I have been extremely pleased with services I received at this location on multiple times. I've had a full synthetic oil change and they handled a few major concerns I had and my vehicle is running smoother. Owning a vehicle comes with regular maintenance and I'm glad I can trust AAA with my vehicle needs in these last couple months. They alleviated a lot of stress. I came in for for an oil change, the courtesy inspection and an official state inspection. This AAA facility is a fairly pleasant place to wait while your vehicle is being serviced, i.e. quiet spaces to work by computer, read, etc.; I appreciate not having a blaring t.v. wait area. The open desk arrangement for service managers (and travel agents) is accessible and comfortable. The comprehensive safety check sounds good in theory but, in substance, not thorough- they missed noting my cabin air filter was removed. The video with the report is non-specific and mostly for "show." However, they did catch my need to replace spark plugs, which was needed per spec. The service manager, Mike, handles customers well and I appreciate the good value he gave me honoring a AAA coupon; no games. I often do this kind of routine work myself, but this was a cost effective and comfortable alternative to "DIY" in 85 degree heat. read more

These guys will lie to your face about the difficulty of a job in order to charge you more money. They'll do anything they can to waive any 'free' benefit you have from a membership. The definition of shady mechanics. I can't stress more to avoid this place. They're not honest. A repair I could have done myself in 15 minutes took an hour, extra fees on the bill, no membership applied. We brought our car to them because the check engine light came on. They found several things wrong with the car, but none of them were the issue causing the check engine light to come on. They didn't have the parts and "couldn't be sure what the problem was until after a $900 repair." Once that repair was done, they could check something else, which of course was broken and needed to be fixed for another $500. After that, we got the car and it was making weird noises and the light came back on, so we went back. The guy behind the counter was condescending and chuckled at my wife in a way that really upset her. So then I went to join her and talk to the folks. They first tried to tell us that we weren't hearing what we actually heard. Eventually, they said it was something unrelated but that the repair the did just made the fuel injector work better and that the noise was supposed to be there. We'd had the car for 12 years and never heard that noise. They didn't stand by their work or offer any solutions. We decided to chalk it up as an expensive lesson and are taking our car somewhere else. I had a similar experience with them years ago, but because of the convenient location I thought maybe they'd gotten better and I could try them again. Lesson learned! I started writing this review yesterday and I'm so glad I waited a day. I don't even want to give this a single star honestly. This was single handed the worst experience I've ever had trying to get my car serviced. One of the mechanics was making crude comments about my car and how I take care of it. They had us literally walk next to oil and other hazards in the work area. After two hours they over charged me and sent me on my way. I had a 7 inch crack in my drivers window, and when I got my car back the crack was about 15 inches long due to them slamming my car door. They also fully messed up my power steering. I literally went here for an oil change and car inspection and left with broken power steering a cracked window and being up charged. To top it all off, they didn't give me an inspection paper stating if I passed. My husband called up asking if I had passed, and they straight up told him "they forgot to put it in the system so it doesn't show I ever got inspected" and they very much charged me for the "inspection" My husband went up there today to get my $30 back for my "inspection" and they gave him attitude from the get go. This location fully ruined my car and my trust in mechanics. I am absolutely going to corporate about this and the BBB. I have never written a negative review or felt this strongly in my life. Took my car for pre purchase inspection and found they were erroneous in telling me it need new struts and brake pads. Was told it was leaking, after taking it two further places I found they were wrong they were fine , what they thought was fluid spray was simply the tire shiner spray used on front of the tires for new cars. They want 1200-1800 for something that was fine. I will never go back I had to get two lug nuts replaces as well as they broke them. Go anywhere else. read more

When i asked for a time update after 1hr, i could see them click the car keys to see which car in the parking lot was mine -- they hadn't even started. Unprofessional. Ok, so anyone who knows me knows I am not a car/tech guy. I don't even change my own oil. Anything more than changing my tires or windshield wipers, I leave to those more knowledgeable. Or at least I used to... So: My driver's side power window stops working on my Honda Accord. I call AAA to get a quote. Without even thinking about it (like they do this 3X a week), he says " $390+ for the window motor/regulator assembly and $150 for labor." Says I, "That's a lot of money. Goodbye." I go home and look up an instructional video because no way I'm paying $600 to fix my window. Video seemed pretty straightforward. So I bought the part (cost about 70 bucks) and did it myself. It took about an hour because I kept referring to the video because, as I mentioned: not a car guy. Worked like a charm. No special tools required. Just a couple of screwdrivers, a socket wrench, some gorilla glue, and a little patience. I thought I would feel a sense of accomplishment and relief. And I did. For a moment. But it was almost entirely overwhelmed with rage. Serious question to anyone still reading this screed: How is it legal for AAA overcharge like that??? Every single price I found for the required part cost between $42-$80. Every. Single. One. Nothing over a hundred. This was a power window regulator with motor 2007 Honda accord. Not for 2 of them. Not the glass. Just the motor/regulator assembly. Go ahead and Google it! Find me one that costs more than a $100. I'll wait. I'm not a math guy either but that's a markup of like 400%!! Not a 50% or 100% markup-- over 400%!!! And $150 for labor??? My untrained and unqualified self did it in just under an hour with the help of a poorly filmed YouTube video and some light swearing. A trained mechanic could probably have done it in 20 minutes including a smoke break. Moral of the story: AAA has no issues gouging their customers at a level so cartoonishly grotesque that it would be funny if it weren't so morally reprehensible. I never leave reviews. I opened this account to write this one. This is not a one-off. They told my girlfriend about a year ago that she was in serious danger and needed to replace her catalytic converter to the tune of over a thousand dollars. She got a second opinion, and that guy was honest enough to tell her all she needed was a $20 bottle of catalytic converter cleaner. She did so, the check engine light went off, and the car runs fine. That was 6 months ago. AAA is the absolute worst. Their mechanics are without conscience or compunction and will smile at you as they lie to your face. You are better off with almost any of their competitors than going with AAA. You are better off trying to fix it yourself than trusting AAA's mechanics. You are better off just selling your car and taking on new car payments than giving your money to AAA. You are better off taking the bus than dealing with AAA. Walking through the rain with all your worldly possessions hanging from a bindle off your shoulder is better than walking into a AAA. read more

