Having used Brent's Carpet One Floor & Home years ago with excellent satisfaction, we had no hesitation turning to them for a major flooring installation that invoved manufactured hardwood throughout our living room, family room, kitchen, stairway and loft. This involved very intricate cuts and piecing together in several locations. Once again, Victor (our installer) came through with meticulous craftmanship and attention to detail on every level. Our remodel contractor had taken us to other floor installation locations yet nothing compared to Brent's seletion. Our contractor is so impressed with our outcome that they will now direct future clients to Brent's. We had a very minor job. Just needed a small section of padding replaced in our downstairs room, because our dog pee'd on the floor. After being told the job was too small by several companies or flat out ignored, Ben came to the rescue. He responded quickly and arranged for the job to be fixed within a couple days. His guys came on time and were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Great experience, great customer service and when it comes time to replace the carpet I will definitely use them in the future. Well we scheduled with them and we moved most of all our things beforehand. Nobody called to confirm ahead of time, but they'd said they would be here by 9 am. Eventually I called and after being told they couldn't come and would have to be rescheduled, I insisted that this is no way to do business. They wanted to schedule a week away! Really?! Our house was ready and it was so much work and we were available TODAY!! They finally said they could come the following day. It was not great for us, but we conceded because really what else could we do now!!!! I asked for a call from Brent and the receptionist/sales clerk assured me she'd let him know. I called again. I left messages. HE NEVER CALLED. HE NEVER FOLLOWED UP. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a company. And now he's got a huge ad in the local magazine!!!! Don't do it. Go to the big hardware stores that do more installation and have more experience and can actually deliver what you signed a contract for. This guy is not worth your hard-earned money nor wasting your precious time and having to be available more days than you planned for. Badly done. Badly done. read more

This was our second experience with Brent's Carpet One in 7 years. Both due to appliance leaks in our kitchen ruining our existing downstairs floors. Fortunately, our latest experience this past June only ruined the carpet in our Living/Dining Room space. They worked closely with our Insurance Company, Farmers back in 2009, and still do. This time we pretty much covered the cost for hardwood flooring ourselves, opting not to go with carpeting in that space again. Now nearly our entire downstairs has hardwood flooring, minus the kitchen and spare bedroom. We worked closely with Don, searching for something that would match the existing Hickory throughout the rest of downstairs. And when we came in after work for one of our appointments, Ben, the owner, was also there with at least 10 samples trying to match our remnant piece as much as possible. He even commented that he wanted to keep us happy as long time clients. And after the installation this past Monday, 9/12/2016, we are extremely pleased with the end results. The crew worked late to finish up in one day, rather then two as had originally been estimated. Very professional and cordial. I didn't give a perfect 5 stars due to sometimes not hearing back from them timely enough, and the one rather tall and grumpy individual with the accent, who's name escapes me, we remember from 2009. He's still there during pre-closing hours. But I must admit, he has been showing a bit of rye humor of late. Our leak damage restorations are now complete, we're just waiting for our furniture to be returned this coming Friday! read more

We had to replace our old carpeting in a joined living room/dining room, and went to Brent's to check out carpet options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Once we got to a point that we were closer to a decision, the business owner stepped in and helped us. We placed a deposit and scheduled an install date, which was yesterday. The crew showed up and in a couple of hours had removed our old carpeting and installed our brand new floor coverings. No seams are visible, everything is properly tucked into the baseboards, the transition from carpet to out tiled kitchen was perfect. Wow! I can see why Brent's carpeting has been in business for more than 30 years. My mom just had her flooring replaced due to some water damage and was referred to them by her insurance company. Let me say that my mom is a person that truly believes in quality good customer service and not is not afraid to let you know if the job is not done to her satisfaction. We just had carpet installed in our daughter's condo. We had a certain budget in mind; David understood and first showed us what was available in the back, however nothing struck our fancy. We were then led to the area of the store that held samples for the style and price of carpet we were looking for. No pressure, no up-sell, just respect for our needs. We sealed the deal in 30 minutes with an install date. David even recommended getting the best pad with a more economical carpet. Great advice. The installers arrived as scheduled (even early, which was no problem at all) and the install was flawless. As we had also just installed new tile floors, I was very interested to see how the carpet and tile would match up and it was perfect. After the installers were completed someone came out to ensure that we were happy with the work. I got a very bad feeling from David. My husband and I came in looking for laminate or luxury vinyl to match as closely as possible to the laminate we already have in our living room. David interjected that we wouldn't be satisfied with the match and that we should get tile. I didn't want tile. He doesn't know me, he doesn't know my house, and is in no position to be making design choices for me. It was a blatant upselling for something I clearly didn't want. I also was not comfortable with having to put down a deposit just to have him come out to measure! Another company came out, measured and left samples after only a phone call. David helped us find a beautiful matching carpet for our slate and hardwood stairs and closets and the whole selection and transaction process was completed in less than 30 minutes. We chose Brent's because they have been around for many, many years. I did not bother shopping around. My wife and I wanted laminate flooring that looks like hard wood. We met with David who knew what we wanted and quickly showed us the products. He then came to our home with samples. We were sold! We signed the contract for a complete flooring job for our entire 2,100 square foot home. I was concerned about the installing though. I was concerned that the installers would not do a good job and would disappear once the job was done. David assured me these guys are pros. The installers showed up on time and knocked out all the tile and carpet in the home and laid down the new floor perfectly. The installers were very, very careful to mask off the walls, TV, closets, etc. They cleaned up every day. They were at all times kind, caring, professional, thorough, cared about the job they were doing, and cared that we were happy. Humberto and Cesar, the installers, were rock stars! We wound up using Brent's Carpet One twice within a very short time period! We finally re-did the flooring in our house, and then bought the home we had always admired down the street and did it all over again. We were very well treated by David and by the installation crews on both occasions. In both cases we replaced some carpet with hardwood flooring and the rest of the carpet with new carpet. The hardwood installation crew did an excellent and very professional job and the flooring itself is very nice. The new carpet in the new house was a very good deal, on sale, and is a huge upgrade and again the installation crew was pleasant and professional and did quality work. In addition, we had some issues with the timing at the end of the escrow period on our purchase and David was somehow able to accommodate a last minute change in closing date and therefore access with grace and a minimum of sweat (at least from the client's perspective). I highly recommend Brent's Carpet One in Newhall. It's probably not the least expensive option, but there are choices for a wide a range of budgets, and everyone is professional, easy to work with, and does a great job. read more

