It is a bad course, the terminology is confusing, the video examples are poor quality, and the review questions are often nonsensical. My kid had the same instructor for all 8 lessons. I had her take lessons after me teaching her myself for 10 months just so she could be taught the little tips that you need for passing the driving test. The impression I git was the instructor was more on the nervous overly cautious side which I originally thought may be a good thing. Heard feedback that he often yelled at my kid and other kids we know to constantly slow down even though they were going at or just under the speed limit and no road hazzard was present. He would even use his instructor brake when it was not necessary. He is making the students overly cautious which I found out is just as bad as driving too fast. Even when I trued to explain to her that I felt that she was going too slow at times she would tell me that her instructor told her to go that speed when turnung or a curve ect. Well she took her test and they deducted 15 points for going too slow which could impede traffic. Another 15 points for turning too slow at a 4 way stop which could impede traffic and minus 10 points for not doing a double stop at a 2 way stop. I had taught her about stoping twice because we have alot of trees and bushes on our roads that block your view at a stop sign and I discovered that the instructor had yelled at her not to stop twice (stop at line,creep up, stop again) and told her to do a rolling stop the second time instead of an actual stop. I feel like I have to reteach her now to unlearn what the instructor told her in these areas. I feel like she would have done better if she never took the AAA lessons. She is a confident driver but she went into some test mode when she took the test and she relied on the instructor's advise which led to her failure. Do not sign up for AAA driving school. We bought a 10 class package for my daughter. It took 7 months to finish!!! They don't have many available time slots for scheduling. Often times classes are 3-4 weeks apart. When the instructor was late from previous session she ended up cutting our class short. We bought the driving lessons because of the reputation of AAA. Obviously the driving school is not up to par. At least the Long Beach one. Not worth the money. read more

I signed my daughter up for the 10 hour course with AAA because I thought it was the best option to teach her to be a safe and well-trained driver. Not only did it take months to complete the 10 hours, but she has had great difficulty passing the behind-the-wheel portion of the driver's test. She had the same instructor for 9 sessions and a substitute instructor for the last one. The substitute instructor expressed that he did not feel that my daughter had received appropriate instruction and was surprised it was her final session. I've essentially been instructing her myself since she completed the class, and she's not confident about the rules of the road. The time and money we spent on the course was a waste. I would never recommend AAA driving school to another parent. read more

Poor service. Last minute cancellations and couldn't reschedule before my son's driver license test. So he had a lesson after he got his driver license. High turnover so my son had 3 different instructors. This was at the Long Beach branch. read more

Don't sign on the AAA behind the wheel lessons. I prepaid 10 lessons only to learn they don't have class availability on summer or you have to reserve a few months ahead for summer lessons, you have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to get available spot for next lessons. They charge $175 for withdraw from program. If your high schooler has busy school/after school schedule, don't sign up their package and do NOT prepaid, as schedule wise it simply won't work out, and they charge a lot $$$$ for any changes. I only wish I saw the other comments before. There are a lot of driving school outside and yes you CAN book summer lessons easily. read more

This AAA Driving School has been the worst experience! Instructor missed two session without even notifying my son. Originally went with AAA figuring it would provide quality driving school instruction, however this experience has been quite the opposite. It seems like AAA only cared about the expensive price tag, not providing my son with consistent driving instruction. I've called AAA numerous times, and nobody cares! Don't go here! This school is terrible. They delayed a lesson by an hour and a half on short notice, and didn't even apologize for the delay. Also, they have too few instructors, their website is a piece of junk, and Alexander Dal, the Ukrainian driving instructor, has the attitude of a wet mop. Do yourself a favor and find another driving school. read more

Not one good thing to say about this driving school yet. They fail to tell you that when your child passes the written test that it takes about 6 weeks to get the first appointment so they can legally drive with another adult in the car. We paid more to go with AAA because we have come to expect exceptional service from their company. The driving school is not up to par. read more

I wish I never signed up with AAA-Auto Club Driving School! Let me start off by saying that I thought paying a butt load of money was the way to go, "get what you pay for", well don't! I repeat do NOT pay for AAA-Auto Club Driving School! I called in July to sign up my daughter, I got Thomas Nguyen who seemed ever so sweet, he was very upbeat answered my questions and really sold us the program. We signed up & paid the $504 in full! He asked us when we thought our daughter would complete her program and pass her test. Without knowing what the online course would be like, and just going off of Thomas experience and advise, we guesstimated that she would complete it the first part of September. life happened, September came & went, & it took longer than expected. The 30 hour long online class was PAINFUL to witness! Several repetitive videos that went over it seemed like 3 hours of tire pressure, Midwest driving, & how to hitch & pack your trailer. It was so hard for her to get through, she lost patience & attention as she finished a video in 10 min, but had to wait for the 30 min clock to rundown for her to take the horrible quizzes that had misspelled words, incomplete sentences & repetitive questions. Finally, my daughter finished in November, I called Thomas to see what our next step was. Please know he told me that he will periodically call to check in on us, that never happened! I tried about a week to get ahold of him, once I did, again he was very nice and apologetic about his absents. We went over the next steps in her journey, I explained our frustrations with the online program and why it took my daughter so long to complete it. He stated that I wasn't the first to say what I had to say, & many students and parents had the same complaints. He also said that I "MAY" have a late fee for missing my projected September date, but not to worry he will speak with his supervisor to waive the fee because he understood all that was happening & he felt bad. He also said he will note our discussions in the system, he will bring up my concerns in their next production meeting...BS! He did none of the above! He also said he will email me a list of things she needs to bring to the DMV, that also never happened. Jump forward to November 27th, my daughter has now passed her written exam at the DMV. I called Thomas to schedule her behind the wheel, but he was out of town and was directed to another representative. She called me within a few hours, she was of no help, other than to tell me that I owe $75 late fee for missing my September tentative date & she can't speak for what Thomas said & that I signed the contract, therefore I'm legally obligated to pay in order to continue the process. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I was then transferred to Courtney. Now let's talk about Courtney. I explained my back story and my current frustrations with Thomas and his lack of customer service and follow-through. She said that he would never be able to waive the $75 fee, that she is the supervisor & would never allow it!( Are you serious this is AAA! They won't waive a onetime fee for missing a projected date!) So, Thomas lied, she had no apologies for his actions, was not apologetic to me and for my frustrations, no sympathy, no empathy! I asked her why didn't she have her agents who are assigned to each student follow up with courtesy phone calls regarding their progression & to make sure they meet their projected deadline. She stated that AAA is way too big to have such a service and continued to belittle me by saying, "did you not read your contract? Did you just sign it without reviewing it? It's an 8 page document for you to printout and review and to keep and to note your contracted finish date, we can't do that for you."I was so upset and my head was so spun, I angrily paid her the $75,(this is now a $579 program) her tone then changed and was happy to have an instructor call me within 3 days to setup something. But then threw in that because my daughter missed her September date that she will be squeezing her into rotation and its now based if someone else cancelled, Great! I have a gut feeling it will be about a month before my daughter gets an appointment. My husband wanted our money back, he called and spoke with Courtney on the 28th. She stated if we wanted to cancel it will be $175 fee!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! We haven't even setup an appointment yet! & all she could say to any of my husband's valid questions were...."it's in your contract" she couldn't come up with an actual explanation that made sense, frigging robot. UGH! I DO NOT want AAA to have any of my money! I plan to go above Courtney's head & complain about her unprofessionalism & lacking customer service skills. People, get a Groupon and spend $20 for your online course & Yelp a mom & pop behind the wheel training course, don't waste your time or money with AAA!!! read more
