I took my car to get a transmission fluid DRAIN AND FILL(114k miles) a shop that does this daily should know a full flush will mess the car up, anyways they did a full flush with universal fluid that's not compatible with my car. My transmission got to the point where it would slip every other time I drove it, no codes came up for an issue so I check the fluid come to find out the wrong fluid was put in my car. i wasnt even going to complain while I was trying to do a DRAIN AND FILL LIKE I SAID, I realized my bolt was completely stripped to the point where the socket wouldn't grip it (hex stripped to a circle basically) I called to ask why wasn't that replaced or why nothing was said about it and the manager (bill) was very rude and unproffessional. Basically calling me stupid and interrogating me "how do you know we used the wrong fluid? that would've caused an issue way sooner that's not our fault," etc not taking any responsibility. my car takes a very specific fluid and he admitted to getting it from a nearby auto shop(Advance or autozone). the only place that carries the correct fluid is the Mazda dealership. I've called around to double check. He Was rude to me and my mother when we just tried to ask a simple question "will we be charged for a tow to the store?" Got interru multiple times and he bagan interrogating us more and talking over us dodging my simple questio that could've been "yes" or "no". I'm over his attitude this has been the most unprofessional "manager" I've ever spoke with. Took no responsibility, had no real transmission knowledge whatsoever, and on top of being uneducated you're going to be RUDE to a customer that payed over $400 just to get my transmission messed up? i will definitely not let someone who has no idea what he's talking about talk down to me like I'm stupid when I'm actively doing the job correctly and fixing their mistakes. also would like to note they stripped the bolt which is the real reason why I called and Mr bill is saying they didn't do it. you are the only shop that has touched that bolt since. if you strip it I get it I'm a mechanic it's easy to do but replace the bolt or let me know so I can get it and bring it back. Actually pathetic. in the picture is what the fluid that this store put in my car. This is the WRONG fluid like I said and was interrogated about "how do I know?" BECASE MY FLUID IS SUPPOSED TO BE GREENISH/BLUE ONLY NO OTHER TYPE. now what color does this look like to you? See any green OR blue? No it's red which is the universal fluid that is not compatible with my car. It takes a simple 3 second google search to figure that out. read more

I called around to compare offers and the gentlemen I talked with at this garage took such good care of me, and even tried to match my best quote and gave me a generous turnover time for the repair. I did not use them for the repair itself for other reasons, but not at all because of the service I received. I dealt with two gentlemen who were both wonderful, and very kind and understanding when I decided to go with another garage. I'm sure the work would have been great. read more

I asked him three times for his liability phone number for messing up my truck and he avoided giving it me. When they give you an 800# they transfer you to a disconnected number so you get the run around. Why do they need to give you the run around if they are honest about what they do! I love this place. I have always had a good experience here. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation with balance. After I left my, car was pulling to the right. I thought I was going to need an alignment. Nope, not the case. Turns out the tires just needed a little adjustment. I'm pleased with the result and the honesty of the team at AAA. I chose AAA because of their reputation and I'm very picky when it comes to my car care service. Friendly staff, tires delivered on time and appointment time was a breeze. Took about 30 minutes after arrival for my car to be pulled in and I added an alignment to my preordered service. I'm a car girl so to talk shop with the guys was like being at home. I doubt I will ever use this place again for auto service. I was quoted one price for a simple oil change over the phone, made the appointment for the next day. Got the oil change and was told I owe $10 more than I was quoted. On the phone they told me there was a $10 instant coupon and when i asked about it in person, they knew nothing about it. Said I "may" get a $0 rebate in the mail, they didn't know. Techs cannot read work orders. Plain as day on the work order was, Tire in cargo area goes on back in rotation, tire on right rear back to cargo area. They rotated them and I happen to see the "spare" that was suppose to go back in the cargo area on the right front now. Told person at front desk, he went to the shop to tell them to switch it. Dinning Dollars. I was unable to get signed up for the gift. I tried all options I could find by phone to get some assistance.... To NO AVAIL. I stopped by the Tanner Rd. G'vl. office where I met Katie. She was like a breath of FRESH AIR. Kind, understanding and committed to helping me resolve this issue. She WORKED TIRELESSLY.. I can't commend her enough. It took several visits, several opportunities for me to observe her with customers. I was amazed each time with her demeanor, her patience, her kindness and ABILITY to resolve any issue or questions a customer/member might have. and ...I might add...ALWAYS with a SMILE. I COMMEND you for HIRING a young girl with so much to OFFER YOUR CUSTOMERS. Katie was able to resolve my issue...HOWEVER I HAVE TO ADD. Normally I am very pleased with the level of service here, however my most recent experience was rather frustrating. I scheduled an oil change for 11:30a, and I told them I would wait on it (typically won't take more than an hour). Sadly my car wasn't tended to until 12p, and when it was ready an hour later, they didn't let me know right away so I had to walk up and specifically ask to get checked out. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it took more than my allotted lunch break from work, and I was nearly late to a client meeting. Hopefully next time I come back, they'll be a little speedier! read more