Truly deserving of 5 stars. We have been looking at carpet for a year. Literally, since last November, we have been shopping brands and prices, looking for the right carpet at the right price. When David at Brent's Carpet One showed us some high quality remnant that was the exact brand and color we wanted, and he had enough to complete our home, we thought it was too good to be true. After an in-home measurement and some negotiating, we booked the installation. Our best decision was choosing the memory foam 8-lbs 1/2" pad. It was much more expensive, but when we walk on our new carpet, it is worth every cent. The staircase came out amazing. They installed new bull nose on each step. The old ones were worn, sagging, broken and nails were pulling through. They screwed and glued the new ones to ensure long life. They pulled up the old tack boards and installed new ones. They screwed down loose boards that they found without me even asking. They were super cautious moving furniture. They inspected all furniture and walls before moving and pointed out any scratches or damage so we knew that it was there before they touched it. They replaced it all within an inch of where it was before. The crew was friendly and had great communication, and they worked non stop, with no lunch break from 8am to 7pm. Great job!!! read more

There workmen broke a window in my house while doing work. If they worked as hard on the job as they did trying not to pay for it, my rating would be higher. First they claimed it "just happened". Next they claimed it was a bird, but couldn't explain why it only broke the INSIDE pane of double paned glass. Then they claimed a defect in the old floor caused them to break my window and refused to pay full cost of repair. read more

David was very helpful in explaining the pros and cons of porcelain vs. vinyl and took time to show us all the products in our budget without trying to upsell. He came out the next week for measurements and explained the removal and installation process and worked with my wife and I to perform some of the demo to reduce the cost. The day of installation came and Humberto's Flooring crew arrived, confirmed the manufacturer and color of the vinyl we had selected, then proceeded to protect the house from dust and debris. Humberto also was onsite and we couldn't have asked for a better crew, they were polite, worked hard and fast, and did an excellent job. They finished our downstairs 1.5 days early which helped us get everything moved back into the house before the weekend. We were extremely happy with the whole process and will be going back for flooring in the future and requesting Humberto's to install. Initially I had great service when I purchased a box of hardwood flooring to finish a remodeling project. When I realized I had ordered the wrong color and needed to exchange it, the customer service went out the window. Tom said I would need to buy another $175 box of flooring, because the manufacturer would not exchange an opened box. I personally called the manufacturer to inquire. When I explained my circumstance they said "of course you can exchange it, you need to work with your retailer". I called Tom back, gave him the contact information and asked him to please help me get this taken care of. He then said he had to talk with his Sales Rep, that there would be a restocking fee and also a price increase because the prices vary with the stain finishes. I called a week later to check in and he said he was still waiting to hear from the Sales Rep. I called Tom a 3rd time, and had to ask him to please call the Sales Rep. He was noticeably bothered that I asked him to do this. I then went on google and figured out who the Sales Rep was. I called him myself, and guess what? He answered the phone, had no idea of the situation, and within 24 hours gave me the best customer service. I had to drive to Fontana to exchange it myself. By the way, I was not charged a restocking fee and there was no price increase. It was an even exchange. Tom was glad to take my money initially, but when I REALLY needed help, he gave me one obstacle after another. As I was driving to Fontana, he called to let me know that my exchange was approved... as if he had something to do with it. And then commented, "someone's been busy"... Bottom Line, Tom didn't care about helping me in the least, and was hoping I'd just order another box of flooring. He wasn't interested in providing great customer service. I had to figure it all out on my own. Update: I just read your response. I never threatened the manufacturer with bad reviews. I don't treat people that way. I made a simple phone call to get help and they were willing to go the extra mile, where Tom wasn't willing at all. The manufacturer actually cared. Freight costs were never even an issue, since I picked up the box (in Fontana) at will call with my first order. And I offered to pick up the exchange as well. Bottomline, the manufacturer was willing to work with me, in fact, I thanked Angie profusely and gave her a huge hug when I picked up the exchanged box. My experience with your store lacked the customer service you'd expect. The manufacturer did what your store should have done. read more

This is a mixed review: We enjoyed working with David and the guys that installed our new hardwood floor. They were hard-working and got the job done quickly. The issue came in the follow-up. After we paid-in-full, we noticed that two thresholds, one into a closet that was missing and the front door threshold that was not installed correctly, needed repair. It took 3 calls over the course of two weeks to get someone out. When the guy finally came to the house, he fixed the closet threshold but said that the front door was a different guy. We have yet to see anyone come out to repair it. We don't have time to make repeated calls for the repair so I will try to do it myself and think twice about recommending Brent's. read more
