It took us forever to find a really good flooring company. I mean we tried from anywhere from Costco, the flooring department stores, and contractor referrals.....and each time we were let down. Home renovation projects are very intimidating to start with in my previous encounters. Several years ago, we wanted to open a window on our sitting room wall, and I called two contractors to come for an estimate. One contractor gave me a quote of $15k and another gave $2.5k. They are 6 times different and really made me feel bad. I ended up finding a contractor who did it for me in one day and charged me $1k. Last month wife wanted to update the flooring for our entire house. This time I did some homework on flooring in Santa Clarita area and went with Frank with Natural Flooring who did some job for me 10 years ago. Frank was very knowledgeable and patient to explain the various options available and let us keep samples at home for us to feel with. We first wanted to go with engineering wood materials, but my wife changed mind and wanted to go with laminated floor materials the next week. He again came with various laminated floor samples to let us try. When we decided on materials, he gave us a very reasonable quote with every job item listed in the cost. When I requested to distribute speaker cables under the base board, he promised me that they will do this for free. The wiring ended up costing almost a worker a whole day. This review is long overdue. 2017 overdue. Bought a beautiful condo. Half the unit is this gorgeous dark hand scraped hard wood and the other half (stairs and bedrooms) are light carpet. Yuck. Desperately tried to find a match for this wood prior to the move in date but no one could match it. Over a year later still nothing. No previous contractor I had worked with could match! Not even the builder (Lennar) could remember! Finally I made the time and decided to request several quotes from my trusted Yelp! App. (Thank you Yelpers! ) Frank didn't even bother to write back to my quote request. He called me right away. Said he could match it and do a free estimate, bringing some floor samples as early as the next day. In the meantime, other vendors returned my inquiry; the initial quotes were double! Frank showed up on time and was very informative as well as professional and kind. Love his personality! He did his measurements so quick!! After some more calculations and questions, he had me assured he could do the job. His entire truck was full of samples! But I only needed to choose from the three options he brought me. His recommendations were spot on. From there a formal emailed quote based on our requested timeline and selected materials had to be considered. After careful thought of materials, we decided to start with the stairs only. There was a slight delay on the start date due to our work schedule, and then another delay with the manufacturer but Frank kept us in the loop and the timeline moved along quickly. Frank's team of 2 removed the carpet and installed new wood flooring with perfected bullnose on 2 stories of stairs in just 2 days total! Other vendors quoted 2 weeks turn around. One of the two days, my electricity went out mid saw! I'm so glad I was working from home that day (Frank's policy to be there) bc I was able to take care of it right away. I thk another crew would have left for the day, talking crap as they walked out...Not this crew! As I frantically checked all the circuit breakers and scrambled to get SoCal Edison on the phone, there was no sign of stress from the team whatsoever. They calmly took a smoke break outside while I was on hold and never even mentioned the incident actually. (Power was back on within 20 mins or so..they didn't trip it, I had forgotten to make the payment. Smh) They finished later that day. Frank magically appeared out of no where to do the final walk through. I was pretty impressed to see the results myself! I had been working all day from the 3rd floor and it seems my entire house had been transformed in a day with me in it! Amazing. Can't wait to do another project with them. Give Frank a call. A couple of months ago, I began selecting the floor for my home remodeling project. The vendor my installer works with only has a thin wear layer available for the engineering hardwood species and color I preferred. The whole sale store where I got my previous house floor does have what I want but they don't sell to retail customers like me. I thought I could give it a try to contact Natural Flooring who installed my previous house floor almost 10 years ago, but I was not sure if they were willing to do this as I had moved out of their service area, and they might not even remember me. Reluctantly, I sent an email to Frank Wu, the owner of Natural Flooring. He quickly replied. Not only he agreed to help me, but he also provided a list of local vendors with their contact info. He also asked detailed questions about my floor choice and made his suggestions which, I should say, was a pleasant surprise. In a series of email communications, Frank sent pictures that he had installed with the same floor I was interested in from his Yelp page (thank you Yelp). I continued bugging Frank on his opinions from overlapping stair noses, stair runner, trend style and, further, if I should keep the existing stair structure (designed for carpet stair) and how to better connect the new floor hardwood with the old stair structure. Eventually, I decided to replace the old stair structure with brand new one. Fortunately, Frank's ideas and suggestions helped me reach the right decision. I really appreciate Frank's generosity to go extra mile to help me. Frank's Natural Flooring did a fantastic job with high quality workmanship at my previous house floor installation. I had a water damage in a small area about 5 years after he installed my floor. I was told by other installers that it can not be fixed locally, therefore the whole floor has to be replaced due to the original engineering hardwood was obsoleted and new plunks from the same manufacture were not a 100% match of the old dimension. I spoke with Frank. He and his team were able to do some craftsmen type of work on the conjunction plunks so that the replacement was limited in the damaged area, not the whole floor. That saved me a lot of money, and time too. I looked at several flooring places in Santa Clarita and finally settled on natural flooring. Why? Because first, Frank came out to our house the day after I contacted him, super fast service. He showed us a huge selection of samples and convinced us to go with laminate instead of the LVP flooring we thought we wanted. In detail, he explained the differences in the two products and the prices and we decided to go with laminate which ultimately saved us money. The material is thicker and better quality than the LVP. He measured and quoted us that day. Then in two weeks the project began, we did not have to schedule the work far out like other places. We had our entire house done. His team removed our current floor of tile, laminate, and carpet, and moved the furniture for us, and did all of the install including the stairs, molding, and base boards. Thank you Frank and crew!!! You quoted us 7 days and finished in 4! You actually moved our furniture around for us and put it back! You put those felt feet on everything for us! We went through quite a few estimates from big companies to smaller independents. So many restrictions - some only moved only 5 pieces of furniture, some said you need to supply and install felt feet, some don't deal with the take up of material on top of subfloors after carpet is ripped out. Some don't deal with ANY furniture and prefer to have it moved out somehow before they do the work. We live in a 1 level condo and can't move furniture out and don't have a lot of space. We recently hired Frank from Natural Flooring to replace hideous carpets in 4 rooms of a home we just bought with affordable wood-like flooring and we couldn't be happier. I had contacted 4 different companies and Frank was the only one that called me back, and very promptly at that. We didn't know exactly what we wanted but Frank came to our house with samples and helped us pick a great wood laminate flooring. He gave us a quote, which was very reasonable so we hired him to do the job. We had other renovations to do before he could start the flooring (remove asbestos popcorn ceiling and paint) so we didn't know exactly how soon we'd be ready to have him do the flooring but Frank was very understanding and said we could let him know whenever we're ready and he'd just need about 3 days notice to start the work. And when the time came for the work to be done, we were in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and we were worried that Frank wouldn't be able to do the work. Our home was built in the 70s, so we had really old wooden flooring in our living room above the pink carpet. When the pink was installed, previous contractors just placed the carpet over the wooden flooring. During a pandemic it can be tricky doing home renovations because of safety precautions. Frank came wearing protective gear and gave me an immediate quote. Frank also brought plenty of samples for me to browse and choose from. So sweet! I gave him a few color options for ideas. We found a perfect style for my home, he even showed me a few baseboards that would fit the flooring. We had a few set backs from other home renovation plans and Frank was incredibly helpful and patient with timing. We decided to choose a light grey-beige laminate waterproof flooring.