Save yourself the headache. Purchased policy, signed up for installments they auto-drafted the amount for the entire policy twice. Refunded the difference then rescinded the policy. I usually don't write negative reviews, but in this case, I felt that it is necessary for me to share my experience with others because I would hate for anyone else to have a similar experience. I took my car to AAA Tanner road because it was running hot, it was only supposed to be for a sensor replacement, but after they ran their diagnostics, AAA said that it needed a water pump, so I had them to replace the water pump. Well I took the car home, and after driving it a couple of weeks it ran hot again, so I took it back to AAA, and this time it was the sensor(remind you that was the original issue), so that was replaced. Took the car home couple of weeks later the car ran hot again, took the car back to AAA and this time it was diagnosis was air in the line causing it to run hot( in full disclosure they didn't charge me for the air in the line diagnosis). Took the car back home several weeks later it ran hot again, but this time it wouldn't excel forward hardly at all, so I had my son take it back to AAA. The manager said that there was a leak and he needed to get in there and take a look at the motor, so I knew that it would take some time, so I expected to hear back from the manager within a week; instead, I heard nothing. After a week went by without hearing anything, I called the store, and I could not get any response from the manager. After several weeks of contacting the store and the national office I finally got an answer, he then proceeded to tell me it is the motor. Of course, anyone who knows cars knows that if the vehicle continuously runs hot, that will mess up the heads. I know you're probably wondering after so many attempts why I didn't just take it to another shop, but because they did the original work I didn't want to void the warranty by going to someone else, and at this point, I had paid out quite a bit of money. Well since the motor is now blown, I took it to another shop to get it properly diagnosed, and they told me the engine was full of antifreeze. When I told the manager at AAA, he said that it wasn't AAA's problem. As a single mom I don't have to explain how important it is to have a working vehicle, so I wanted to share my experience so that no one else gets taken advantage of, and from this day forward I will take any car I own back to the dealer, its worth spending the extra money. read more

This review is for AAA in general. Greenville uses JR Towing for service. This is the second time I have had an issue with them and yet they continue to use them. My battery went suddenly dead. I was told the battery would be tested and if needed, JR could put in a new one. I was told the cost of $119. JR was able to start the car but the battery showed neither pass nor fail. I wanted a new battery but he didn't have one on his truck the right size.. When I was finally able to get through to JR Towing on the phone, I was told they were at the end of their stock. I called AAA and was told that JR was the only one in Greenville that had batteries on their trucks. I find it incredible that AAA has only one company in Greenville to provide this service! I have been with AAA for over 22 years and beginning to wonder why I pay for it. read more

This is the absolute worst auto repair shop I have ever set foot in. I stopped by one morning on my way to work to see if they were able to determine the cause of a number of lights in my vehicle. The gentleman took my number and told me to bring the vehicle in on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. I arrived on Saturday morning and no one had any information about my appointment and was more than rude.He said there are a lot of people here and he did not have a clue about anything I said. He finally said we cannot fix your problem anyway. Just go back to the dealer. No apology was ever given. This place is a disgrace and you visit at your own peril. read more

I have always been a AAA member and so have my parents, but I have never liked going to any AAA location because of many reasons. This location has just proved my reasoning. First, when I went to pick up my car after the repairs, when the car service desk guy handed me my receipts, he was very rude. He questioned me and said, "do you even know what you're looking at?" It was completely uncalled for and he did not even try to correct his attitude once I said that I knew exactly what I was looking at. Just because I am a women does not mean that someone needs to be rude and question my knowledge on car and car repairs. Secondly, when I brought my vehicle to this location to be repaired, I had a FULL tank of gas. When I was getting ready to leave, I had 3/8 of a tank. That is absolutely ridiculous. So I asked where my gas went and he said that repairs called for emptying the tank and only putting in five gallons and THROWING AWAY all the gas that was previously in there. Doing this was a complete waste of my personal money because they did not replace the correct amount of gas that was in my car to begin with. Lastly, once getting my car and about to leave I noticed that my back bumper was completely aligned wrong on my car and it looked like it was about to fall off. I know for a fact that it did not look like that when I brought to the location. So once more, for the third time, I had to enter the store and complain about the service I was given. The same guy from the beginning who gave me an attitude greeted me and asked how he could help, and I told him the problem and he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. He asked the mechanics who worked on my car and came back to tell me that they had not assembled things correctly. This shows me poor quality work and poor attention. Once more, they had to take my car back into the shop and fix what was not done properly to begin with. All in all, I was very dissatisfied and left very angry. I will never go back to this AAA. They have poor customer service, over priced car service, and poor quality work. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

