After the repair, we noticed leaks in several spots that were supposedly fixed. It seems like the job was rushed and not done properly.

I don't like leaving negative reviews but this is one of the worst places I've dealt with. My gutters were sagging and I had a mailer from them. When he came he told me it wouldn't be necessary to clean or repair gutters and said I should replace them. I'm a first time homeowner and listened. The day before he was supposed to come a woman called and canceled. She told me Muhammad would call back in a few days and he never did. I left voicemails with him and he never called back. I called another gutter place and they fixed the gutters and downspout and even cleaned them out to fix the problem. He told me that it was strange he asked for a deposit for gutters. Now I leave messages about getting it back and nobody calls back. One time the voicemail said he was out of the country. Very unprofessional and surprised they actually called to cancel. I called for an appointment about a new roof and siding. The woman I spoke to sent someone right away. The man who came showed me pictures of roofs and siding colors and textures and he gave me an estimate and I gave the deposit he asked for. He told me he would call about installation in a week. He never called. I called the number and a different woman answered and told me that the roof truck was being repaired to call back in a week. The next time I called I spoke to a different woman and she said they are waiting for supplies because there is a supply chain problem. It's 3 months now and nothing and they don't reply to me. Was supposed to put a roof early summer. Tons of excuses later and I still don't have my new roof. Very poor customer service. The two women I spoke to were incompetent. First excuse they gave for breaking the appointment was that they were having problems with the truck. I should have been tipped off they probably have no truck when guy came for the estimate in a tesla . Next excuse was he had an emergency and was out of country and they couldn't get in touch with him. I guess he's still not back because I still haven't heard from them. Don't waste time on them. My house is 5 years old and I recently started to get leak because I noticed water marks on my ceiling. He came to check and he looked at the damage on my ceiling and said he didn't need to look at the roof he could tell from the damage I need a new roof not a patch because I would get a major flood if I didn't take his advice. He showed me pictures of new roofs on his tablet and told me i need slate because I have an asphalt shingle roof now and he said slate is better. I made the mistake of believing him. He said he would call when ready to install. After two weeks he never called so I called them and a lady answered and told me the materials needed to be special ordered and they would call when ready. This went on for weeks. Finally I noticed more spots ony ceiling and had someone else look . They checked my roof and said I only need a repair. I keep calling them and leaving messages about this situation and the down payment and they didn't answer. Finally someone Maha told me because I don't want the new roof I cant get my down payment back because they ordered the materials and I didn't wait. Very rude and unprofessional read more

The shingles on my roof have been lifting up and a few started to blow away so I called them about a repair. Someone came who said that a repair would not correct the problem and that I would need a new roof. He showed me different roofs and we agreed on a deposit. He told me he would call for a date to install in a few days. A few weeks passed and he never called. I called and spoke to someone who said that they would call back in a day. He didn't. After about 9 weeks of nobody setting a date and all kinds of excuses about installing my problem got worse so I called another place who said I only need a repair. I called them again and told them I had it repaired and asked for my deposit back and the lady I spoke to Atyka said that she can't give it back because I used someone else. Seems to be a ripoff and only wants to install new roofs and then never gets back to you. Very frustrating and I don't think I will ever get deposit back. read more

