I've used them over the last 18 months to work on my Chevy TrailBlazer. Mostly just routine maintenance, with the exception of chasing down an emissions control issue that was returning a Check Engine light. The proprietor is very friendly, the work has been performed to my satisfaction and the pricing is good. My main criticism is that they are horrible about communicating. "We'll call you when it is done." Never happens. As long as you are proactive and call them instead of waiting for a call, it's not an issue, but it's a bit annoying. read more

This is a good local shop for service, with friendly, honest people. I just went in just for a taillight bulb replacement, and the owner wouldn't even take money for it, saying "don't worry, it's just a small bulb." Customers and Local Businesses BEWARE!!! this guy (Jeff) is a real scumbag, he claims to be a master tech but constantly screws up his repairs and keeps billing the customer over and over for the same problem. This so called "Master Tech" was fired from Lexus of Glen Cove because of his poor repairs. He has tried many different business adventures in conjunction with his so called mechanic repairs (tire shop, customizing cars) which failed and is now selling scooters, what professional mechanic does this. He is extremely rude when questioned and ignorant both personally and professionally. Be very careful what you tell him, for it will be all over town before you even get home. I've been coming here for repairs on a 90's luxury coupe for a few years and they are consistent with quoting reasonable prices and providing quality repairs. They recently put out a quote for an unrelated followup repair for a very reasonable price and I know they drained some serious time into it - working over time to got it back to me same-day. I am so pleased to find such an honest and nice man. Jeff is very pleasant and more importantly he is also honest. You don't find that today. I went there to get the air conditioner checked on my car because it was running warm. Jeff told me he would take a look at it. I waited while he brought my car in. Within 2 minutes he came into the office and told me he had great news. He said my air conditioner was fine and there was no charge. He showed me the button I had unknowingly turned off. He turned the button on and the air conditioner was cold. A lot of people could have taken advantage of that but Jeff didn't. I will be taking my business to him from now on. Nothing makes me angrier than throwing my hard earned money away. I posted on Yahoo and I will say the same here so that anybody that is considering this place thinks again....I live in Sea Cliff and I went to Maximum because I heard that their prices were reasonable. The first time I went to get my car fixed I had a similar experience as a lot of people, they were nice and pleasant to deal with, but when my car didn't seem fixed and I came back for the same problem, the attitude changed dramatically. What's more is that that "reasonable price" got charged to me again and again in trying to fix the supposed problem, except that the problem wasn't getting fixed. I am a single mother and live on a tight budget as it is, Maximum Tuning not only put a huge hole in my pocket where I had to borrow money from family members in hopes of fixing my car, but I ultimately had to go elsewhere after refusing to take my car back up there to pay for soemething again that I had no guarantee of getting fixed. I do not recommend using them unless it's something simple that most men are capable of doing, like an oil change period!!! read more

i recently brought my 1999 LS 400 in for it's 90k service and had a tune up done, and the car is without a doubt driving the best it ever has in the 15000 miles that i've had it. there were a few small issues (i mean really little, most wouldn't even notice) that are now just about all gone completely. the car accelerates so smooth and consistent and even sounds a bit cleaner. jeff and his brother (i forget your name i'm sorry) are great guys who really seem to know what they're doing. they apparently took the liberty of replacing my rear license plate bracket with a maximum tuning one and i've decided to keep it there, i'm just so happy with the work that was done on my baby. definitely not going anywhere else now read more
