We have used this company for MANY of our tire needs. They are awesome and as a side benefit for me and my family, very close to us which is why we used them the first time. We get at least one nail in our car tire a year ... at a minimum. They pull the tire fix it and get us on our way quickly... often the same day if it occurs in the morning. We've also used them to replace tires when they finally have worn out. I measure the quality of companies I use based on what happens when things have gone wrong. Do NOT go to Atlantic Tire & Service. I got them to replace a valve stem on my tire 5 months ago. The valve stem they put in started leaking air again, so I brought it back to get it replaced. It takes 3-4 mins to replace a valve stem. The front desk guy was very rude and they said they didn't have time for me. They charged me $50 to replace it the first time and wouldn't fix their faulty product this time around that would take 3-4 mins. So I left and went to "Just Tires" up the road. I asked them for a valve stem replacement and they said "no problem" and took the tire back and had it done in 3 mins. "Just Tires" saw it as the simple job it was and didn't even charge me for the new valve stem or the labor. They did it for free! Atlantic tire wanted $50 and were rude. While visiting friends in Cary, I had the misfortune of running over a bolt while getting my morning coffee. Considering I was supposed to leave the following morning at 5am and drive 800 miles, I called Atlantic Tire in a panic. What a great experience I had with them. They were able to take a look at the tire just minutes after it suffered the damage. They explained the the nail was in the sidewall of this run-flat tire and the whole thing needed to be replaced. Because I drive a MINI Cooper, with weird little tire, they did not have the product I needed in their warehouse. They were genuinely helpful by suggesting a few other local places that might have been able to help. Fast-forward to later that day, I drove all the way to the MINI dealership in Raleigh to buy a replacement tire. They insisted that they could not install it and that I would not be able to get my car looked at until Monday. How ridiculous. So back I went to Atlantic Tire! They squeezed me in that day and replaced the tire for $30 before 5pm. Top notch service. I was able to get on the road as planned the following day. Took my 2019 Tundra with check engine light on. They worked on it and said it was the EVAP purge valve. Paid $400 for the work. Three days later check engine light comes on again. Took it back and they said it was a different part on the EVAP purge valve which will cost $450. Was it a coincidence? I am very skeptic but my rating was low due to the fact they would not even work with me on getting it fixed. They didn't give me a discount or anything. Came here at 2:55 pm with a flat tire that had a lug nut lock on it without the key. It was Saturday so they closed at 4:00 pm. Needed them to strip the lug nut off and replace tire. Was there with my wife and baby more than an hour before close but was told their technicians were wrapping up for the day and they could see me in the afternoon 2 days later on Monday. Said they couldn't even help me get quickly get the lug nut lock off so I could put a spare on and transport my car somewhere else. So I'm sitting in their parking lot waiting to get towed to discount tire down the street who can do it today as long as I get there before closing time. Apparently discount tire doesn't make its potential customers kick rocks bc their technicians want to wrap up an hour early. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. 1 star is being too nice. My experience with Atlantic Tire and Services was horrible. I will never take my vehicle there again. I wouldn't have them work on a hot wheel car. They messed up my drain plug so bad on my BMW X6 and refuse to take accountability. I took it to Fast Lube on Chapel Hill rd to get an oil change (Atlantic Tire claimed they were booked at the time). Fast Lube couldn't do it and wouldn't touch it. They told me whoever did my oil change last put in a Volvo drain plug. Ironically there is a Volvo dealership right across the street from Atlantic Tire on Maynard rd in Cary. I couldn't believe it so I took it to pep boys on chapel hill rd for a second opinion. They tell me that the drain plug is damaged and busted. They informed me that they could fix it but advised me to go to the last place that fixed my truck. Once again all fingers are pointed to Atlantic Tire and Service. I took it back to Atlantic Tire. At first they tried to blame Pep Boys instead of holding themselves accountable for the error. The manager Rob advised me they fixed it. Rob said verbatim "If it's still leaking in a few weeks come back". I was elated they fixed it not realizing