Called several roofers to install a chimney cap. The estimates were very high considering the time needed/cost of part. Called/spoke to Kimmie. He asked for pictures I never sent due to frustration with others. He called three days later and said he was on the way. He arrived shortly later had the part and charged 1/2 the price of others. I was having solar panels installed on my roof so we decided to do the entire roof over to be on the safe side. We got 5 prices and this company was the second highest‍.. He was trying to sell me a lifetime roof but could not explain what a lifetime roof was compared to what a 30 year roof was. The lifetime roof was 40% more yet I don't know the difference being at my age I'll probably won't need a lifetime roof but would like an explanation for $22,000.. I found this A1A Roofing and Home Improvement via a local magazine. I was shopping around for an estimate to apply a new roof over existing, to install a solar attic fan, to add a new vinyl siding with 1" R-5 value insulation over an existing stucco wall, and to replace all old soffits, fascia boards, gutter trays and gutter guards. I had couple of contractors came over to give estimates. One contractor came very rush without climbing up to roof and gave a very unreasonable price. Second contractor came two separate days oral and written estimate is huge difference. Third contractor is from A1A Roofing and Home Improvement. He was willing to spend time to explain to me what to do and how to do to avoid future leak with an average price. Last contractor gave me super cheap price by repairing all soffits, fascia boards, gutter trays or gutter guard and unwilling to replace them. I had gutter trays repair and it didn't help instead it got worst. To me, repair is only good for a temporary solution. Of course, I ended up chose A1A Roofing and Home Improvement. He came again and explaining everything in more details with patience both cons and pros which made me learn a lot and I get to choose color/types of siding, architectural roofing shingles, insulation, and rubber. He also said, "Trust me! I like to spend time on each project with a high quality result." In addition, he suggested what features I should have when I shop for my solar attic fan. We spent more than 2 hours of talking before we sign a contract with a small down payment. At the same time, I have a strong feeling this is the right contractor I am looking for. The project finished couples day ago. It took him 4 days to finish. Day 1, he did my roof and installed the solar attic fan. When he finished the roof, he took some photos of my new roof. He also did some design to make my roof look better even the spot that I can't see by standing outside. Day 2 & 3, he did vinyl siding with insulation and shingles in front of my house. Those 2 days, I could see what his was doing. I went out and check his progress every now and then so that I can learn as well. As promised, he did really spend time and to get my project done in detail and precise. He is not the type of person just do as told. While is he working, he is also thinking how to get it better and willing to spend extra time to apply further protections to minimize future potential problems. Day 4, the last day, he replaced all gutters, gutter guards, soffits and fascia boards back of my house. To my surprised, he installed a good heavy duty of gutter guards instead of a normal quality one. He secured all my soffits will screws. He cleaned all vinyl siding follow by caulking my window frames and garage. I would definitely highly recommend this company. He is willing to spend lots of time to explain or even drawing diagram to ensure you are full understanding how he will get the job done. This is what it called a best customer service. He quotes an average price and not the cheapest, but you will guarantee a high quality of work return than quantity. This is also exactly what I am looking for. Now, I am waiting any type of storms (summer and winter) to prove his quality of work that was worth to pay. Job completed in June 2014. read more

They replaced my entire roof a couple of years ago (2010) due to storm damage. Very professional and courteous service from the minute I received an estimate. After the roof was completed, no mess left behind. The real test of whether the roof was quality or not was when super storm Sandy hit SI. My roof stayed intact with no damage at all. A couple of my neighbors on the other hand were not so fortunate (they suffered shingle and/or siding loss)! Come spring i noticed that my gutters were sagging where the squirrels broke in and roof shingles looked askew. No more nuts for those little buggers! I've found A1A on the internet, although the reviews were positive and detailed, but being a skeptic I wanted to get my own estimates before I decide. So I set up appointments with a few local contractors to appraise for a replacement roof along with a replacement skylight. Just as the other reviewers had described, Kimmy (the owner) was very patient and thorough when he explained the details of the work that was going to be done. Although his quote was about average, but I appreciate that he gave me the brands of materials that would be used, so I could know that I am getting quality materials instead some after-market nonsense stuff. Kimmy offered to closed up some of the vents on my roof that were not being used, so I can cut down of the chances of getting leaks in the future. He also went to help me buy the skylight and gave me the receipt to keep. He also helped me file for warranty, which he didn't have to, because I didn't know warranty existed (non of the other contractor told me about warranty). So after signing a contract and giving him a deposit. Kimmy got the ball rolling. That very next night, he set up a container to parked in front of my house. The day of installation, he showed up with his crew bright and early to get things done. He was there to monitor the whole process. Even though the temperature was scorching, I was amazed of their professionalism. Him and his crew were working extremely fast and they were totally in sync with one another.
