First I will commend the individual that did the leak repair on my outside water hose Bib that was underneath the vinyl siding in the rain, I can't nor will complain about that. With that said I will have to take issue with the fact that there is no breakdown of the invoice that was left for the job completion. I understand that the job took 2 hours @ $160.00 an hour... but was reported to me that the technician left my house the job site twice to go get parts for the job and mind you my house is 0.03 miles for the job warehouse. So $320.00 in labor and another $80 in parts? For a hose Bib? And two couplings? But to my surprise looking up the job it says the average cost can be between $150 to $450 to remove and replace, so I guess my only real issue of concern is that this company while doing good work doesn't give you a good invoice breakdown. And then leaving the job work site a little messy! And then I will now need to hire a siding person to repair the siding. In closing I really think it's a good idea to let your clients know exactly what they are paying for and if you leave to job for any reason to go get any and all extra parts it should not be at their expense. read more

We called AAA the other day we were set up for an appointment today Sid arrived to see what was going on with our shower immediately he diagnosed the problem and fixed it very professional very quick and knowledgeable. Paul and coworker arrived just after noon and had my 15 year old Nortz tankless water heater working in about 30 minutes. Here's what I've been working on today. My YELP review of AAA-1Paul's Plumbing. ============================ We've used Paul's plumbing on two occasions, most recently to cap off a gas line that was needed for our old gas dryer that we were due to replace with a new electric dryer. We should have recalled how expensive AAA-1 was the first time we used them, BEFORE calling them back to do this simple, 10-minute job. They did accomplish the deed, but in 15 - 20 minutes, with most of that time being spent with both plumbers going back and forth to/from their truck, AND turning off the gas at the propane tank, which soon after Mr. Paul discovered was unnecessary as there is a cut-off valve on the pipe coming up behind the dryer space, so all they really needed to do was turn off that cut-off valve, and then screw on the brass cap. EZ, PZ, right? Then the bad news came, that'll be $210!!! Cha-Ching!!! My wife was visibly shaken by the amount, but at that point, what can one do? I am NOT saying Paul's Plumbing doesn't get the job done, but $210 (= $800/hour!) for this job seems ludicrously over the top. His last bill produced the same reaction when Paul said $1,540, which seemed like the amount he decided he needed that day to cover his car payment or his mortgage note (or both?). Now that was just the labor cost for two men working, we had supplied all of the parts they installed! Let's see $1,540 divided by 2 people is $770 each for an eight hour day (as if they actually worked for 8 hours) which equals $96.25/hour each! Assuming Mr. Paul gets the larger piece of any and all job money, and assuming he pays his worker at the MOST no more than $50/hour = $400 for him, Mr. Paul made a cool $1,140 (or $142.50/hour)! Not too shabby! I guess he's making hay while he can, before he retires? Oh yeah, one other thing. As they'd turned off the gas at the tank (to their credit, they did turn it on again before they left), but our water heater had already lost its gas pilot light, so, guess who had a nice cold shower the next morning? It wasn't Paul!!! I guess he just didn't think...about that. Lucky for us we had recently installed an electric induction stove, NOT GAS, or those pilots would have been off too! When I called about the pilot light, I mentioned to C****, who was one of technicians here that morning, that I thought the price was way out of line, he responded with, "Well, we had to come all the way from Fort Walton Beach!" Which was BS as I know we were their first stop that early morning, and were on their way to FWB after our job was finished. And then I called our propane company (Suburban) to find out they would have charged us a $95 trip charge, plus the cost of a brass cap (I'm guessing less than $10 from nearby Lowes?). THAT PRICE SEEMS A LOT MORE FAIR, don't you think? So, the bottom line for hiring Paul's Plumbing is you need to get an estimate IN WRITING before the job starts, AND/OR make sure you can get a hefty home equity loan to pay for their work. read more