once again Atlantic tire gave me temporary fix and I have to return a few weeks later. A few weeks later On my way back from Greensboro , my dashboard flashed said I didn't have any oil in my car. I was furious especially knowing I don't drive much. That day was the first time in a while I drove that far due to a family emergency. As soon as I got home I called Atlantic tire. My oil has been leaking since the day I left their shop. There is no way I shouldn't have NO OIL in my truck if the "issue was resolved ". The assistant manager looked at my truck told me there is oil from the front and back end of my truck. Told me he didn't know where the leak came from. Looks me in my face and say "we aren't able to fix this". So I ask him where can I take it to fix this issue. He says "I don't know". I then ask " do I have to take this to the bmw dealership to get fixed. He says I don't know. The entire time my best friend was on my phone and heard everything she said something is not right. At that moment I realized Atlantic Tire was refusing to service and fixed the issue they caused. I told the assistant manager if I take my truck somewhere else and they tell me there is still an issue with the drain plug, I'm going to come back here and you guys are going to file a claim with your insurance ". So I went back to pep boys welp they confirmed the leak is coming from the DRAIN PLUG! I went back to Atlantic tire. Before I get out of my truck I can see the 2 managers through the window. As soon as they seen mean their whole demeanor changed. Rob face turned red as he rolled his eyes racing to go to the back. I walk in waiting for someone to assist me. The manager was leaning against the wall and knew why I was there. He didn't want to speak to me. A young polite man greeted me and I told him "Rob knows exactly why I'm here. That's why he ran to the back." The assistant manager finally rose off the wall took my documentation from Pep Boys made a copy. Told me the general manager will contact me tomorrow. Tomorrow was last Wednesday March 6, 2024. No call was made to me. Atlantic Tire is responsible for this screw up. They are dishonest and untrustworthy. Trying take advantage and manipulate me because I am a woman. I will be contacting corporate first thing tomorrow. You all will pay for the mechanic cost that's more than what my truck was worth. You are going to have to pay me for buying a new truck. I cannot be without a vehicle when my 1 year old has a doctor appointment every week! Thank God I didn't get stranded with my children in the car. My engine could've blew! Since I had that truck I took care of it. Anything went wrong it was fixed. I'm so disgusted with the customer service, the run around and the lack of accountability. You all really using Volvo parts on foreign cars. After 20+ years over three cars, I find that I have lost my trust in Atlantic Tire Maynard to properly service my car and will no longer use or recommend them. I had my car in for routine service around 65K miles and was told the brake pads front and rear needed to be replaced, which seemed about right. I received a call when completed that they had replaced the front and rear pads and turned the rotors. I questioned why the rotors were turned rather than replaced, as they had on my previous two cars, and was told they were within spec for turning. Six months later, I noticed the brake pedal was pulsating during braking and took my car back. I was advised that the front rotors had warped and would need to be replaced. They charged full price for rotor replacement, less a 10% 'courtesy' discount. Four months later, I noticed the pulsation had returned and took it back again. This time I was advised that the rear rotors needed replacement, plus the pads which had less than 10K miles. They charged full price for rotor and pad replacement, but did not charge me for the oil change that I had not asked for. I've been bringing my four cars to Atlantic Tire since moving here in 2014. They've always treated me well except for my visit last week. I had purchased from them in 2019 a set of Pirellis for my Cadillac. They offer free rotation every 5,000 miles which I used in the Spring and again last week along with my annual NC inspection. I was shocked when they presented me a bill that include a four wheel alignment that I didn't request nor had they called me to tell me they thought it necessary (FWIW, 3 of the 4 tires were in alignment specs with only the front right slightly off). This is a clean shop with nice employees but I recommend you request a written estimate, even on routine work like a State Inspection, so that you're not surprised as I was. read more

