I have been a AAA member for over 15 years. up until now, they have provide good customer service. However, i noticed that i had a slow leak on one of my tires in my 2021 RDX. I was able to make it home and thought i would just call AAA to come and change my tire from the comfort of my home. I was very excited bout this because it was storming outside was. Brett, the technician arrived only to tell me he did not know how to remove the tire from the undercarriage. i pulled up a YouTube video for him and it did not help. He was just lazy. He said "i can fill it up with air so you can take it to a tire shop". i am looking at him in disbelief at this point. i took the car to American Tire in Brentwood "the ROCK". They informed me that all of the tools he needed to release the tire from the undercarriage was in a compartment that he was in when he realized he did not want to do the extra work. Don't bother with their DMV service. They don't know what they are doing. A few weeks ago I went to get a travel handicap placard for my mom. They don't know what it is. I go to DMV Concord and it is just a temporary placard. My mom did not have to go with me. Today Saturday 6/4 I went to AAA to get a handicap placard for my boyfriend that had knee replacement surgery on Wednesday. The man at the front asked if he was in the car. No he is home he just had surgery. He said he must be here. I said my mom didn't have to go with me to DMV. He said "we're not DMV". Smart add. I snatched the paperwork out of his hand and told him they are useless. Their DMV service is useless if you can't get what you need. Now we have 2 options - load the patient into the vehicle to go to AAA so we have a placard to go to physical therapy next week or drive to DMV in Concord. Why does AAA even bother to try and do DMV services when they don't know what they are doing. read more

My tags were stolen from my vehicle. I went to DMV but the line was out the door, literally. I recalled that my AAA membership included DMV services. I was dropped off in front by my husband. He went to park the car, he was walking in and I was already done with the new tags. That is how fast the service is was. Very impressive. I loved this perk! I would give this place zero stars for the fact that you can have such a large beard that a mask can't fully keep your face covered but if I, a paying AAA member don't wear a mask I am asked to stay outside like a dog while you talk to me in a doorway with my child. The point of my visit at AAA, was for my dad to simply get register tags which is an easy process since he already paid his fees. I went online at 11am and was told the wait time was 3 hrs once, I signed up for the hold que for my spot. Upon arriving, it has taken more than 3 hours for a simple process. This location is extremely slow and it seems like they don't have a lot of workers because every time I check my spot in line, the number has not moved at all. They need to work on being more efficient for services and for quick simple services like getting tags it needs to be a get in and get out situation. I have been waiting 6 hours for 1 simple thing. If you're doing a simple dmv transaction it's fine, but if there are any special circumstances like mine, just purchased a diesel vehicle over 15,000 grvw making it a smog exempt vehicle save your time and just go to dmv. Employees here are very uninformed when it comes to dmv procedure. I spent an hour and a half waiting, only to be told that they cannot do these kind of transfers. What am i paying for? Went to the Antioch location today for a simple registration renewal. Was advised by the rude woman at the check-in desk that the wait was over 1 hour 45 minutes!! To take a simple payment?? I honestly cannot understand such an exaggerated wait time. She then said I could use self-service kiosk & asked for my registration slip. I handed it to her & she said, "Oh, no you can't, you need the whole form, and there's a fee". I told her nope, not paying a fee when you're getting my immediate payment! She just shrugged, smirked & very sarcastically said, "Have a great day". And, NO, I didn't misinterpret the sarcasm! We've been with CSAA for 30+ years... Terrible experience EVER! My husband LaMarr, went in and was told it will be a 2 hr waiting time. Sure no problem, but then was told there's 4 people ahead of you and there's only 1 window open. Your waiting time will be another said 2hrs. This was not an intended ALL day EVENT. I wish they would've told me before I waited I would've went elsewhere. Horrible experience. Rates keep going up and customer service seems to be heading down. Was there for over 45 minutes today to simply make a payment on my insurance and didn't move one space in line the entire time. I finally gave up and left. If you want me to continue giving you my money maybe try a little harder to make the experience easier and quicker. Tried to call Friday about booking flights, nobody answered. Came in on Saturday, the only travel agent went home sick, came back Monday after flight prices already increased by $100, website clearly states travel assistance available till 5:00, I arrived at 3:30 and guess what? She can't see me again. I'm sooooo not thrilled with this office. In the 28 years I've had AAA for all of my insurance and all, I've never had this experience. Ever. Fast forward a year. We just tried going through them for a trip for 3 to Mumbai, goa and Thailand. I called the number provided and left a message regarding making an appointment if possible, nobody called back. We went in and waited only to find out the person there at the moment didn't handle flights but she left our name and number for someone to call us but nobody ever did. We booked it ourselves. The travel department is clearly not capable of doing anything except Disneyland tickets. The customer service in the travel agent department is non existent. read more

