I needed a smog check since I was registering my car from out of state and this spot was close to the AAA I was at and had great reviews, so I figured I'd stop be. It's also across the street from the DMV so that also makes it super convenient. There was only one guy working and one person waiting when I got there. He quickly greeted me and told me it would be about 15 minutes to do my smog check. A few other customers came in while I was waiting and he was so quick and efficient. The waiting area has a water fountain and a restroom. They also have sooo many magazines if you want to read one. My car probably took less than 15 minutes and it was $50 after the $10 off help check-in offer. Great spot! Highly recommend. read more

This last time, they were very rude, did not provide the discount quoted, and acted like I should thank him for his service. I sorry the original owner sold his wonderful Culver City Business to a unthankful, impolite person. I will never return. No refund was provided. I went to another agent (next door) and the service was friendly and complete. The vehicle had 2000 miles on it since the last smog (a couple years ago) done at your shop. I tried to take my 1989 VW van here at 10:30 am on a Monday. The employee working there said my van was too old. I pointed out a sign that had a rate for vans from 1976-1995. He then changed his story to it would take too long to smog my van (there were no other vehicles in the parking lot). Eventually he agreed to do the smog check, but he was super angry about it. I was uncomfortable with him, performing the service with his attitude, so I left. I would not recommend rocket smog to anyone. ***Update*** the technician was in such a huff, he did not re-latch the lid on my engine compartment. My van is a rear engine, and this is extremely dangerous. If the lid were to come off something could easily fall into the motor and cause damage or start a fire read more

I did some googling, please see attached picture. You drove my car from the parking lot into the slot to be tested. Did you see my check engine light on? I would imagine you did, since you started the car, drove it etc. Had I known an engine light on is an automatic fail, I wouldn't have had it tested. I would've went to the mechanic first. I think you knew my car would fail from seeing the light and still charged me. If you did notice and didn't tell me up front before testing, you hustled me, and I think that's a bad business practice and comes across as dishonest. read more

Rcoket Smog is fast and reliable. If your car does not pass the first time, they will try again at no charge. My car did pass on the first try, but I saw another customer crossing her fingers hoping the second try would get it done. The area they work in is clean and the waiting area is also clean and they have bathrooms, an imperative for me. We did not have to wait long and I think I paid about 40$ with a coupon. Don't waste your time coming over to this smog even though it's across the street from the DMV , I brought my car over last week and it did not passed smog, they still charged me $51.75 makes no sense For passing smog is $60 FYI they charge $21.75 for them to retest. Disappointed, "RETEST" smog scheme do not recommend. Meaning you pay TWICE WITHOUT NOTICE for the same service, so the actual value is $71.75 to $90.00. After contesting the dishonesty to Fade he gave me a $10.00 discount and asked me to check the battery fast, as he had previously detected the light on the dashboard and on the handheld, he himself drove my car to the test. And when I returned, he asked me to walk another 200miles and I warned that I would exceed my deadline at the DMV.
