I researched prices charged for smog inspections in Culver City and went to AA Smogs. The attendants were polite, worked quickly, and charged me $40.00. I had an online coupon and was out the door in about 10 minutes. I went on a Wednesday at about 1:30. There was no wait. I was very pleased. read more

Rip off artists! The guy noticed that my truck hasn't been driven in a while and before he even plugs in the OBD reader, he says that it probably won't pass because the EVAP sensor is bad because it wasn't driven in a while. (my check engine light wasn't even lit- warning #1) Plugs in the sensor, and shows on the reader that there is an error on the EVAP sensor (how convenient... this guy knows what he's talking about or he does this scam all the time). Guy says if I pay him $150, he could pass my car, and not worry about fixing the sensor, which would cost around $500. (warning #2- sounds like a bargain or he's wants make some extra cash) I tell him I'll think about it and may come back later. Call my friend with a OBD reader, and check everything... and guess what? no errors. I go to another smog place, and pay the $60 for my check and pass with flying colors. Not even any extra payments to be sure I passed. STAY AWAY!!! or if you do, watch out for the EVAP sensor scam! read more

The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. I'll update this review once I get the car in for my first visit. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

My family was very friendly with not only a former US Attorney General, but the man who created the Bureau of Automotive Repair and who was in charge of the Consumer Protection/Consumer Fraud unit for the state of California as a Special Assistant Attorney General. Included in our family is a local former Deputy City Attorney. I am not wont to complain about businesses in general because of the time, burden and expense entailed in doing so, but the outrageously dishonest, unscrupulous and apparently downright criminal behavior of this enterprise needs to be brought to your attention. You should not refer business to it any longer via your website. It needs to be investigated by the local D.A. or C.A. and, perhaps, the State, and shut down should it persist in its business practices. This is to complain about AA SMOG TEST ONLY CENTER located at 10885 Venice Blvd. Unit A in Los Angeles, California with telephone (310) 839-4500 visited today on referral from your website with coupon linked thereto. The Owner/Manager of the enterprise at this location, Mr. Manuel Hernandez and his personnel, including but not limited to "Caesar," deliberately and intentionally caused significant damage to my vehicle in the course of purportedly doing a smog check. The foregoing conduct is illegal. You cannot do this to customers. You cannot take money for a test ... and 'mess' with their car. 'Add-on' repairs are illegal. This is my second time to AA Smog on Venice Blvd, in Palms (west LA). And once again, great service. There were about 4 cars ahead of me, so my wait was about an hour.
