repairs (starter and transmission lines), the cost escalated dramatically when the owner informed me of additional issues with the fan. I felt pressured to approve these unforeseen expenses, and when I requested to pay at pickup, the owner's reaction was unprofessionally irate. 6. Post-Service Complications: After retrieving my vehicle on July 4, I encountered immediate issues, with the car stalling shortly thereafter. Despite several attempts to contact the owner, I received minimal assistance, culminating in a suggestion that I might have blown a head gasket. Conclusion: This experience has not only caused substantial inconvenience but has also led to unexpected financial strain due to uncommunicated repairs and unsatisfactory service. It is crucial to bring these practices to light, as they can significantly impact other consumers in our community. I urge potential customers to consider these points carefully before engaging with B and G Auto. Ethical business practices are essential, and it is my hope that this review prompts a necessary review of their operations. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Montage Pheloan