OOOOOK, whereas the summer of 2017 I was singing the praises of Jeff at AAA-1, I have to dial that back. Maybe my great review has launched their business to a whole new level, but we had a hot water heater go down and when I called AAA they told me they'd see if they could come out, but would have to call me back. They did indeed call me back, but they couldn't get out for 2 days. Frustrating. But I did find a NEW "go to plumber" - Corky's Plumbing. Came out same day. Practically the same hour and while it wasn't fixed on the first visit, he was easy to get ahold of and quick to come back until my problem was resolved. And it was only $85. As a long-distance landlord and military wife, I'm always looking for the best. read more

Horrible experience with AAA-1 Paul's Plumbing today. We were very thorough in getting a quote before agreeing to have the work done and comparing prices. We were quoted between $800.00 and $1000.00. When they finished the work we were told $1280.00. When we questioned this the plumber said, best I can do is $1040.00, still over the top of the quote we were told. The plumber claimed to not know the quote we had been given. We were present during the work and at no time was an issue or price change discussed. They left without showing us the work and the job needed to be completed, we had no water pressure. We had to call, request them to return, and complete the work. Additionally, when they began to leave they said, oh do you want the shower head you had on your shower, (the one we had picked out and purchased nothing to do with them), we were stunned, and said yes we do! They had put it in their truck! The work had nothing to do with the shower head or faucets. We were speechless, to say the least with this experience. I would not recommend this business. read more

Had to call triple A plumbing to fun a water line from my new refrigerator. The old line was cut loose by the same plumbers when the ice maker in my old refrigerator flooded my floors. My new refrigerator came with a plumber and new stainless steel hook up, but because the line was cut and a part was missing they were unable to complete the hook up. Triple A plumbers arrived at 9 am and completed the hook up in exactly 1 hour. They did not have to drill any holes thru cabinets just run the line to the water supply. For their 1 hour service I was handed a bill for $488.00. Which is more than half of my SS check. How can they get away with such ridiculous prices! If getting service from this company I would demand a set price for a 1 hour service call for easy work . They even took the hook up pack that came with the refrigerator saying they were going to give me a $10.00 credit n the bill. That never appeared on their ridiculous bill. read more

Paul's was described to me as expensive but the best. He is a professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him. After spending $1300 and 3 service calls on another plumber, Paul quickly diagnosed my problem in my rental house and offered interim fix. And provided options for an more expensive permanent fix. When I first called to schedule the service call, he got on the phone and talked me for 10 minutes about the history and potential problem. And then he called me from the house and explained in-depth the problem and the potential courses of action. I highly recommend him. read more

I had a tree root clogging up a pipe which was causing a very undesirable back up in my bathtub . I was told by another plumber whos cutter wasn't enough to handle it to call AAA-1 Pauls Plumbing.I called Thursday too late in the day but explained if they could send someone Friday as early as possible due to my mid- day work schedule that would be great. A plumber named Jan came over at 9:45 Friday morning, he had a pleasant demeanor ,the equipment was enough to cut and knocked out the problem in a matter of a few minutes. He was hired to fix a leak and tried to collect his check while the pipe was actually still slightly leaking. He said "it's an old pipe, it's going to leak. He was there less than 1 hr, the bill was over $400. He tried to convince everyone to hurry up and put cement over the pipe. read more

What I love is they are honest and won't ask for your first born to pay for their service. This company should be your go too! Our hot water heater went out the evening before so they were able to work us into their schedule during an early evening call (extremely customer service oriented). Upon arrival at our home troubleshot the problem to a faulty thermocouple in less than 5 minutes. They didn't have the exact replacement part on hand in their service vehicle, but the technician (actually the owner of this business) stated he had a suitable part that would work which took a little bit of time to into our water heater's burner assembly. Very satisfied with their service as the end result saved us $550.00 as I was considering changing out the hot water heater myself (I swapped one out myself years ago when I lived in California which started leaking after the Northridge Earthquake). read more

