10 years I've been a member. I needed a tow today, 2.5 hours later they show up. Then they say they can't tow my truck because something is in the back. There were a couple things, each over 100 pounds and lower than the side bed. They wanted me to unload thousands of dollars of stuff on the side of the road or they wouldn't tow me. Mind you, they've towed this truck before, with everything in the back just like today. They said they wouldn't do it and left me on the side of the road. Didn't offer to help me get somewhere for water while I had to find someone else to tow me. AAA abandoned me on the side of the road and I had to pay out of pocket for my tow of 5 miles. Will they leave you on the side of the road like me, it's a question you need to ask yourself. I'd give zero starts if it allowed. read more

We use AAA for our kids while they are away at school for house rental insurance and additional car insurance. The kids have used AAA several times for dead batteries and flats. It really is inexpensive and is peace of mind knowing the kids can call for assistance regarding the car if something happens while they are away from home. AAA not only provides insurance they also help with road trips and travel arrangements. I bought a travel book for my kids for their upcoming trip to Thailand. Of course I got a discount since we're members. My friend is in the process of swapping insurance companies and she has an appointment with them in the morning. I called the Allen office to get travel information because I was planning a road trip. The lady that answered the phone was not friendly, it seemed as if she was annoyed. She asked me if I wanted the Allen Office on Stacy? After I told her the reason I was calling she transferred me to someone else, I left a message. And of course my phone call was not returned. That was three weeks ago. I called the Plano office. The lady that answered the phone was very friendly and was more than happy to help me. I hate I cannot remember her name. I received the information I needed for my road trip from her. Thank you. I will never call the Allen office again. I will communicate with the Plano office only, I will tell my family and friends to avoid the Allen office. read more

I have been a member for 12 years never having ti file a claim, until now. It has been a f**king nightmare! Got my claimed filed, but after that no follow up. You can only leave messages because no one answers the phone, then no o e returns your call. I went to member services and wS told, the could not help me contact my claims adjuster because they had the same numbers I had...WTF!!!! I passionately hate AAA. My husband and I went in to this location today to get an IDP. While we were there we asked to update my husbands payment information for his account, as he had gotten a new card. My husband has had a premier account with me added on for 4 years and for whatever reason (which they could not explain) his membership was downgraded to basic and I had been kicked off of his account. They wouldn't look into it further, after the lady went to the back to see what was going on, the only thing she came back with was they could cancel my husbands membership, open a new membership under me, and add him as an added person. They said there was no way to add me back into his account, they could only either upgrade him and I wouldn't have coverage with his plan anymore, or cancel as explained above. At this point the other lady, who was wonderful and super helpful, had wrapped up our IDPs so we left and called AAA customer service. The customer service rep was able to add me back on, upgrade us, and waive the premium 7 day hold since there was an issue with their system that downgraded us, and it took a total of 7 minutes on the phone. So it was very frustrating to know that the lady at this location lied to us and it seemed like she just wanted to get a new account started instead of actually helping us solve this problem. read more

Never trust any tow truck sent by AAA. Their tow truck did $3,000 damage to my car and they deny any claim saying it wasn't their fault even though I saw them damage my car. Poor customer service. We made a deposit in the summer of 2017 for our friends wedding trip and it took several weeks for them to finally take the deposit. I was surprised by the poor service provided to my daughter when she had a flat tire on the highway today. The person called by AAA to help her did not bother to look at the tire and replace it with the spare, he just put her car on a tow truck. Part of the tow was covered and she had to pay for the rest of it. When I called AAA to ask about the service, a supervisor named Christina gave me answers that indicated that she did not care about the problem nor about providding good service. I've been a AAA Member for 17-years. As a single senior, I depend on the roadside service to give me peace of mind when I'm on the road. I wouldn't be without my membership and often recommend it to friends. I also have an insurance policy with AAA. Over the years, I've also ordered city and state maps to help me with travel plans as well as to acclimate myself to new communities after a move. As a relatively new McKinney resident, I called the Allen office today to request that several Collin County street/city and state maps be mailed to me, a service I've been accustomed to over these past 17 years as I've relocated to five states. Imagine my surprise when I received a call from "Sue" who informed me that, "...we don't typically mail maps to members who live close to an office. We prefer they come in to pick them up." When I told her that I have been receiving maps in the mail for years, and that I am a senior who doesn't drive much, she didn't budge. "We don't typically mail maps when a member lives nearby," she repeated. Well, to whoever owns/manages the Allen office, I don't "typically" go online and post negative one-star reviews, but as a longtime paying customer, this complete lack of customer service has left a very poor taste in my mouth. read more
