Oscar and the A1 team did an excellent job on our new floors! We were connected with A1 through the GC overseeing our whole house renovation. Admittedly, I was a little worried at first because communication seemed to be a bit slow; I chalked it up to construction/contractors MO. But once Oscar was on the job, I could see why communication was slow - it is all about the attention he is giving to the job he is on. When Oscar is on your job, he is on YOUR job - no interruptions; full attention! I received numerous progress photos and texts throughout the installation to keep me informed. He kept us up-to-date from prep to finish; it was as if I was on-site doing a walk-through every couple hours. Oscar was quick to recommend and use a self-leveling compound to even out the subflooring and now that the new floor is in, you'd never guess there were multiple different materials (original house, old addition, etc....) underneath our new floor, it is so quiet and smooth with no air bubbles creaking or squeaking. I had worked with Oscar at A-! Carpet and Floors on one other project so when my tenants at a luxury high rise in Long Beach vacated over the Christmas Holidays, I called him. Time to get that old carpet out and install the ( LVP) Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring I had used before with beautiful results at another rental. It has held up amazingly and I wanted to use the exact same product again. Just before installation day, I was advised that HOA board approval was necessary and also the approval of an acoustical engineering company they selected. This can be a daunting process. With the holidays, the board meeting schedule had changed and many things happened to delay my project. Oscar quickly provided the necessary paperwork to show that they are bonded, licensed, and insured with all the proper credentials. Oscar and his team were very busy with other jobs but he worked around this to accommodate the schedule to complete my job on time before my new tenant would be moving in. The flooring I wanted wasn't available and he sent his son Chris all the way down from Santa Clarita to Long Beach with similar samples for me to choose from. I wanted to see them them with the lighting in that apartment and we selected the perfect match. The HOA board required a particular type of cork soundproofing material and Oscar knew just what was necessary also a special sealant etc. It became more and more expensive but I went back to Oscar and he worked it out to stay within my budget, well maybe a little over but he was fair and flexible and accommodating to deal with. The way he bills the job, you make progress payments with a simple quick books app that is secure and easy to use. The transformation is amazing and when I went back to inspect the job and found a few small things that needed addressing, I took pictures, spoke to Oscar, and he had Tony there the next day to complete the additional work and address my concerns. I recently bought my floors through SimpleFloors with Danny Golden after buying a new home from a contractor who was going to charge me an arm and a leg for flooring. I had no choice I have two cats and I couldn't have anything but laminate flooring. The process was as good as it gets honestly. Oscar was easily reached and answered all my questions whatever time of day or however annoying I was pestering him every 2 hours for things. These guys are like magic they demoed carpet and tiles along with installing almost 2000 square feet of flooring (mind you we had 50 stair steps) in under a week and they cleaned up well and it looked like the house was brand new. My husband and I just bought our first home and it had SUPER ugly floors -- a hideous combination of tile and scuffed up dark engineered wood. His main installer, Francisco, and the team arrived promptly every single day of the three week job and often worked more than 8-hour days in order to finish various phases of the job. They cleaned up every day and put their tools and materials in an organized place in the house. Most importantly, their attention to detail was superb. Every corner, edge, stair, bullnose and riser is tight and sharp. They navigated appliances, cabinetry and other obstacles really well. We did have some issues with the materials delivery from the supplier not being of the proper dye lot and Oscar and Francisco took extra care to work with us and select the proper boards that matched the rest of the flooring accordingly. Oscar and his Crew were Great, They installed Select Grade engineered hardwood in our Hillside Encino 4 bedroom home. They show up when they promise, and work from early Am to late in day. They first demolished our old 40 year old spanish tile, that some other contractors claimed would be very difficult. Oscars team made it look easy, They know what they are doing and are very Hard working. They leveled and smoothed the floors than They spread Special Waterproof Sealer prior to laying the glue and engineered hardwood. They are pro's, perfect troweling, great layout of our boards, great quality control and inspection when laying the wood. Their team works in Sync, its obvious they do lots of jobs because of their skill and teamwork. Our House looks great , Oscars team did special Square Bullnose for our sunken Living , it looks Awesome. They also did a beautiful patterned entryway, very classy!
