We took our car in for a state inspection. We were told that repairs that would have cost five thousand dollars were necessary. We had actually just had one of the recommended repairs performed by the dealership and knew it was perfect a few months ago. It had cost us roughly 3k. . We took the car down the block and passed inspection. None of the repairs that we were told were needed were actually needed. We are simple honest people. We believe we were targeted and will let the state know on Tuesday. Im a lawyer. My wife is a doctor. My wife did not want a bad review. She wanted to confront him in his shop and let him know he was beneath contempt. I wanted to make sure that other folks like us are not targeted as I believe we were. Been using Ahmed and his crew for years and they are excellent and provide very good service. I've had major and minor service done in timely manner and his knowledge is very good and takes to time to explain and show you if you do not understand. It shows as he has been recognized by the Governor Hochul for his commitment to helping mechanics starting out. That you do not see much when other mechanics tend to take advantage and rush you. His staff is the same way while they may rotate he does have a steady mechanic Rob that has really blossomed and his knowledge has grown during his tenure. Finally his value is still great as alot of customers in the area continue to refer friends and family to A 2 Z. Been here a few times. First few times the work was fine. HOWEVER, the last two two times I got my oil changed were AWFUL. First, the cap for the transmission fluid was taken off during the oil change and, unbeknownst to me, all of the transmission fluid leaked out of my car which has since affected the gas mileage significantly. I inquired with the owner/manager and he claimed the shop was not responsible for that. The most recent time, my dad brought my car in for another oil change. A few days after the oil change I went to use my A/C and my entire car smelled of gas. I popped my hood only to see that the oil cap was off and missing, that there was oil ALL OVER my engine and under my hood, and there was no oil left in the car. DO NOT GO HERE.