Resting on the grave of a haunted Burger King, AAA built a facility closer to Cary than the Waverley location. The building is new and clean, but the staff has an....odd vibe. The person at the front desk almost never looks up from her phone to greet you. The sales guys to the right have a "bro" vibe (with no concept of 'indoor voice') that gets grating quickly. The mechanics can sometimes be hard to get a hold of--especially when they get into conversations. Moreover, because they rely both on local and a central phone appointment system, I've found that I've lost a reservation (made on site by an employee) at least once. The waiting area needs work. There are a few chairs and a high top table with stools. There's nowhere to get work done. Moreover, while the coffee station is solid, the lack of lids makes capping a cuppa complicated if your car is done before the coffee is. read more

DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED HERE!!! ZERO STARS!!! I had my car towed here when my car started stuttering on the highway and the check engine light came on. Eddie C said I needed 4 ignition coils and spark plugs. They charged me $184.99 per ignition coil for a total of $739.96... My total that day for everything, was $1,238.63 Eddie said I also needed over $3,000 in work on my car. I had the coils and spark plugs replaced then took it to my regular mechanic and they looked it over and said only 2 of the things Eddie and Gavin R. the technician said I needed were needed or due. The power steering belt was not fraying, the fluid looked good. The axle was fine, as were the struts and shocks and the transmission service had recently been done (Eddie was really pushing for me to do that along with the ignition coil and spark plugs, since those are good to do at the same time). And my mechanic said they would have charged $192 for ALL 4 ignition coils... and like I said, I paid $739.96 here. I feel sick. This is a place that gives car mechanics a bad name. read more

Got a battery terminal repair and alternator replacement as expected but had an engine light with "limp mode" (1st gear only) upon leaving. Chris and the very knowledgeable staff diagnosed it perfectly, apologized, and got it fixed at no extra cost. You hear "they made it worse" stories about other places to get more money from you, but these guys are fair, honest, and informed. My 300 just had to relearn the settings after the battery died and they got it just right. Kudos. read more

I was told I needed a new transmission. Of course the cost of everything is astronomical. It took time to get the money to pay for a used transmission. When I was able to get the money, I went to the store directly and was told I had to make a partial payment of services due to the total amount of the services to be rendered. No problem, the partial payment was made on a Friday, 8/11/23. No one called by Wednesday (8/16/23) to give an update, so I decided to call them for an update. I was told they were trying to contact me but I never received a call or voicemail from them. They told me they were sent the wrong transmission and they would have to contact their dealer to get the correct one. I waited to call until Friday (8/18/23) for a status. I was told they had the new transmission and the car would be worked on by Monday (8/21/23) and hopefully completed by Tuesday/Wednesday (8/22 - 8/23). No problem. I waited until the following week to contact them on Tuesday (8/22/23). Someone from the car care center states the mechanic that's supposed to work on my car isn't there today and wasn't there Saturday nor Monday to begin working on my car. And that my car wouldn't be available until the end of the week. The lack of communication and the setting of expectations fails at this location. In my opinion, my vehicle isn't a priority to be completed in a timely manner due to the time it took for me to get the money for repairs. I've been burned by a lot of car repair shops and I pray I'm not getting burned here. I have a scheduled windshield repair from a company that messed up my windshield and now I must reschedule that appointment. It's taking two weeks to complete a repair order I was told would take two/three days. read more

Have use this office several times and have never had bad service. I have also had my car worked on here and receive timely and professional work. But most of all I like the people who work here. After booking a vacation in this office unfortunately I had to cancel due to a death in the family. Travel agent Dane Goodlin went beyond his responsibilities and helped me get my insurance policy claim processed and I was able to recoup all my money. This place provided the best service I have received from an automotive repair shop. Within 1 hour and 30 minutes, they managed to tow my car to their nearest open and operational auto repair shop, brief me on how they will take care of it and have diagnostics ready for the following day. By the next morning, they emailed me the most and least urgent issues to address. I found this efficient because I was able to stay at home than have to go back to the shop to be debriefed. They waited patiently for me to choose which issues I wanted fixed, and my car was operational the following afternoon when I came back to pick it up. read more