Always scary when you move to a new town and have to find new everything. I was referred to AAA-1 Paul's Plumbing and have found my plumber for as long as I live here. The experience was great from Sue who answered the phone to both Paul and Jeff who have both been here. They have been professional, courteous, quick and reasonably priced. We have had them out three times for differing things and one was an emergency, according to my mom, on Labor Day weekend, which it was not really an emergency, just an emergency in her eyes and they came out and installed her faucets pleasantly even though it could have quite possibly interrupted their holiday weekend festivities. Worst customer service. I contacted them due to their "good" reviews. I'm guessing they used to be good but now don't care about customers. Had a $1390 bill to resolve a few plumbing issues (leaks, change out shower fixtures, refrigerator line). We were never provided an estimate and were shocked at how high the bill was but the work had already been performed and they supposedly took care of everything so we just didn't bother complaining and paid for it. A leak was found in the kitchen sink which was supposed to be addressed so we called them and asked if they could take care of it. Paul's plumbing had a manager call us and for 30 minutes proceeded to raise his voice over the phone, blame us and talk about everything but fixing the problem. We had to cut them off since they were pretty much just yelling at us. It likely would taken one of their plumbers 5-10 minutes to fix the little leak under kitchen sink... Instead they chose to spend 30 minutes trying to lose a customer. I will go with Parrett's plumbing or Mr Rooter next time. Save yourself the trouble read more

I called Paul's plumbing to do some work in my condo. I just wanted to have them give me an estimate, I told him I did not get off work until after 5. I was told I would have to pay a overtime fee. I could arrange for someone to be here during the day to do the work but I wanted to be there to let them know what I needed. I made a comment about the 5 o'clock time and their response everyone gets off at 5 True, but I work for a CPA and during the season we work nights and weekends to accommodate the majority. I don't understand why others cannot, I was not asking him to do the work at night just give me an estimate. read more

We highly recommend Paul for your plumbing issues. Upon our call, he came to our home, and unfortunately it was raining. He assessed the situation as our hot water heater was under the house, and he said he would come back the next day. He came out and fixed the issue in no time. I was a little skeptical calling around looking for plumbers and quotes because 1) the Better business bureau (BBB) didn't have much to offer as a list of plumbers servicing the Fort Walton area 2) there were hardly any reviews and the ones there were didn't match between yelp, google, and BBB 3) I'm a woman and didn't want to be taken advantage of and lastly 4) my knowledge of plumbing is limited. My kitchen sink has been clogged and after trying a plunger, a snake (15footer), declogger, and checking the p trap and disposal I was desperate to get serviced before the weekend. I was having a tough time because the places I called either wouldn't answer/return my calls, were booked up until Monday, their quotes were outrageous, or they would charge an after hour service fee. Thankfully, I called this company explained my predicament and was told a technician could come today! I was told about the hour rate and since I'm currently tight on cash I prayed it wouldn't go passed an hour. Well about an hour later I saw the technician pull into my drive and after a quick introduction he went right to work. He explained what the problem was and his plan of action. I personally think he was considerate with the time and was out of here in 20/25 minutes! I don't think this affected his quality of service either because he even checked his work over. I agree with the 1 stars. I was a machinest before serving 22years in the Air Force as a a implant and reconstrcutive surgery tech. The 1st job I had done was cleaning out the main sewage line from roof to street at a fair price. Those guys don't deserve my rating. I'll give them a four for doing their job right. Two days later I was scheduled to have leaks in my one bathroom. This new guy didn't have the proper parts and lied about taking the system apart completely to the valve to replce such part. It slowed down the faucet leak while I took a shower but not completlely. Plus the hot water shower head would turn on its own. I called them back and spoke with Paul. He fixed the hot water handle but would do nothing about the shower head and faucet problem because it was out of warranty. I don't know how something goes out of warranty if the part was never replaced. Paul also left a voice mail saying it had been 1 year since they had been at my home. Wrong it was less than 6 months That second job cost me $155./ I just waNT A REFUND for negligent serve and parts and service his employee didn't perform properly. By the way he fired that employee because he said he was doing drugs and not feeling well. He probably was dying too get his fix on when he was working at my place. Paul says he's not a liar but he is. I don't hate people or dislike them. I just dislike their actions but never hold a grudge. I had the job done by a competent company.