While visiting from out of town, and while taking my elderly father to the hospital, my tire pressure light came on. As it was a chilly morning, I assumed that the tire pressure was merely needing a top off. Unfortunately, a nail near the sidewall was discovered which required a replacement. The Maynard Rd. Store located a tire, had it transferred to the Asheville Ave. location, and dropped me off and picked me up from the hospital so that I could tend to my Dad. I have been using this location for my routine oil change and repairs for 5+ years. They are always honest and reliable. James by far is one of the kindest and most thoughtful service providers. He is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected. I can always trust that his recommendation is truthful and timely. In addition, I was in a rush to repair a flat tire on a Saturday morning bc we have to move my daughter out of the dorm before 1 pm. He helped to squeeze my repair in so we could move her out in time b4 the deadline. All the staff members are courteous and the owner often sits in the front office to help. Now within a year , I am told one tire is worn out and warranty will not cover as it has not been maintained, which req were not told to me. My right car window was partially out of order, so I had a walk-in service. They were busy at that moment, but they helped me to squeeze in. I really appreciate it, so I gave two stars. I left my vehicle there for examination and received a call an hour later. I was told that they are going to run a electrical diagnose, fix the window and reprogram it. The window will cost 55 dollars, I had no problems with it, so I told them go ahead do it. After a long road trip, we arrived in Cary in the morning only to have our car battery die in a parking lot. We contacted this shop as we'd had service from in the past. They offered to come out and give us a jump. They were able to assist us in 20 min, and fit us in for diagnostic and a new battery installation same day (before lunch even!). I wasn't thrilled to spend money on car repairs after a vacation, but I was thankful I did not have to tow my car...​ which would have cost me more and possibly a visit to a random auto shop. My vehicle had an oil leak, so I brought it to Atlantic Tire & Service to get it repaired. The diagnostic was completed and cost $109.00. I was called and advised what was causing the leak and I went ahead and authorized the repairs. I was called and told the vehicle was ready and was assured the leaking issue was fixed. I picked up the vehicle and just a day later, with no driving of the vehicle since I brought it home, the leaking was still occurring! I brought it in and dropped it off and less than an hour later, I was called and told the vehicle had "developed" a new leak and I would need to pay to have this "new" leak repaired! Watch out! Will try to rope you into additional repairs! And if you are a woman - forget about it! Don't weld - will only use bracketed parts. And the hourly rate is $99!! I brought my 2000 CRV into the shop based on a reference from a coworker. I had an ongoing problem with my car that I have sought service previously when I came into Atlantic Tire. I fully disclosed the problems I've had, and my inability to get it properly fixed at other shops. I got the list of parts they suggested needed to be replaced - from the O2 sensor all the way back to the muffler! I wonder if it was all necessary or if because they don't weld they couldn't replace just what was needed. After I spent close to $700, I called to get an update and the original problem of it stalling was not fixed (though I was assured it would be). Another part and almost $300 later, my car was ready to be picked up. Before I even left the parking lot, my car stalled AGAIN and now my window was stuck down. I was told I needed even more work! Granted I just spent almost half of what this car is worth! I also noticed they "accidentally left" the receipt of a car wash from the joint next door on my dash - I don't really give a rip if they comped me a wash and I think it's tacky they left the receipt for me to find! I came in with my husband to dispute the final bill - he was told the $99 diagnostic fee would be rolled in if we got it fixed there. I was told they normally don't take off the discount for labor (a coupon I brought in from a mailer!). I think because the lobby was so full of other customers he gave me the fee back. But the whole time he addressed my husband even though I was asking questions! It runs OK now, but still has the original stalling problem. Thankfully, I found Atlantic Tire and Service in Cary. They have faithfully and consistently serviced my vehicles for the past 5 years. Through routine maintenance, unexpected breakdowns, and even new car purchasing advice, they have given me exemplary service. They are truly experts at what they do and I am always confident that, if there is an unexpected issue, they will give me the straight story without