Went for brake service. I didn't want to mess with doing it myself but know enough to know that the rotors looked fine. They put the truck on the rack and took off all the tires. Then called me out and gave me some speech about the rotors needing to be replaced and were too thin to be resurfaced. The total quote was well over $500 for what I thought should be a simple brake job. I've seen some odd stuff here with things they've quoted in the past so this time I told them to put the tires back on and I left. I went to Tire Kingdom on the other side of Woodruff Rd. The contrast here is that they showed me the actual numerical measurements of the rotor thickness and where in their catalogue it specified what was acceptable. They quickly told me that the rotors were fine and anyone would have been crazy to suggest they be replaced. They said there was no grey area at all and it was purely AAA trying to rip me off. Total cost at Tire Kingdom was $200+ less and everything is fine. I do not recommend this AAA service center at all. I've seen enough of their practices from oil changes in the past to see what they do and how they operate. They even charge almost $100 to read a check engine code when places like AutoZone do it for free. Stay away and don't fall victim to a big waste of time and being ripped off. If you go, just go there for an oil change and do nothing more. read more

I told them about my car pulling towards right so asked them if it was alignment or something else. They did the alignment. I also asked them about the condition of the tires and the gentleman said they were fine. There was nothing wrong with the tires. Following week I took the car back to let them know that the car is still pulling towards right. They checked it and said the alignment was fine, it was the tires that was making it pull towards the right. Tires are worn out. So I had to pay for the alignment I didn't need in the first place. I did question the lady but she just waffled. Feel like I pretty much got ripped off by AAA. read more

Took my truck in for an oil change and a look at my brakes. I knew they were due to be replaced and the rotors on the front would need to be changed. However, I was not prepared for the 700+ estimate! The service technician tried to convince me that the cost was high because the front wheel bearings would need to be repacked and that takes hours. Are you kidding me? I am not a mechanic but know what it means to repack front wheel bearings. It takes maybe 10 minutes. I told the service lady that I couldn't pay that. She said she would see if she could lower the bill any. When she called me back she said she had applied a discount and brought it down to $600+. That was still about twice what I thought it should be and picked the truck up. Anyway, I took the truck to a local guy in Easley and had it done over the weekend for $300. I would say to stay away from these people! read more

I highly recommend AAA Care Care Center.This past Saturday my vehicle broke down as I was traveling from Georgia back to Virginia, along with my wife and three year old son. I have a AAA membership and unfortunately it took three and a half hours for the designated tow truck driver to pick up my vehicle and bring it in to this care center. However, from there, the senior manager, Zeph Smith, really stepped in to help myself and my family. He worked hard along with his employees to repair my alternator and replace a failed battery. They close at 4pm on Saturday and they stayed overtime to fix my vehicle and get us back on the road. It was then discovered that there was a problem with the ac. Mr. Smith ended up staying by himself until nearly 7pm to help fix this issue so we would not have to drve the remaining 5 hours without air conditioning! I can not begin to thank Zeph Smith and his crew enough for all they did. This is a great place to go if you are looking for fast, friendly, top notch customer service. read more

I scheduled an app't. for a promotional $14.95 oil change on my 2011 Hyundai which has been serviced at the same AAA facility a number of times. I was told the oil filter had to be ordered (even though the app't. was scheduled a day or two before) but that it would only take 15 minutes to have it delivered and 45-60 minutes to complete the work. That was fine but after the vehicle was checked in, the rep. came and told me it was a special order filter and normally the oil change would cost $40.00-$50.00, but they could do it for $30.00. I mentioned that LOF had always been done at the promotional prices before. I told them to go ahead with the work since I was already there and they did finish the work in 45 minutes. When it came to check out, the rep. said he did go back and check prior charges on my account for an LOF and adjusted the bill to be more reflective of what I had been charged previously (but not $14.95)! I frequently have my vehicles serviced at AAA and have usually been satisfied with the work and convenience of the location. However, if promotional offers are not honored, I can get the same work done thru the dealer facilities which offer competitive prices for the same work. read more