I've never had a more unprofessional and disappointing experience than I'm currently having to deal with, with Glen. I called and got an auto and roadside quote with Glen over the phone and let him know that I'd try to come in a few days later to get started. I was able to find a cheaper auto insurance rate with another company but I still wanted the towing and DMV services with AAA so I stopped by the Concord location to pay my registration and get my tags. After getting everything set up I check my email tonight and see that the woman that helped me out at the Concord location said that Glen reversed my transaction and deleted my debit card information off their site. Cancelling my membership! Not only did I not authorize this cancellation of my roadside membership but I haven't spoke to Glen at all since getting my membership for him to take it upon himself to cancel my membership, I'm pissed. The fact that someone so petty and childish can be trusted by AAA to have access to important information like full names, ID numbers, addresses and license plate numbers is unsettling. This is the definition of poor service and immaturity. If I end up needing a tow within the time it takes me to get my services reactivated due to this situation, Lord help me. I did not take time out of my day and pay my hard earned money to have some little boy throw a tantrum and sabotage services that I paid for. BEWARE OF GLEN! The AAA Antioch branch offers a false sense of security. Last year, my car was hit with over $2,000 worth of damage, while it was parked (stationary) in the parking lot right in front of the AAA building. I was inside the building and did not witness the incident. I was, however, assured by the employees of this branch that I would be compensated for the deductible I would have to pay, since the cameras of the building had captured the whole hit-and-run incident on video. Weeks later, I was told by my claims adjuster that she had not yet received the video as part of my claim. I returned to this AAA branch and was told that they didn't have the means to send the video to the adjuster, as this was done by a 3rd party (I later found out it was the Manager of Security Programs at AAA Walnut Creek), and that it would take some time. After yet more weeks, I was finally informed by my adjuster that the video was either lost or could not be found by the Security Programs manager. With the contact information given to me by the adjuster at this time, I called the Security Programs Manager, and was coldly told that he couldn't do anything for me, as the videos are automatically deleted after 60 days. This time had not yet elapsed, but he was still adamant that he could not find the video. I went back to AAA Antioch, and to my surprise, the supervisor was extremely defensive over how I obtained the contact information of the 3rd party who was responsible for handling the video. I also found out that this supervisor, along with other employees at AAA Antioch had seen the video and didn't write down any information of the offending vehicle that would have helped in the police report I had filed, especially since AAA Antioch would not let me see the video in the first place. Ultimately, I was told that nothing else could be done, especially with the video gone. I was left with the $500 bill and a loss in confidence I once had for AAA, after more than 15 years of being a member. The negligence and indifference of the AAA employees I interacted with at the time is unacceptable. Due to the suspicious nature of how my claim was handled at the management level, and how they seemed to purposefully drag out the process, I even suspected that there was a concerted effort to protect whoever caused the damage to my primary means of transportation. This branch in particular, had the gall to tell me that the cameras facing the parking lot are there to 'protect our customers', which I must say, is a bold lie. I strongly urge anyone thinking about doing business with this branch and/or organization to consider other options first. read more

Don't waste your money paying for memberships that AAA can't provide. My husband & I have been AAA policy holders for over 4 years and purchased their yearly membership. Today, we needed a tow for his motorcycle. I called for this service at 1:30pm & received several texts messages updating us the time of arrival of the tow truck driver. The last text we received said the tow truck was 5 minutes away. Then we get a call last minute saying they couldn't locate the tow truck and that we had to wait another hour. Then they called us back after another hour wait just to tell us they had no tow truck driver available. We had been dealing with this issue from 1:30pm-6:30pm waiting for a tow truck driver that never arrived. My husband had to walk his motorcycle home. I can't believe we pay for services that are not available to the clients, BUT they sure charge YOUR CC on time! read more

Not specific to this office, but AAA in general.... They left us stranded on the side of Vasco last night with a blown out tire because no trucks were available. We had to call for a non-AAA tow and then we had to get towed home because it was too dangerous to change the tire at that location. Called the next morning for service and they took no responsibility for leaving us stranded. They were not helpful and left us questioning why we even have a membership.
