When I arrived, there was no one waiting, I was greeted by Manny who quoted me a price, but when I mentioned the yelp check-in coupon offer the lower amount. The check took minutes and Manny even found a problem that my mechanic had missed the last time I went to visit (some hose had been left disconnected), and solved it. NEW staff is HORRIBLE **** I came to AA in December to do my smog check and presented a coupon for the $40 smog from YELP that I showed the mechanic on my phone. I was happy to come to your facility because you had the best price in town. When I got there I was immediately upset because the guy didn't tell me my car would fail because the "check engine" light was on. He could have saved me time and money if he pointed it out right away. Instead he ran my smog and informed me I would have to pay extra $10 for the retest since I used the coupon. I took the car to the dealer who found nothing wrong and turned the light off. I had to have the light reset 4 times before it stayed off long enough to get back to AA, so it took me 2 months to return. When I returned to AA I was told my engine was still programming and I had to drive it more. So I came back the next day and it was still programming. The third day I was finally set and they did the final smog. I was incredibly disappointed when Alejandro (who had already complained daily about having to check my engine and threatened to charge me extra) told me he was charging me the full $50 and would not allow me to use the YELP coupon I presented on my phone. I had presented the coupon on my phone the first time, and it was no problem. He told me i could drive home and print it out then come back. What a jerk! To add insult to injury, as soon as Cesar saw my "Human Rights Campaign" debit card, he realized I was a gay man and began to be even more rude and abusive than he had in the past. He made a disgusted face and ignored me, saying less than 10 words to me from that point forward. He even let me sit in the waiting room after the test was finished for an extra 15 min because he couldn't be bothered to talk to me and let me know my test was done. I have never been discriminated against, and insulted like this in my entire life! The worst part is that he was so clear in his attitude and behaviors; I could not help but get the point that he was anti-gay. Furthermore, HE LEFT MY CAR RUNNING ON THE BATTERY IN THE PARKING LOT WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION THE WHOLE TIME! Not only did he run down my battery with the radio on, but he left my car subject to THEFT while I had no idea he had completed the test. This all comes from his HOMOPHOBIC attitude and DISCRIMINATORY practices. You have a real problem on your hands with this employee. Not only does he have no social skills, but he is rude and a bigot. At this point I do not feel that I will ever return again, nor recommend friends or family. In the age of Yelp, Twitter, BBB, and Facebook, experiences like this are easily shared publicly, so I urge you to make it right by a loyal customer. I am really upset at the fact that your team has gouged me $100 for a $40 smog check, especially when I have continued to be a loyal customer returning to AA for all my smogs. One of the guys, the smaller of the two, was *VERY RUDE* and shooed me out of the place because I had tried to find a better priced shop earlier in the day. That guy can can barely explain what they charge for their services and it is not a language barrier- just very poor communication skills. The facilities are unhealthy; the waiting area with TV is next to where they smog so you inhale whatever is coming out of the cars. Fast, and honest. I brought in a car that had just come from the mechanic with electrical problems, and the crew noticed the jumper cables and asked. Turns out you can't successful smog a car unless the computer has been running for at least 150 miles since the last time the power went out. They pointed this out to be *before* taking my money, so I left and came back a week later. They could have taken my money and failed me (I've been other places that have done similar things). I went here after reading the Yelp reviews and am very pleased with my experience. I got there a little after 5pm and they were pretty busy (most likely the after-work crowd). I ended up waiting a bit before they got to my car, but that was okay with me since I was in no hurry. They were very fast/efficient with their service and very friendly and helpful when discussing my car. I have 2 times experience in their shop. It was bad manner and non professional experience. The first time is 1 year ago. The test was failed. The only reason is the check engine light and THEIR OBD SCANNER CANNOT CONNECT TO THE CAR. They know the check engine light will cause failure before testing, but didn't tell me about this until the test was done. They charged me 40 dollars. I went to a dealer, they checked and it was not a problem. After several starts, the check engine light went off. I came back to this shop to ask them to do again. They refused with very bad manner. They insisted to perform it in the next day. It was nothing. I told them I had to transfer the title on that day due to the expiring of title. Then they said that if it passed they will only char additional $10 otherwise they charge full price another time. Of cause, it passed. The second time is today. I go there for smog check. AGAIN, THE SCANNER CANNOT CONNECT TO MY 2006 CAR. This is the only reason for failure. They charged me $40. I have my $30 scanner in the car, so I just show them that I can connect to the car successfully. However, they say nothing and just told me to come back tomorrow with bad attitude. It is not only attitude problem but non professional also. I tell them I won't come back again. I did the smog check in the other shop immediately, and it passed. read more

A Terrible Place This test station reset my computer and told me that my car was not ready. I work on my car by myself. I certainly know how OBD2 system (the computer in the car) works. The last time i disconnect the battery was half a year from now. My car is perfect for sure. It is just a joke to say that car is not ready. So the only way to work with them is to have your OBD2 scanner with you and show them the little green light when you walk in.