sugar-coating it or inflating the bill and repairs with unnecessary work. They always give me options and the alternative courses of action (not the kind of "alternatives" where the mechanic tries to scare you into the higher cost option either). I have personally seen them work with customers to make sure they got the service and satisfaction they needed and, I can honestly say, as long as I live in North Carolina, my cars will always be serviced at Atlantic Tire in Cary. Not at all pleased with my recent service. We hadn't had problems during our few experiences here in the past, so I recently took my older car in for its annual inspection. They failed it and I had them keep it to diagnose the problem, since this wasn't entirely unreasonable nor unexpected for a car in it's condition. Well, of course they later call me back with a several hundred dollar repair quote. The car isn't actually worth that much in repairs, so I decided to take it home with me to get a second opinion as well as check with my father (son/brother of mechanics). The next place passed it with no remarks, however, despite the exact same readings on the tests, and when my father took a look at what they told me was broken, he found there to be absolutely nothing wrong. Not only that, but when I initially mentioned that I would be taking it somewhere else, I was immediately called back with an offer of a discount for the work they'd quoted me. In retrospect, I suspect this was a ploy to try to get me to go ahead and agree to the repairs it turns out I didn't even need. Additionally, when we took a look at the quote breakdown, it included all sorts of things that we hadn't discussed, such as wheel alignments, which contributed to the high price. I have purchased full sets of tires from them twice: once for an older Honda and once for a newer Mercedes. In both cases I got multiple quotes and they were not only the best deal (they are good at matching prices) but they had the best service. With the Accord I got a good deal on relatively cheap tires and with the Mercedes I got a good deal on newer high performance ones. With the Accord they helped me pick out a cheaper set and didn't try to upsell. In the case of the Mercedes they had the tires in the day after I called and were able to give me a quote immediately, even on a Sunday (some of their competitors told me they'd call me back Monday). They also matched pricing from Tire Rack. They have a nice waiting room with Wifi and they are up front on how long things will take and what they are doing. Plus I got a complimentary car wash. Wow, I got a coupon in the mail for a free oil change. They were amazing! I called them up and they made me an appointment right then, I forgot my appointment, called them and they said I could come in right away. The oil change was fast, they originally said that I would have to pay for synthetic b/c that's what I normally use, but they ended up giving it to me for free. Every conversation was friendly whether in person or over the phone, and they were fast. I checked my oil the next day and it was over half way up the "acceptable" range. Great place. read more

Ok. I needed tires for a big trip, first I called Costco, a store that I love but they could not get tires for 4-6 days. So I went to Atlantic tire where I had purchased tires a few years ago but remembered a positive experience. My tires, Hankook, original tires 30,800 miles on my 2013 Ford Flex had some strange cuts, dings and chunked of rubber missing. Very small cuts and chunks. Well Atlantic went to work, took photos of my tires, contacted Hankook and got me a rebate on the damaged tires. I will get a rebate for about $180 from the manufacturer. Chose them based on good ratings. I was a bit disappointed. Friendly staff. But I was there for tires and specifically said I wanted tires that were quiet. I drive down the road with a "hum" now. I also asked them to fix vibration under hard braking. Pretty sure the rotors needed resurfacing. When I picked up the car they said they only checked the brakes and told me I had plenty of pad left. Would I go back? Unsure. I received an email asking for my opinion of service. I sent response to owner and heard nothing from him for over a week. Best place to take a used car (before buying) for an inspection! Atlantic Tire has been our trusted mechanic for our family's cars for over 10 years. Recently we thought we were buying a used but safe car for our daughter, but after the mechanics inspected the car, we learned that the car had been in an accident (not showing up on the CARFAX report) and once up on the lift, it was apparent that the car was spray painted black to hide the excessive rust and many of the parts were needing repair- struts, rotors, brake pads, etc. So grateful to Atlantic Tire for their expert, independent inspection.
